walt.farrell Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 I think you will find that the object is there in the exported GIF, bug much tinier than you may be expecting. Here's a 1000 x 1000 px document I started with: Here's the 1000 x 1000 px GIF file I exported: There's a very tiny bit of red in the center of that exported file. When zoomed to 500% I see this in the center of the GIF: That's not what I would have expected, but it seems related to the "Palettized" setting (see More...) and specifically to the default Automatic palettization that occurs. md_germany and Optische Ausrichtung 2 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. md_germany Posted September 15, 2021 Author Posted September 15, 2021 Sorry, but I was waiting for this answer. For me, it is important that a software programme works. This means that if GIF is offered, a perfect GIF must also be produced. If it is not offered because there are better solutions, then it is something else. My decision for GIF results from the difference in size. PNG 430 KB, GIF 286 KB. For internet applications, I actually always prefer the documents with a small amount of data, but I always like to take tips from professionals. nbmalin Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I'm running APhoto 1.10.6 and having the same problem. Is the bug here fixed in the newer version 2 of APhoto? One workaround is to save as png, and then use convertio.co to convert from png to gif. Not ideal, but it works. Quote
