Can you explain a bit more how you see it done in Publisher. Each publishing house will have their own house-style to follow so to enforce one style to rule them all may not work. But I see value in some sort of House Style rules attached to a project, a bit like a Ticket options in QuarkXpress. If one could create House Styles for various companies and attach that to individual projects that might be a very good idea. This could also be linked to the Preflight options in Publisher. Having in mind that it is already at 17th edition, says a lot about the quality of the "rules" to be aware of. Can you give a few examples of how the CMS might translate into Text Styles in Publisher? It seems like an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how that would work. Agreed (speaking as one requester of Antidote). What I would request of Serif in this regard is a plugin/extension system so third parties can do what they do best. The maker of Antidote has already reached out to Serif in hopes of integrating Antidote with Affinity. Chicago Manual of Style would only benefit a rather small subset of Affinity users. Not only is it not particularly helpful for other variants of English, it does not even cover American English, for there are other styles in common use in American English. For example, in my studies at an American university, the most common styles were MLA and APA (MLA was the required style in my department). I have been thinking on this a bit and figure that we could set up Templates with the included CMS as Paragraph and Character Styles. Making sure that there are no Non-CMS styles in the template. It really does seem like it would something akin to a grammar checker (but not exactly that, either).
