  1. Can affinity add a feature like Photoshop that changes text rendering antialiasing to "none"? In PS, there are at least 5 rendering modes available for text selection, which are very useful, especially None. I didn't find this feature in affinity, where can I find it? In None mode, the text is displayed as shown in the following image. his is what it looks like in Affinity, when turning antialiasing off (same file),It looks ugly and can no longer be read: Here are the files and fonts, which have been bothering me for many years. I have been buying V1 to V2, but the PS cannot be thrown away, which is a big reason. SIMLI.TTF test.psd
3. That's great! What is the time on that fix likely to be? The 2 important tags are 'XMP::CreateDate' and 'XMP::photoshop DateCreated'. Currently it seems that AP isn't handling those correctly, and splitting the photoshop one up as described above.
  4. Are you able to say how because I can't get it to work. I can see it as a choice when I click on "filters/plugins" (that is, it is in black and not greyed out) but when I choose it, nothing happens ... the app doesn't open. I also have On 1, DXO and Luminar Neo installed as plugins and they work just fine. HELP, if anyone can. SORRY! IGNORE ... I'm trying to get Topaz Studio 2 to work, not Photo A!!
  5. This has been on my silent wishlist for Designer for ages, finally getting around to requesting it. Illustrator has a set of color adjustment tools similar to the kind you'd find in the adjustments of Photoshop, typical things like color balance, convert to RBG/CMYK, black and white, etc. These adjustments are destructive and change the set color values of fills, outlines, and gradient points on vector objects. I use this alot when doing slight warming or cooling adjustments to my vector illustrations before posting to adobe stock. Affinity Photo has color adjustment tools, but they create non-destructive adjustments layers, which are stripped away when exporting to SVG or EPS for stock use. It would be super convenient to have really simple color adjustment tools in Designer to edit vector color values. My wishlist for color adjustments would include: - Simple RGB/CMYK balance sliders - Whitepoint/Temperature adjustment (to cool down or warm up colors overall) - Black and White conversion with color sliders (so you could make yellows into lighter grays, reds into darker grays, etc.) - Convert to RGB/CMYK (to quick remove mixed color values that may be present from pasting between files) - Saturation slider - Convert to Tone (pick a color tone to change all selected objects to the same color value while maintaining light/dark tone variations) A bit of a niche use case, but i feel like it would be useful to alot of designers to have permanent color adjustment as an option. It's hard to adjust vector colors in Designer on complicated images in a way that keeps them compatible with stock imagery creation. Screen Recording 2024-04-04 at 12.14.07 PM.mov
  6. It would be awesome to get the performance and settings for this brush similar to Photoshop's mixer brush where the brush can sample the pixels from the document and bring all the information, textures, and colors with it. Much like the performance/differences found in this video. Using the Mixer Brush Tool
  7. Attached is a video of the main issue - it depicts me moving the Apple Pencil across the canvas, but where it SHOULD stay visible, it disappears at the 'edges' of every visible layer. To add insult to injury, it also depicts that when i try to draw outside this boundary, it visually cuts off, and only when you stop drawing, or move the canvas, does what is drawn outside of this 'box' become visible. Here is how this issue is replicated: This is somehow a result of importing a PSD file into Affinity. This artwork was originally created in Affinity, converted to PSD, edited in Photoshop, then imported back into Affinity. So the original Affinity file does not have this issue. Attached also are: 1. The Affinity file observed in the video, which displays the problem (Officer Barnaby.afphoto) 2. The 'original' Affinity file pre-PSD export, which does not have the problem (UNISEX TEMPLATE) 3. The PSD file I imported into affinity, which technically becomes the affinity file observed in the video. (Officer_Barerra) Exporting to PSD, then importing the edited PSD is a really important part of my workflow - I'm working on an animation project, so any workarounds that would fix the issue with the hover bug & drawing delay would be really appreciated. I tried exporting the afphoto file, then importing it, but the problem persisted. RPReplay_Final1711473283.mov Officer Barnaby.afphoto UNISEX TEMPLATE.afphoto Officer_Barerra.psd
  8. I get this with Adobe Photoshop and to a lesser extent Adobe Illustrator, all other apps are generally okay. Sometimes Affinity apps start in like 3 seconds, other times it can be 20-30 sec, i think it depends on how much they've had to drink the night before lol!
  10. Loading Photoshop brushes into Affinity is pretty simple. But sometimes brushes have cool effects that require some extra steps. In this video, we’ll look at loading a simple Photoshop brush and a more complex brush into Affinity Photo
  11. Hello, I posted this on another thread , but it has been closed . It would be very nice to mirror or send the output of affinity to the SDI output of the blackmagic ultrastudio to verify the look on a broadcast monitor. Blackmagic design has a plugin for photoshop... but since i use (and love affinity.... ) i can't output to SDI anymore ! Is there a chance to make this possible ? (or make the photoshop plugin compatible ?) or does anyone know a software solution to make this possible? (Mirror outpu,t second desktop etc ) ? Sienna is not avaliable anymore ! thanks ! peter
  12. Sadly can't try that as I don't have Photoshop and the option to install plugins is greyed out.
  13. Has anyone been able to use the photoshop "MODIFY" plugin? I have tired to install it manually with no luck? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Edgardo
  14. It seems that's why @NotMyFault posted the links . – At least since Photoshop's values 1-12 (not 0-100%) it might be obvious that there is no absolute unit for jpg quality/compression. – This article, comparing Photoshop/Gimp jpg compression & subsampling may even more surprise: https://blogs.gnome.org/raphael/2007/10/23/mapping-jpeg-compression-levels-between-adobe-photoshop-and-gimp-24/ Possibly Serif has no interest to publish Affinity code or sources … but a "licenses.rtf" file in the app package might indicate that IJG is involved at least. (and note: it is forbidden to call it "IJG" ;•) I wonder what this arithmetic coding option may be? (or has been, considering the age of this article and/or code).
  15. Thanks for your reply, Thomoso. Phocus software, unlike Affinity, does not indicate whether a flash was fired or not. I don't know if Photoshop or CaptureOne do, either. Regardless, other than manually entering one's IP info as metadata (e.g., copyright), the rest is just there in the RAW file as far as I know — generated automatically. So I'm still wondering what factors, if anything, with perhaps any other camera's RAW files, but not excluding the Hasselblad, are looked at by Affinity to determine and annotate if a flash fired or not.
  16. Hello, I have a problem with a specific photoshop plugin that I like. Here's my info (following the bug report scheme): 1) Affinity Photo 2.4.1 2) Yes, i just updated from 2.3.0. 3) I can reproduce it every time. 4) It happens for both new documents and loaded files. 5) Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit I tried with hardware acceleration on and off. Same results. I used this plugin on an RGB image (sRGB, 24 bit): https://www.robotplanet.dk/graphics/supersaturation/ and it does nothing. The preview window inside the plugin works normally though. This plugin also works fine in both Photoshop CS2, CS3 and CS5 as well as the cloud version (tested about a year ago). I seem to recall that this plugin did work in some previous versions of Affinity Photo (2.3.0 if memory serves), but I'm not 100% sure about that. PS: The above plugin exists in both 32 and 64 bit versions. It is free.
  17. In game dev (and I suspect many other mediums) tiling textures are CRUCIAL. Photoshop makes turning a non seamless texture into a seamless texture quite simply with its pattern preview feature and allowing the clone stamp to wrap back around when passing one side of an image to place the rest of the stamp on the opposite side, it also allows for easy previewing of how it is going to look in the final implementation when being tiled. Here is a video I could find demonstrating the tiling feature, the timestamp is at where it starts to become really useful (I doesn't however demonstrate the clone stamp I mentioned)
  18. I have a load of Photoshop shape files I've collected over the years and it always bugged me that there wasn't an easy way to import each .csh file into Affinity, especially now I have got rid of Photoshop all together. Fortunatley I saved all my PS plugins and shape files before uninstalling. I have just found a website which lets you upload the .csh files and then you can download each shape as a .svg vector image. It is then a slightly laborious process of open each vector svg file in Affinity and adding them to your Assets. Here's where you can upload your PS shape files: https://www.photoshopsupply.com/vector/csh-to-svg
  19. Anyway, I feel the origin of the ITPC is largely irrelevant as if AP handled it correctly, I.e. not insert the photomach tag and keep it in photoshop, then the issue would be resolved.
  20. Hoping to re-create this Photoshop file in Affinity Photo. The masks are what confuse me the most. Dan C helped with replacing the images in a previous post (Thanks) but I would like to be able to create similar ones from scratch for myself, or do I need to use Affinity Designer or Affinity Publisher. 018.psd
  21. When I import swatches using the “Import Palette…” item, I should be able to select palettes saved from Photoshop (ACO – Adobe Photoshop Color Swatch File) or Illustrator (ASE – Adobe Swatch Exchange File). Are there foreign palette formats that AD can import? Maybe that information should be in the Open dialog box… or somewhere. (The Help Center doesn’t seem to do anything. I can search for a topic like “palette,” but can’t expand the results, so maybe the AD entries are just stubs?)
  22. Hey peeps, As a professional graphic designer, (mostly Photo editing / manipulation and illustration) i am a heavy Photoshop user. Specially with the AI help inside Photoshop, changing things are a walk in the park these days. I own Photo and Designer V1. Designer replaced my Illustrator needs when things go vector. It is a bumby ride sometimes when i work with teams that are in a Adobe space (most are), but so far i found my way. So, here I am, working with Photoshop and still holding off updating to V2. The Spring sale is lurking me in.. but i wonder how far Photo V2 can go compared with Photoshop. I dont expect the same AI controls Photoshop has, but lets say.. selecting things propper with a click.. things like that... Is there a proffesional here that made the switch fully and how did it turned out? EDIT: I have watched tons of youtubes about Photo V2. The thing is.. most of them are a bit biased / or at least anti Adobe.
  23. When working with others we use .PSD because its so universal, not .afphoto however being able to set .PSD as the main file format for a project instead of having to re-export files would be appreciated. I don't know if thats possible or not with the way .PSD operate but I hope so, it would save a lot of file saves.
  24. Edit/Preferences/Plugins Select the folder & hit the remove button
  25. I'm a bit late to the party, but is there actually also a way to tilt the brush like in photoshop? Painting shadows in perspective for example, is way more easy that way. Cheers.
