  1. Good morning everyone. I'll start by saying that I'm happy that Affinity exists, I've been using the suite for a few years now and I'm quite happy with it, so I thank everyone involved in its development. There is no doubt however (and everyone knows this) that it lacks some functions that would be fundamental, especially for certain work applications. I will only point out a few that in my opinion (and not only) are serious. 1. Affinity Designer a) Vectorization is missing. b) A function is missing (which Illustrator has) which is very interesting and useful for those who work with Pattern Design. The ability to work well with color palettes. Load them, apply them with a click to groups of objects each with multiple colors, and also the possibility, once a palette has been assigned, to "switch" the colors between all the objects, until a satisfactory combination is reached. With Designer you are forced to do everything "by hand" with a great waste of time and the possibility of limited variations. 2. The ANDROID tablet version is missing! Very serious! Not everyone can afford an iPad tablet, with the prices it has (me first!)! It completely cuts me off from working outside the home. I am in contact with several graphic designers who deal with (or who are taking courses to learn) Pattern Design. Many have expressed the desire to abandon Adobe Illustrator, but so far Affinity Designer is not such an attractive alternative, precisely because of the shortcomings it has. In my opinion, if you were able to resolve these points (without increasing the price, obviously!) you could count on many purchases of the suite, and you would have a big increase in sales and profits. And last, but not least, a big kiss from all the graphic designers at Pattern Design! Thanks!
  2. It would be a lot if they included "simple" vectorization, given that that too is missing and you have to use external software to do it!
  3. I was also referring to the transition from version 1 to 2... meaning that these functions have not been added so far. Not specifically the last update, maybe I didn't express myself well.
  4. I updated Designer to the latest version, 2.2.1 (on Windows 10) I was hoping to find some important features in version 2. 1. The possibility of vectorizing images has not been introduced. It is essential in a program that should be specific to work with vectors! 2. There is no possibility to make a quick and easy preview of a multiplied pattern (as there is in Affinity Photo). 3. There is no possibility of "recoloring" a vector drawing/pattern by automatically exchanging the colors of the assigned palette (as there is in Adobe Illustrator). You have to do everything "by hand"! At the moment, to create and modify a pattern design I have to use alternately 3 (THREE) different programs. - Inkscape (or other external software) to vectorize images and correct the vector/path thus created. - A. Designer to set the pattern by importing the vectors created with Inkscape. - A. Photo to be able to see the effect given by the pattern I created, after exporting it as JPG from Designer. And this a thousand times, until the result satisfies me. I believe that what I mentioned are some of the functions necessary to be able to work well with vectors and patterns. I hope that they will be implemented in "our" Designer as soon as possible! Thanks! Raffaella
  5. Ok. These are (almost) all "improvements" or fixes to existing bugs, NOT insertions of important and fundamental features like the ones I mentioned.
  6. I updated Designer to the latest version, 2.2.1 (on Windows 10) I have some doubts. I don't understand what has been fundamentally improved/added compared to the previous one, I think nothing! 1. The possibility of vectorizing images has not been introduced. And this a thousand times, until the result satisfies me. I'd say we're not there! I believe that what I mentioned are some of the functions necessary to be able to work well with vectors and patterns. I hope that they will be implemented in "our" Designer as soon as possible!
  7. Thanks! I couldn't fix this problem. I also don't want to install to drive "C".
  8. Grazie! It is not a DPI issue, because I did another test. I copied into the base image a whole image that is at 300 DPI, and it stays that way even when copied, but even with that the blurring problem happens if I do NOT rasterize it!
  9. Windows 10 Affinity Photo version: 1.10.5.1342 Applying a layer adjustment "HSL". When I use this adjustment and click on "MERGE" in the table, or use "MERGE BELOW" in the list of layer controls, in addition to the saturation adjustment a BLURRING is applied to the layer, which ruins it. I have tried different modes. Even "inserting" the adjustment layer into the layer to be edited (see attached file) the blur appears. Even when the adjustment layer is DESELECTED! If I rasterize this layer containing the HSL adjustment the blur remains, both with the adjustment selected and deselected. The only way it does not appear is if I group the layer to be edited with the HSL adjustment layer and then rasterize. But that is a cumbersome procedure. The adjustment should also work on its own, using the appropriate "MERGE" button! RaffaellaLunelli_prova_HSL.afphoto
  10. OK. Message received. No need to ask questions about RAW developers! 🤣
  11. Now I’m using Raw Therapee. That’s not the speech. There are a lot of RAW developers. It would be interesting to have one that is part of the Affinity suite, maybe even with quick interactions with "Affinity Photo".
  12. Thanks, I know, but only one at a time. And each starting from scratch! If I have 200 photos of an event for example (theater, concert, etc.) with similar settings, I need to be able to make a basic development common to all and only then, if necessary, intervene to correct the individual shots. The practicality of software dedicated to the development of RAw is just that !. Even in the Adobe suite with Photoshop you can develop the RAWs individually, but in order to do it with comfort and greater flexibility, Lightroom was born and is now always used!
  13. I'm learning to use the Affinity suite, with some difficulty breaking away from Adobe's habits, but I really appreciate the quality of the products. However... Now there is a strong lack of RAW development software, such as "Lightroom" or "Raw Therapee" to complete the offer for photographers and become independent from other software. Is it going to create it or not? Pleaseeeeee! Just do it! 🙏 Thanks! 😊
  14. I completely agree! I have the same problem. It would be enough if they grouped the saving options (different formats) in the "save as" command, as almost all other software do. Using a double "save" and "export" command only creates complications.
