For selecting multiple objects in Layers panel you can use Shift-click method: click on first layer, then Shift-click on the last one = all layers between them will be selected. There is a little bug if the Shift-clicked layer is a text (artistic or text frame) causing that the text layer's Show/hide toggle is switched. If you continue Shift-clicking on the text object, the fun continues too: - second Shift-click switches the toggle back, - every next Shift-click switches the toggles of all the layers in the selection! This bug is in Publisher and Photo too.

Windows 10 Home 1909, Photo 1.7.3.481 and 1.8.0.526 beta. When I make a selection with the Rectangular Marquee Tool, then change to the Move Tool, I can move the selected pixels but the CTRL (clone) modifier – shown in the status bar – doesn’t seem to do anything. The SHIFT modifier does what I expect but the CTRL modifier doesn’t (see attached GIF). Is this expected behaviour, or am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug, or something else?

In photoshop it is very convenient to be able to drag a layer from one image and plop it in another open image. I haven't found a way to do that in AP yet. I suppose one could select the right layer, copy, then go to the new document and paste but it is so much easier to see the layer you want in the layer list, grab it and drag to the new document having it create a copy of the layer there. I've tried various things and ended up with frustrating results (it not creating a new layer but 'pasting' the image into an existing layer for one). Perhaps I'm just going about it wrong. Is there a way to do this drag and drop layer procedure with AP? -
Hello, I am using Affinity Photo App version 1.7.3.481 on Windows 10 Pro Intel i9 CPU 32GB RAM. While running Affinity Photo in batch mode for JPG processing (to apply custom macro filter) the tool is crashing right after hitting OK button in "New Batch Job" Dialog box. I have tried unchecking Parallel processing option but to no avail. Please find the marco file attached for replicating issue. JPG photo resolution is 1702x2560 pixel. The panel for path component customization/settings suffers from several problems (APh & AD). In the german UI the variable descriptions are partly not readable since cut off, either make the panel wider/bigger or the text for those descriptions smaller, so they are readable. User variables can't be entered here (OSX El Capitan), those text fields are pretty unusable and do stop and block entry after just one character has been inserted. I also pretty much doubt that own defined vars there would be usable and work at all. - Generally the whole panel design there is a nightmare and needs a huge rework. The online help related to these topics is also more than poor and a catastrophic!

Hi, on starting any of the affinity apps they crash and will not open. I have deleted the apps and reinstalled. No difference. I have deleted the container files. No difference. Hi, I would like to know is there any loss of image print quality if I print photos on my home printer that were developed in Photo then printed from within Publisher or Designer. Both Publisher and Designer have excellent capabilities when it comes to laying out multiple images on the same page that Photo on its own, e.g. printing comp images if multiple photos on a sheet of A4 photo paper. Hi. All I'm trying to do is save a rectangular selection (made with marquee too) to a file. However when I follow the instructions, repeated below in blue, the only file type that available is "afselection". I don't know what that is, but all I want is to save it as a JPG or PNG file. Please advise. Thanks. To save a selection to a file: With a pixel selection in place, from the Select menu, select Save Selection. Adjust the dialog settings as required. Click Save. -

Hi all, Hopefully I have posted this in the correct place, although I'm not convinced I have, apologies if so. I have a problem with a panorama I have made. I didn't think to take a second row of photos for the sky, but didn't like the balance of the picture once I had blended the pano. As such I extended the sky vertically in affinity, however this has created an odd looking sky. The real solution would be to get it right first time; I will make sure to take more than one row next time, even if it is just blank sky. Out of interest though, is there anything I can do to homogenise the sky so it's not separated into the vertical zones as below? I believe the zones have been created by the colour/intensity of the lights from the buildings. Origional pano, screenshot from capture one: Pano with sky extended, screenshot from Affinity: Workflow: the pano is comprised of 17 images, all shot in RAW (3.2 secs ISO 100, F5.6) and WB corrected to same value in capture one 20, then files exported as 16 bit TIFFs to PTGui where the pano was stitched, then opened in Affinity to use Mesh Warp to adjust perspective and in-painting to accommodate the warp. Hi. I am using Affinity Photo on two Windows 10 machines. On the machine I use for my photographic work I have Portrait Pro 18 and Affinity Photo 1. 7.2. 471. On the other machine that use for design work I have PP 17 and AP 1.7.2.471 so the same version of AP on each. On the machine with PP 17 AP opens PP as a plug in and works as expected. On the other machine it still crashes. On both machines PP works correctly in the latest AP Beta. Can anyone help? Is AP still broken with PP 18 for others? Thanks! Phil -
I still can see the behavior, that in Affinity apps opened image files are locked and thus are not accessable (can't be opened) for other apps like image viewers in parallel. Other applications don't behave this way and grab an exclusive lock.

Hi, i'm seeing an issue in Photo Windows v1.7.3.481 where the execution of brush strokes stops working correctly. The behavior is that suddenly only the beginning and end of a brush stroke registers, causing a straight line between the points. I'm still trying to figure out a reliable reproduction path. Copying scanned linework from one document to another. Just copy paste a few times, and then merging the layers down. The image gets blurred more and more each time I merge the layer down. Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening? I work with black & white pencil drawings a lot, and need to preserve the gritty feel of the lines.

Hello Affinity, I'm trying a workflow with presets for my images. In Affinity Photo (Photo persona) I edit one image to taste with adjustments, then export it as jpg. Then I want to save the adjustments layers as afphoto file, but with the actual image deleted. So only the (grouped) adjustmentlayers are in the file. But still the filesize of it is the same as with the actual image included, why is that? It should be only a few kilobytes I would think? In my case I'm editing a bunch of 16-bit PNG's, all about 600MB in size. The afphoto file if saved WITH image, about 800MB, is the same as when I delete the actual PNG but save only the adjustments. How can I only save the adjustments? kind regards, Frank -

Hi guys, I‘ve tried to open images from a network storage on my iPad, but the network section on the left side is missing. With every other app, e.g. Documents by readdle, it works and I have got access to the network. Not with affinity. The white picture is from Affinity, the black one from Documents. Are there any settings inside Affinity where I can activate it or is this feature completely missing? I‘m working on a 10.5“ iPad Pro with iPadOs 13.3 Thank you for your help in advance!

Hello Affinity people! Is there a chance we could see larger file previews in Finder / Path Finder? As of this moment all Affinity files' previews are tiny compared to PDF, JPG and all the other types of files, for that matter. Talking about Spacebar previews. Please check screenshots. Hi, I recently purchased Publisher and have an issue when I search for stock images. They take a long time to load and then everything freezes within the programme. When I scroll the images and more try to load the same thing happens. They do load eventually but it very slow and not entirely usable like this. I have also noticed that in certain situations, similar freezes happen with the Photo app too. I am using a fairly new laptop with an i7 processor and 16gb GB ram, and I do not experience lag/freezing issues within other programmes. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.

Affinity Photo. Windows 10 - 64 bit I have to draw many lines to make a drawing. I selected the "pen" tool with the "lines" modality and the "Add new curve to the selected object" option, which should cause all curves drawn after to end on one level. Does not work. Each curve I draw creates a new level, and I find myself having to manually "compact" all the layers one by one. Any suggestions? Thanks! I enclose an example screen.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question - can anyone help me with what edits I can make to picture A so that it looks like picture B? Picture B is actually Apple's RAW algorithm on my RAW file while viewing it in the file explorer and picture A is just my RAW file. I'm only a photo editing novice so I'm wondering if anyone else can help. Main thing I'm looking for help on is the face. Somehow Picture B looks very naturalistic, smoother, crisper, all at the same time while bringing out details that don't really even seem to exist in the RAW file. Thanks in advance for any help
