@Mike Nagel Welcome to the forums!  If you want a quick and dirty way to add snow, here is another way to do it.  Not as neat and precise as yours, but definitely snowing!  You can delete any of the pixel layers within the "Snow" group, to make things less intense.  If you would like to try, here is my "generic snow layers " document which you open in Photo, then add your own image below it.  (Made a macro of this, then deleted it.  Going to try again.)

I don't know if the Affinity developers are aware about the usage of Illustrator, Affinity Designer and similar softwares to draw maps. It is very handy and the final figure are best than when we draw in GIS softwares. MapPublisher is a plugin that link Illustrator and GIS softwares. I highly recommend that Affinity think about to build something similar. I am sure they will bring many geologists, cartographer, ... to the Affinity users.

Just a vague feeling I have from reading the forums, but I think there are equal numbers of Mac and Windows users reporting issues, possibly even more Mac users than Windows users.
Personally, I'm on Windows and not having any general problems, but my files aren't very complex.

Patrick, I appreciate the response and the later assurances that things are being worked on behind the scenes.  That's a relief for me.
As to others on here, you know they release updates for all three products at the same time.  So, if they're working on a mega update it won't be released until it's ready for the entire suite of apps.  I think they collected a lot of information from all past beta waves and rather than releasing incremental packages I'm guessing they are doubling down on fixing as many issues as they can before the next release.

I love the product,  can't wait to see what they do with it.

I think you will find that the object is there in the exported GIF, bug much tinier than you may be expecting.
    Here's a 1000 x 1000 px document I started with:

    Here's the 1000 x 1000 px GIF file I exported:

There's a very tiny bit of red in the center of that exported file. When zoomed to 500% I see this in the center of the GIF:

That's not what I would have expected, but it seems related to the "Palettized" setting (see More...) and specifically to the default Automatic palettization that occurs.

We are pleased to announce an update for the macOS release of Affinity Publisher, version 1.10.0
    Changes in this build
The detailed changes in Affinity Publisher for MacOS 1.10.0 over the release build Affinity Publisher for macOS 1.9.3 are as follows:
    Fixes & Improvements:
Improved performance with: Heavily layered documents (faster rendering during panning and text reflow) Editing speed with long stories Placed images Embedded documents Low-memory conditions Placed PDFs set to Passthrough Documents containing placed documents (Resource Manager) Smaller PDF export file sizes when multiple copies of the same passthrough PDFs are present. Better output of placed PDFs set to Passthrough exported as PDF formats that do not support Passthrough. Added support for most emoji  Improved IME text editing for Japanese and Simplified Chinese languages. Implemented OpenType character variant samples and parameter names. Import keyboard shortcuts from IDML files. Resource Manager: New Relink option for missing resources. New File Type column. EPS files can be linked. Various stability improvements and assorted other fixes. Help and localisation improvement.
UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers)
The software version can be seen on the splash screen and the About dialog (in application menu, Affinity Publisher > About).
If you’ve purchased from the Mac App Store— updates are done automatically next time you run your software after it is available in the Mac App Store. If this does not happen for you, open the Mac App Store app and go to the Updates page and then Store > Reload page or press CMD+R. This should hopefully force the update to show. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world which can mean it may take up to 72 hours for your update to be available.
If you’ve purchased from the Affinity Store— each time you start the software it will check for updates and offer to download and install any available update, or in the application main menu there is an option Check for Updates. You can download the latest installer by logging into the affinity store here and find the order in your account and use the "download" button in there. Alternatively, this new release (and previous versions of Affinity Publisher for macOS) can be downloaded from this link (that installer is NOT for Mac App Store purchases and needs a product key).

    Changes This Time
    - Added 'Select Parent', 'Select Top' and 'Select Bottom' for helping with selecting commonly required elements. This is super-useful for large documents where using the layers panel is very difficult
    - Tweaked a recently introduced rendering issue with clips and blend modes
    Changes Since 1.9.3
    - Potentially huge performance improvements for large documents. We've spent a long time looking at this and have improved performance many-fold for large documents and improved scalability. If you have particular documents that still appear 'too slow' then feel free to share them with me and I'll do my best to look into them
    - Memory handling improvements
    - Support for Emojis in text tools! 😁👌🏻
    - Further performance improvements to general operations
    - Misc text performance improvements
    - SVG import and export tweaks
    - Fixed PDF Export group opacity potentially being applied twice
    - Fixed potential crash when quitting with layers still on the clipboard
    - Fix for Trotec Job Control incompatibility
    - Improvements to noise rendering when used on colours
    - Fix for inserting an embedded document, which was incorrectly favouring an in-memory version of the document if you were trying to add it again
    - Fix for a potential deadlock most often noticed while painting with a pixel brush
    - Fix for documents being offered to the clipboard in RGB8 format even when the document is CMYK, for example
    - Fix for SVG export failing to correctly deal with stretched text when the user selects 'flatten transforms'
    - Fix for SVG import not functioning correctly with whitespace between the keyword "translate" and the following opening bracket
    - Fix for a potential deadlock when opening files with many (potentially large) images
    - Many text tweaks - particularly relating to how pinned objects are handled when opened from a Publisher document
    - Potential view drawing speed improvement
    - Localisation improvements
    - Help improvements

    ---
We are pleased to announce that Affinity Publisher Customer Beta 1.9.2.1006 is now available as a download from the link above.
If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.
This beta is an incremental update from the 1.9.1 version recently released to all customers (although it still installs parallel to the released version, as described above). We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the store version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below.
    ---
    General
Fix for Replace Image moving Picture Frame content unnecessarily
Significant performance improvements for assets (import, export, organisation, etc.)
Open PDF swaps top and bottom bleeds
Failure to create an object style if the only delta was line weight

Pinned nodes could be wrongly moved into overflow
Redraw issue resizing Table with insets
RTF Import: Paragraph style from footnote destination was leaking into main text
Font Size drop menu now sends updates when keys are used as well as mouse
