    - vectorizing pictures
    - vector patterns (actually pixel patterns)
    - duplicate along path
I would like to see this function in a "container"
Object Duplicate > numbers of copies or length between each copy / start / end
          - path
          - object
    - gradient between curves
    - deformers
    - noise for gradient (actually only one limited noise)
    - spiral tool
    - perspective grids with vanishing point
    - measurement tool
    - more fields when you do a dotted line (only 4 when sometimes you need 6). I have to use the Appearance panel.
    - 3D tool (extrusion)
    but the most important :
    - new cat objects

I had no idea Pixelmator was like that but then again I am a Windows guy. I am more than happy to pay for Major upgrades but a subscription model is something I don't like and why I loath Adobe....

A subscription model is nothing more than the compulsion to accept an offer. Eat or die.
Every now and then, a paid update in between is no problem if you can decide for yourself whether to accept the offer.
(In this point, however, Affinity has let us starve a little too long ... and perhaps itself too).

I agree with your point, and that's why I understand why Affinity is still lacking lots of essential features. I'm fine with that, and I'll patiently wait for their progress.
But the lack of Arabic Language support is not another "feature request" we are asking for, it is the reason why I can't use my purchased Affinity programs in an effective and creative way. (and millions of RTL users can't join Affinity)
Please make the Affinity suite useful for everyone around the globe!

Not for me. Not by a long shot.
I have mentioned this before, we need to realize that Serif is working with limited resources. If we make the comparison with Adobe and their vast company (read resources) then we can draw the conclusion that Serif is doing a marvelous job! They are also not charging us an arm and a leg for a beautiful program.
Perhaps we need to be a little more patient.
    Best Regards Peter.

May be robust scripting then? This is really huge task which may well worth a year(s) of development... But... why there is no scripting? why???
    (i`m patiently waiting anyway)

"Someday when Affinity offers scripting it would be easy to create a calendar wizard. I might write a script to draw stylized calendars because it would be straightforward and a fun project. But then once you've done that somebody will want holidays and you'll spend a lot of time finding a source of international holiday data. And then somebody will want you to add support for the 13-month Coptic calendar and the next thing you know it will no longer be a fun little project and will be real work. I think I've already talked myself out of it."
And the formulae for calculating both Passover and Easter are ... a course of higher mathematics away.

It’s nothing wrong with the ambition to replace the Adobe suit for some of its users, and it’s pretty obvious that Photo/Designer/Publisher aims for Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign.
That is actually how I use them, and l’ve been using the Adobe products for a long time (all the way back to Aldus Pagemaker days!). But you have to set your expectations accordingly and accept that you will stumble on various WTF:s when some feature is missing or not working as well as the Adobe equivalent.

...well, that's because to talk to their audience many journalists started their articles by asking "Is this app the Adobe killer?" It's a shorthand way of describing the software that has led to the expectations. You cannot blame people for having that expectation when it is used so often to describe it to a new audience

Any software is not a fully developed software. This is the reason why every software has updates !
I will be happy to pay for AD 2.0 with essential features : vector patterns, blending shapes, converting pixel image in vectors, grids with vanishing point, deformation (with box, lattice, etc), duplicating and editing objects along curves.
Just one of these features will make me happy !

I am one who came to Affinity because of the Adobe subscription model. I don't mind paying for worthwhile upgrades every now and then.

Software Development is hard to maintain and to do. Model subscription? Bad idea. Some business model like major version and small upgrade payments looks better.
People has to feed everyday. Developers, maybe each two days ☺️.
Recently I've bought Designer and Photo, I'm trying Publisher now and I think It will be next bought.
Thanks Affinity! I'm learning a lot with your apps.

A subscription plan will make me walk away on the day it comes out .... if it ever happens. And I would not be the only one I'm sure.
A permanent Internet connexion to be able to use the software would get me do the same thing.
So many users walked away from Adobe to go to Affinity... why would they do that ?
But I dont worry very much about that.

Serif would shoot itself in the foot when they switch to a subscription, or a permanent internet connection, then I can also take Adobe right away.
The only chance in the market for Serif is the perpetual license, the price and of course what you get for the money (and that's really remarkable).
In the words of Grant Petty, CEO and founder of Blackmagic Design
“Cloud licensors are like slumlords. You have to keep buying from me and the more you’re loyal, the more you’ll get penalized. It’s like your dog does something nice and you beat it with a stick.”

As far as I'm concerned, they can also launch a paid version every year, provided that appropriate features are built in.
That way, money will definitely come into the till.
I hope for an early V2 and also a Update-Bundle price for Affinity Studio would be nice.

It was hardly without notice! Serif made it very clear, years ago, that they were no longer going to sell or support the old "Plus" range of software. They also made it clear what the three new Affinity apps would be and that they did not intend to replace WebPlus or MoviePlus. There have also been a number of posts in these forums, mentioning that the old, legacy, software is no longer supported by Serif.

Those are still a thing?... hard to compete with the amount of CMS' available and sites like Canva, etc. Editors are impractical for what I do.

    Just my two cents.
A forced subscription would just make me stay at 1.x forever, I only use this software as a hobbyist and I don't want to have monthly payment required to use it. I also don't see how any professional would want this, pay forever or you lose access to all your work.
Any form of internet or challenge/response activation would also put me off. This was my main reason together with the beautiful UI for choosing Affinity in the first place. This would make it possible for Serif to pull to plug on any version whenever they'd like, similar to how Adobe no longer allows older CC versions because of licensing issues. And no this has nothing to do with piracy, if I wanted to do that I'd just pirate PS and the problem with older CC versions wouldn't exist either.
I trust Serif isn't going down this road, just detailing my thoughts.

The subscription model if you want to call it that I think would work for Serif is the model the UI app Sketch uses. When you buy you get 1 year of updates then after that you can still continue to use the software going forward. If at some point you see updates you think are worth it you pay the renewal fee for another year of updates. Doing this affinity would need to be consistent with updates.

Well, I have just been surveyed by the Affinity Team. It looks like they are preparing to release the next paid update. One of the questions asked suggested a possible subscription option in paying for Affinity. Well, if it is offered alongside paying for the software and owning a version, then there would probably be no harm in that. Hopefully a bundle price will also be upcoming for Affinity Studio.

Back to serious things. Really hoping this will be scripting (with deep document-altering possibilities) and not some 3D-bla-bla-stuff. Lack of scripting is a real major workflow limiter for now  just 5 cents
