  1. Hi, it would be nice if you add "Flip" tool in Photo. I can't find it in "Layer", "View > Customize Tool(bar)".
  2. Hi there guys! Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009) here I don't know if this is related in any way to this bug or it's a 'by design' choice but this is what I've found: - Selections are not affected by canvas flipping (see the screenshots). Is this normal? (btw using "Select/edit selection as a layer" I cannot even flip the canvas ) thank you
  3. I've got a few shapes where, at some point in the past, I've flipped them horizontally. To my surprise, when I filled them with text, the text was also reversed. Is there a way to tell Affinity to not keep that information hanging around, and just make the text object normally? Personally I feel like it shouldn't behave this way (if I wanted reversed text, I'd flip it after adding the words). There are work arounds, like combining some geometry, even if it doesn't alter the shape, will resolve the issue. Thanks!
  4. Lots of times when I break a curve then play with the stroke pressure profile to widen or shrink the stroke widths... it would be super cool to have a quick flip feature to just switch the profile width direction, instead of doing it manually. Currently we have a "save profile" and "reset" button and there is still room in the centre for a "flip" button or the even repurposing the existing icon from the tool shelf could work here, see attached. :-)
  5. In this tutorial I will demonstrate how to use an Affinity Designer template with symbols to create a CSS sprite for an animated Jumping Jack. Download You will find the AD template for the animated Jumping Jack here on my website and the tutorial on my YouTube channel. Keep on drawin' Norbert
  6. When flipping canvas horizontally with the menu, everything updates quickly, as expected, but if you have a keyboard shortcut set up for this action, it seems to behave much worse. It will sometimes only update the area around the cursor, and won't fully update the display until you zoom in or out of the image. Let me know if you have trouble reproducing and I'll be more specific. Thanks Wayne
  7. Hey guys, Is there a way to reflect an object in Affinity Designer? I know I can duplicate an item, flip it and then move it to create the reflection. But is there a way I can do it in a single click? Thanks
  8. Hey guys, I thought it would be really convenient to add Flip controls to objects' bounding boxes. Basically what I'm proposing is to change the cursor when it hovers over the top/bottom and left/right control handles while INSIDE the bounding box - in distinction from the shear cursor which appears when hovering OUTSIDE the top/bottom and left/right control handles of an object's bounding box. Additionally, adding a modifier for duplicating (alt or option keys come to mind) would make this a slick timesaver and UI improvement and shouldn't be too hard to code. Check out the attached image to see a mock-up. Cheers guys, the apps are rocking more with each release! Preview: AD master file: Flip cursor.zip
  9. Is there an easy way to reflect an object along a line? Thanks.
  10. Hi just upland, Affinity Photo, but seams to see i can't rotate the image. Is this function not working?
  11. Since 1.) the Bug Report Section is closed, 2.) I can find no explanation for this, and 3.) the search tools do not seem to work well for finding information on the site, I am reporting this very annoying bug without knowing if it is already known, being worked on, being ignored, etc.: Transform position data sometimes messed up on flipped/rotated items (grouped and ungrouped) makes it very hard to position duplicated items with accuracy. Using Affinity Designer 1.3.5 on core i7 iMac running 10.8.5 After an items is flipped, the position information in the transform panel sometimes gets messed up. With rotation the axis of the item sometimes appears to get rotated with the object (!??) which is annoying since the position information in the translation panel becomes largely useless (left is right, up is down, etc.) While a problem in itself, it can often be noticed and understood as the transform panel indicates the item has been rotated. When an item is flipped, however, the axes are again sometimes flipped with the object (!??) This again makes the position information in the transform panel largely useless in positioning objects because again, left is right etc. More annoying however, there is no indication of the transform so one "just has to know" the position data is screwed up and useless. I have tried to replicate this, but have no sure way to do it. It seems to be arbitrary and non-standard behavior but may be related to multiple duplication and/or transformation/flipping (I'm creating parts duplicating them, and using them in another part of the drawing. Is this a known problem, file corruption or what? If I am missing something with the software, please let me know. PS why is bug reporting closed? How should bugs be reported?
  12. Hello there! Purchased Affinity Photo two days ago and I am (happily) on the (re)learning curve. I have to say, there went a lot of good thought in some of the altered features (compared to how they work in Ps), well done! Of course there will be quite a lot of questions. Some I can find here, some I couldn't. So I will ask here on the forum, putting the Ps nomenclature in the title for future Affinity-Turners that also say goodbye to Ps! My question: I am working on a composition in which I want to flip a layer horizontally. Ofcourse, using the move tool I can flip it but I only get it done stretching the image (out of ratio), which I don't want to happen. Searching the menu's I didn't see an option that seemed to fit but maybe I am looking for the wrong word (Ps term probably) or I am just too tired ;) Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance! Kind regards, Dennis G www.DeeGee.net Photography The Netherlands
