  1. It would be great if de macros functionality also was enable on affinity photo for iPad.
  2. Hello, I've been using Affinity Photo for working all our online shop product Photos and it does a wonderful job. Once in a while I need to create a Macro to simplify my process and the last one I created is Guides for a square picture in percentage, but it seems that when the crop is different the guides calculate badly and don't appear properly in the places I need them to go right on the percentage I've calculated, because If I have to create this macro for all the different crops in the world, well, there is not much sense in creating a macro, I just end up with a list of thousands different actions. Thank you for the great software you have created. It's a pleasure to use it every day. Best, Anelia

    Macros

I am unable to open Skies.afmacros; I am informed that it is the wrong file type! I would like to reinstall this zip file but I no longer have the original of the email! Can I be sent the link again please? When comparing file size I see that the file is much smaller than the other macros and has the pro word uplift which I assume is is wrong. I have all the up lift epic skies files however. Many thanks.
  4. Hola, Acabo de subir un tutorial sobre Macros y Personalización de Affinity Photo. Espero que os guste.
  5. That isn't exactly true, they don't run if I click on the macro in the library panel but they will play if I right click, select edit macro, then click the play icon. What am I missing here. I watched the video on the uplift epic skies and the macro ran when he clicked on it in the library panel. Edit: I left out my OS version. It is 10.12.6. Also attaching a screen shot to show what I get when I run the macro from the edit column. Notice the uplift clouds layer and all it says is Sample description text so clearly it isn't working. I have reinstalled it several times and still behaves the same. None of the macros in the library will run.
  6. Affinity Photo (Version 1.5.2) - April 27, 2017 Hello, We would like to build a Macro that includes different layers to build some sort of 3D image impressions including a separate background. Below you'll find the exact steps we've taken so far: A. MACRO PROCESSING 1) Drag and drop a .jpg image into Affinity Photo 2) Activate Macro 3) Document --> Resize Document to 560px x 395px, Units: Pixels, DPI: 450, Resample: Bilinear, Resample activated/ticked --> Resize 4) Document --> Resize Canvas --> 640px x 640px, Units: Pixels, Anchor: Center --> Resize 5) Click on image with cursor/arrow --> Document --> Flatten 6) Transform --> S: -3 Degrees 7) C&P image, switch to last layer and Transform --> S: +3 Degrees 8) Move edited image (of last/lowest layer) accordingly and enter H-Value with a Delta of -20px 9) Effects --> Gradient Overlay 10) Layer --> New Layer --> Arrange --> Move to Back 11) Choose Flood Fill Tool --> Click into empty area --> Effects --> Gradient Overlay --> Type: Radial 12) Document --> Flatten 13) Stop Recording Macro 14) Add To Library --> Enter Macro name and hit OK --> Don't save the document B. BATCH PROCESSING 1) File --> New Batch Job process and choose "Save as JPEG" While the above steps (1 – 14) work perfectly fine when doing everything manually in Affinity Photo, it doesn't so when executed via Macro. To see the difference between Manual vs. Macro refer to the ZIP-Attachment below. C. QUESTION How can we build a Macro so that the final image looks EXACTLY like the one shown under manual conditions? Thanks, Pat Macro.zip

  8. The download instructions for the free macro pack say "Just click the download button to get your free macro pack. To install, open the .afmacros file or alternatively import from your Library panel." If I try to open a .afmacros file, I get a 'Failed to open file' dialog that tells me, "The file is not an Affinity document."
  9. Hi, since today update my Windows Affinity Photo does not recognize the macros and can not to import them.

    Macros Broken on Photo 1.6

Just updated to the new version (1.6.0.89) and my macros are gone, both the ones I downloaded and the ones I created in the previous version. I can bring up the import dialog, but it doesn't display any of the macro files I have on my drive. What should I do now? Windows 10, 64 bit
  11. I was recently trying to create a batch process to run macros, but did not get that far as I found that the macro did not record the actions within the external Topaz plugin. This is the first time I have tried macros and is therefore a disappointment, given Topaz documentation re PS CC actions support, I was anticipating Photo woudl be the same. That aside, my problem is now that whenever I try and record and save a macro to the library, the 'save to library' button causes an immediate crash. I have tried uninstalling and clearing down every possible reference I can find to Affinity Photo, and then reinstalling, but the problem remains. I have also just updated to the latest Mac El Capitan version, and repeated that exercise. The problem remains. What is noticeable is that following re-install, when launched the Photo application shows the Studio library window, which it does not remove be default. Therefore I suspect some component is remaining across my attempts to cleardown. Which also means the install process (dragging to recycle bin) is untidy. Can someone please advise? 12. I love Affinity Designer, please keep up the good work. It's coming along nicely, but I have run into some basic usability issues that significantly slow down my workflow. I think these would be useful for most users. Please add some form of vector trace - I am still keeping other vector apps for just this 1 feature. The Selection Marquee can’t select layers within groups - can this be added as an option or to the direct selection tool. With large documents, finding and selecting multiple layers really slows down the workflow. When ungrouping from a hidden group the layers don’t become hidden (which I would prefer) and I have to do that manually. Can they stay hidden by default unless I unhide the group and then ungroup, Can I change the highlight colour In Export tab When zoomed out with alot of slices. I can’t tell which slices I have chosen unless I have them all both selected and ticked. Please enable macros - this would be useful for many repetitive tasks making long shadows for example Again thanks for a great application. These are just suggestions (apart from number 1).
  13. One of the strengths of PS is the huge community around PS Actions and the use of these. Are there any similar for Affinity Macros (I know of the Macro Pack, but that's is not what I'm looking for)? I assume that some/most of the Affinity Photo users are moving from Photoshop to Affinity Photo (or at least know what you can do in PS), so I would suggest that the Affinity Photo team create some examples of macros to show how to do the “same” things as some of the PS Actions. This would also encourage the Affinity Photo community to contribute to making Affinity Photo a true competitor to PS. For inspiration and examples of what I'm talking about, you can take a look at https://www.youtube.com/user/sevensmalltrix/videos and at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7n-z4UZScI9OEURz_i7H0Q/videos If this already exists somewhere, I apologize and ask you to point in the right direction to where I can find it.
  14. Hi ! Recently I purchased Affinity Photo and it's my first post here I fall in love affinity Photo features, workflow and monthly fees free concept, but some bugs are really dissapointing. Considering to switch from adobe products to Affinity Photo, because it completely covers my needs. Really wish success to you, guys, and know how important feedbacks is, so there is one. Please forgive me, if I created theme in a wrong forum tree. I'm working in IT, my system is fast and clean, so please don't advise to turn off antivirus or smth. like that I already tried to tweak my machine perfomance, Affinity Photo perfomance and so on, but nothing helps. Have zero speed issues with Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop in described scenarios. They fast and furious My laptop specs: ASUS ZenBook UX330UA: Intel Core i5 6200U 2300 MHz / 13.3" / 3200x1800 / 8Gb RAM / 256Gb SSD / Intel HD Graphics 520 / Win 10 Pro Affinity Photo version: 1.5.2.69 Affinity Photo BETA version: 1.6.0.82 What I found during my work: 1) Tone Mapping persona is very slow. I'm processing 16MB 6114x4076 JPEG files and it takes about 1 minute to finish initial processing when swithcing to Tone Mapping Persona. Beta version, maybe, little bit faster. Not very noticable. 2) I created my own tone mapping preset and save it in my own folder in Tone Mapping Persona presets. After that, I created macros with one tone mapping action (which uses my preset) and save it in Affinity Photo library. Then, I created one batch job with 5 files and launched it - all my files were processed and placed into output folder correctly. Then, I closed Affinity Photo, relaunched it, and repeat my batch job in the same way. Photos were processed, BUT they were tone mapped by first default preset, not with my own. I tried to repeat and this hapened again. I recreated macros and found that it works fine. Closed Affinity Photo agian, relaunched it, and found that macros didn't work correctly again. Issue is reproduced not only with bacth mode. After relaunching Affinity Photo simple macros calling from library causes the same effect. 3) Tone Mapping macros batch processing is extremely SLOOOW!! IT takes about 3 minutes to process each photo by this way. More than, one photo processing time increasing with increasing of total photo number in batch. More photos, more time need for one photo processing. More than, Parallel processing increasing one photo processing time to about TEN minutes! Maybe, there is another way to tone mapping batch of photos, but I didn't find it. 4) I tried to do such macros batch job in Affinity Photo Beta. It cann't create tone mapping macros at all, failing with error. Macros Import from stable Affinity Photo version doesn't help. After such import Beta version cann't be launched, it fails during startup with error. 5) Time to time I'm catching another interesting bug: Studio refuses drag&drop photo import from folder. Studio reset helps. 6) Clarity in develop persona creates freaky white poster objects border effects on high meanings; 7) Develop Persona shadow recovery seems to be broken. It only adding grey tint to shadows, instead of pulling it. 8) Why after applying Develop Persona processing I can't return to it back again? History isn't saved. 9) 2 stops exposure Develop Persona tuning isn't enough. Need about 5 stops. 10) Develop Persona brushes and filters masks are dissapear after options tuning and cann't be called back again. Need to recreate filter/brush again. 11) Batch job editor doesn't remember previous settings
  15. When I create a macro of my own, and apply it to a camera raw file that I've opened and developed, it works fine. However, when I try to apply that macro, or any macro for that matter in a batch process, it over exposes the file to an unusable point. Even simply batch processing a raw file to a TIFF or any other kind of file, without a macro, over exposes the photo. It seems as though the photos need to be developed, then batch processed...? Is this true and how can I process my raw files like he does in the videos?
  16. Hello Serif & especially Patrick, Please can you tell me when Actions are going to be added to Affinity Designer? Being able to create macros/Actions is going to save a tremendous amount of time when repeating a series of events. Please, please can you tell me if this is coming out in version 6? Peaches
  17. I'm finding the transition from PS/LR to Photo fairly painless and am quite happy overall with the tools & features within the program. There are 2 tools that currently are holding me back from cutting the cord to Adobe: Macros. While you've done a remarkable job packing features into the Macros panel and they are operating surprisingly fast, there are a few improvements I'm hoping are in the not too distant future: A) the ability to record clipping a layer to another layer; B) the ability to move steps around in a macro; C) the ability to delete a step in a macro. Keep up the good work on this important tool! Metadata. The ability to edit metadata is VERY important. While I can do so in another program, the ability to put in things like Title, Description, & keywords from within Photo would simplify my workflow tremendously. I'm hoping to see something of these requests before another year goes by doling out dough to Adobe.
  18. The new Macros option on iPad is really cool, but in my humble workflow I use only iPad so I have no option to create Macros on my Mac, and then import them to iPad. Additionally this will be pointless on the go, when I have only iPad with me. So there is my question: Is there a option to create and save Macros on iPad? I try to find it, but it seems there isn't, so if there will be?
  19. I downloaded and opened the free macro packs and followed the instructions that came via PDF but I am unable to find them. I'm pretty new to Affinity so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I went to both "library" and "macros" and nothing appeared.
  20. I know this feature has been requested before (macros/actions), but it's not quite there yet for my needs. With the 1.5 update, Affinity Photo does have a basic macro recording function now, but it still does not eliminate the need for Photoshop from my workflow until I can assign custom keyboard shortcuts to the macros for rapid playback! I've been very impressed with Affinity Photo so far, and I really want to see it become a "Photoshop Killer"! I work in entertainment press photography, and we typically edit around 100-200 photos a night from an average movie premiere/event, or up to 1000 photos from a major awards show. We work at a rapid pace and on very tight deadlines, so speed is critical. My typical workflow in Photoshop ... - I need to be able to eyeball every single photo in a set and make rapid corrections with a series of keyboard shortcuts. Batch processing might work for some jobs, but looking at every single photo to make adjustments quickly is also frequently needed. - I usually open 200 photos in Photoshop at a time (Photoshop's limit) in a cascading stack, then do corrections to levels, sharpness, and maybe slight color correction if needed. - Save/close the file as JPEG 8, 300dpi at 3000x2000 px (Saved while closing the file with COMMAND-W on Mac) - Repeat until I'm done with all 200, and then work on an addition 200 files if needed - Then caption all the photos with the name of the person/people using Photo Mechanic What I would love to see in Affinity Photo is the same rapid editing ability that Photoshop has. For example, I would love to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to macros/actions that do something like the following: CTRL-SHIFT-F1 - Auto Brightness/Contrast CTRL-SHIFT-F2 - Brighten 10% CTRL-SHIFT-F3 - Brighten 20% CTRL-SHIFT-F4 - Auto Color Temp CTRL-SHIFT-F5 - De-Orange CTRL-SHIFT-F6 - De-Blue CTRL-SHIFT-F7 - Auto Sharpen CTRL-SHIFT-F8 - Sharpen 10% CTRL-SHIFT-F9 - Sharpen 20% CTRL-ALT-L - Last Used Level Adjustment CTRL-ALT-C - Last Used Color Correction CTRL-ALT-U - Last Used Sharpness Adjustment I think you get the idea :-) Another feature I would love to see is IPTC data creation/editing (or even basic awareness, passthrough). It's not an absolute must for me, since I use Photo Mechanic, which does an amazing job. However, I would not like to have a situation pop up where maybe I need to go back and do a quick edit to a file that has already been captioned in Photo Mechanic, but Affinity Photo doesn't save the existing IPTC data that's already in the file (ie. strips that info out). That would be "no bueno"! Thanks for listening!

    Macros

I tried the Macros feature. I recorded my actions but playback produced something different. You can see what happens in this short (less than 1 min) :
  22. Hi All, I've used macros in PS from time to time and they certainly help speed up batch processing a bunch of images. I am still a beginner in this sense however, and I need help, pretty please... I have a bunch of png files, black silhouettes with transparent backgrounds, that I want to invert and give a black background to. I have made the macro (it's included in this attached file of standard macros) and it works when I test it on an individual file, but when it comes to batch processing the whole lot of files using this macro, they all come out black on white rather than white on black. Can someone help me please? Tone Mapping.afmacros
  23. I know you can untick a macro step. It would be good to be able to delete a step. It would also be good to re-order a macro and, or record a macro from a certain step.
  24. When I try to record a macro for resizing pictures to exact pixels, the macro records the transform process in terms of percentages applied to the resulting file. That's convenient, but it would also be convenient in exact number of pixels, regardless of the size of the initial file.
  25. Well... the subject :) I was searching help and online tutorials, but failed to find the definite answer. If it is not possible, please consider it as a feature reqiuest
