  1. I've been using the "R" key to rotate the Close Brush tool - but it rotates in large steps that make it unusable for the fine clone matching I wish to create. In Photoshop I am able to use Option + Shift + <left backet> or <right bracket> - and while this is a painful finger twister they do offer the fine controls. I would really love that in Affinity Photo - without the finger twisting - perhaps a much finer control by pressing the "R" key.
  2. I want to rotate multiple objects at once, but when I select them all they rotate around one point. I want them to each rotate around their own center.
  3. I have activated the configuration to rotate the canvas and it works, but there are times that it stops working, and it does not rotate anymore, I must exit the project to the project gallery and re-enter to make it work, it is an error of the app definitely. Please fix it
  4. There was meant to be a new feature in 1.9 where you can hold CMD to rotate the canvas with the scroll wheel - I noticed it as an option in the "Tools" preferences too. For some reason this feature doesn't work for me at all. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? I'm using a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse on an iMac.
  5. How may one visually rotate a photo, with a random degree rotation, such as 8º, 17º, 58º, by use of dragging the mouse or cursor? The Crop Tool does this well, but the result is lost after deselecting rotated image! Neither may the rotated result be actually cropped, as a next step. Photoshop does this workflow well, and I wish to avoid work-arounds. My solution seems to be the OS screenshot to capture the carefully rotated result. Next open the screenshot to crop or cut away the blank slivers of photo, around the edges. If there is a method for Affinity to retain the rotation an
  6. Issues/situation: When I rotate a photo in the Develop Persona it does not 'translate' correctly into Photo Person - but gives me a very strange set of coordinates and once I then export it from there it's back to the original rotation. Here's the specs for my computer: Mac Pro (Late 2013) Processor 3,5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 Memory 16 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 Graphics AMD FirePro D700 6 GB Question: Is this just me or does anyone else have this issue? Also is it possible to set the rotation in Develop Persona to 90 degrees and/or have a hotkey for it? Screenshots: See at
  7. Is there any way to enable canvas rotation with hand gestures on the touch screen? For instance, in Photoshop, you can place two fingers on the screen and rotate them, and the canvas will rotate in that direction. I can't seem to find any setting to enable it and its very frustrating not being able to shift my canvas around freely when I'm drawing. I end up just turning my whole tablet around, which is very inconvenient.
  8. Hi, I'm new to use Affinity Photo and Affinity Design. Till now I used Photoshop. I'm missing some function in Affinity. Can someone tell me how to rotate the canvas in Affinity Photo and how to change the Brush size with the mouse like Photoshop.
  9. For the design of machines I often need to connect 2 rotating parts. In attached example both cranks can be rotated individually. The green connection-piece should move Crank#1 to the right whenever Crank#2 is moved to the right. It probably goes beyond a little modification. But rumors say, Serif is working on 3D-modeling program ... would nice to get this function any which way. Connect two cranks.afdesign
  10. Is there a way to use certain angle to snap on rotate other than every 15 degrees? only three axis can be used on Grid and Snapping Axis setting so this can't be used.
  11. Hey guys, So, when creating an object, the rotation handler is on the top of the object. If I rotate the object 90 degrees CW for example, the rotation handler will be on the left. Now if I want to change the height of the object, after the rotation, I will actually change the width of the object. Is there a way to reset the rotation handler to the top? Thank you
  12. Just been doing a Photo tutorial on RAW images ....there's a jpeg to compare to ...opened up the jpeg then RAW image...the RAW image came in landscape so had to rotate it.... Clicked back to the jpeg image and then back to the RAW...it had jumped back to landscape ...Any ideas why and how to stop it? I have 1.8 Desktop_2020_07.29_-_11_06_56_01.mp4
  13. Hello. I’m struggling with transforming selected areas of designs in Affinity Photo. When changing the size of a selected object, even a little bit, the edges of the selected object become considerably blurred with an “anti alias” look to them. Same thing occurs when rotating a selected object to a new angle, even without changing its size. This ruins the original integrity of the selected object, changing crisp-looking edges to blurred. Trying to fix the blurring by hand afterwords is a huge interruption to workflow. In Snapping Manager, I already have “Force pixel alignment” c
  14. I want to blur the letters of the license plate of this car out, and I need to rotate the selection made by the rectangle marquee tool in order to do it properly. I cannot figure out how to do it. Does anyone know how? Thank you for your help!
  15. Hi, I am currently manually stacking a lot of moon shots. Thus i have to move and rotate the layers since the moon moves and rotates slightly. Moving wokes like a charm, but rotating could be a little better. Now I have to grab a corner node to rotate the picture, which makes me see only the very outer edge of the canvas. My suggestion would be to introduce a modifier key so I dont have to grab the node anymore, but could rotate the picture using the mouse anywhere on the canvas. This would allow me to rotate and check simultaniously. With shots like this not only the corner is of interes
  16. Dear developers, I made a project in Publisher, where include two pages/spreads. When created new project add to 2 landscape pages. After created this, on second spread turned on Portrait option. Project was saved, Photo Persona showed perfect (exclude bleed). When I opened this project in Affinity Photo, then second page leave landscape, but objects is portrait. Open again in Project, second page show normally, no problem. Please fix this (too)! Here is screenshots in my bleed bug post:
  17. I think its been motioned before but please add in the ability to use the rotate command in the cintqe touch Wacom to allow for canvas rotation and zoom!!!! Also the ability to map canvas rotate to the touch ring on a standard Wacom!!!
  18. Hi - I've been tinkering with Publisher and want to leave the current program I use, but am stuck on what's probably a simple solution. I'm trying to fill a rectangle and want the fill to transition horizontally like in the attachment, but I can only get it to vertically, blue on left, red in middle, yellow on right. I'm sure there's something very simple I'm missing, but I can't figure it out. In the program I currently use, there's an "angle" adjust to rotate the fill to any orientation I want. Thanks!
  19. When you embed a drawing created in Designer in Publisher and then rotate the drawing, the light source of bevels do not rotate with it. However the light sources of drop shadows do indeed rotate. This should be consistent (lights should rotate in both cases), since it messes with the overall drawing. See my other post here for more details and a demo file.:
  20. When I have a layer selected I can use CTRL+Drag (in Windows, or whatever it is in OS X) to clone it, and that’s great. But, when I rotate or shear a layer, I cannot also clone it by using CTRL+Drag. I have to make a duplicate and then rotate/shear that. That’s not too much hassle but I think it might be nice to be able to clone a layer while rotating or shearing. Does anyone have a reason why this is a silly idea? If there’s a specific reason why it shouldn’t be done, or there’s some better functionality that could come in the future that could better use this modifier key, then I’m h
  21. Not sure if this has been asked yet but is there a way to rotate or scale an object from a user defined origin instead of the default centre of the object?
  22. In patch / stamp and other similiar tools where source can be set, there's option to rotate it, but what would be also useful is flipping (mirroring). That's all folks. Thank you for attention.
  23. Would be nice if I could use transform origin of Move/Point Transform tool to transform objects.
  24. Hi, I am trying to do a power duplicate while rotating an ellipse. the amount of rotation needs to be as precise as possible. I and trying to create seven ellipses in a perfect circle. The attached file shows what I am trying to do. I need seven smaller ellipses equally spaced around a larger ellipse. I have created one and changed its rotation point to the center of the larger ellipse. It works fine if I manually rotate it but if I enter a precise rotation value (51.428571429) in the transform panel, the rotation point is ignored and it just rotates around itself. Thanks.
  25. Hey everyone! Here is a recording I made with Affinity Designer 1.7 on iPad mini 5, iOS 12.2, visualizing touches set to true, showing the gestures fail a lot: https://www.shushustorm.com/_Uploads/Serif/iOS/1_7/PinchNotWorking.mp4 This shows the input itself does in fact get recognized. The gestures mostly fail when using thumb and index finger, but will mostly work when using index finger and middle finger. After some testing, I can say this is true for both Affinity products as well as for Procreate. Since the visualization shows that the input is indeed recognized, could there
