    I've been using Affinity Photo and Designer since nearly their respective launch dates, and I continue to hold hight hopes for this company and it's products. I recently decided to begin a transition to an entirely mobile workflow, utilizing an iPad Pro 10.5, Affinity Photo, and any additional apps needed to do the work I wish to do. I'm almost a week into my new mobile journey, and I'm not only blown away by this setup, I have little desire to work on anything else. Can't wait to see how AF for iPad improves! If the app devs are reading this... ADD MASK REFINEMENT IN PHOTOS PERSONA, PLEASE!
     
    Anyway, here's a 6-image composite of my niece on her Jurassic Easter Egg Hunt.

    I must say that I'm surprised this composite has not got as many 'likes' or 'comments' as I think it deserves.
    It has a quirky quality and a charm that I thought would appeal to many.
    Anyhow. . .I still like it.

    I've wanted to keep all my projects in one topic, but I think it won't hurt if some of them get their own spot. So here's "Vacations in Paradise" - composition that I've just finished for some "Monthly Challenge"
    (but mostly for fun). I'm actually proud of this one.
    It was a little tricky to put the dog and a woman into the car (had to remove side mirror, mess with her arms, tinker with the perspective and windshield  etc.), but apart from that, it went rather well. Took me about 3-4 hours. Enhanced with Color Efex Pro (Pro Contrast profile).

    It is true to say that I like the element of humour above all else in my photo composites. That's not to say I have no serious creative side, and there are times when this serious aspect of my character has a need to be fed when it surfaces. I like to play around with the results of my photography in the sense that, I experiment and try to turn an image into something completely different than what the camera lens has captured by employing heavy, picture altering manipulation, and editing techniques. I begin such endeavours with no clear idea or preconceived plan, it's a case of let's see what happens.
    The picture below actually came from a photograph I took of an LED light cluster underneath a shelf in my lounge. You may have seen these advertised on TV. They are tiny, round light arrays which have a sticky gummed bottom that you can attach anywhere you please - they are very bright. I set up the shoot by turning all other lights out in my lounge except the LED cluster. I angled the camera in such a way that it was not looking directly into the light but trained it more on the reflection coming from the underside of the shelf which is highly polished. The picture itself, once taken, looked quite ordinary and appeared to be exactly what it was - a picture of a light underneath a shelf!
    I do many photo shoots of odd things just for the sake of manipulating them into something else. I pull them in liquify, clone them, cut them, crop them, warp them, alter the colour, erase parts, duplicate parts, flip parts, copy and paste parts, or anything else that takes my fancy until a certain point is reached when I can clearly see an end result in sight. Once this vision has taken place I then build upon that to create the vision itself.
    So. From starting a shoot with nothing particular in mind, this image is a good example of how something which came from the most unlikeliest source has been transformed into something very different but easily recognisable.

    Hello everyone!
     
    I've been working as a motion designer for 10+ years and I used Illustrator as a side software, mainly for pulling out usable bits from stock vectors to use in After Effects. Both Illustrator and Photoshop got bulkier and less responsive as they age, so I got used to drawing inside After Effects using the limited tools it has. Tried my luck in drawing with Illustrator a few times over the years to no avail, I don't have a single finished artwork from it.
     
    Luckily I saw one of the artists Serif commissioned while I was searching for some inspiration for my upcoming self project. I checked his other artworks, read the interview about Affinity Designer, then read some more  reviews and user comments from Reddit. Installed trial, everything was buttery smooth and so much practical in comparison. Price was a bargain but it was even more so with the regional pricing in Microsoft Store, so I ended up buying it the next day.
     
    Long story short, I finished this piece yesterday for my debut illustration in Dribbble. I know it is not much and I definitely got influenced by the initial artworks where I discovered AD, but know that I'm an animator who couldn't draw a proper looking vector piece before. Really looking forward to drawing more in AD. I just wish there was a straightforward solution for importing inside After Effects with layers, just like the .ai files.

    The lion and the unicorn were fighting for the crown,
    The lion beat the unicorn all around the town.
    Some gave them white bread, and some gave them brown;
    Some gave them plum cake and drummed them out of town.
    I thought it would be much better if they made it up and went for a pint at The Crown.
     
    It's done in Designer, with a couple of brief excursions into Photo to blur the background and stop it competing with the important bits, and to reduce the brightness of the unicorn a little. The woodgrain and the badges on the beer pulls are bitmaps acquired online, but otherwise everything is my own.

    I have better things to do with my time than remembering which of several email addresses I used when signing up with various forums!
     
    If you like spam, there’s nothing to stop you changing your username to match your email address. You can even include an ‘at’ sign, which strikes me as a stupid thing for the forum software to allow in a username, but something of the form ‘moniker-at-example-dot-com’ would help you avoid putting too much strain on either your brain or your mailbox.

    When you have calmed down..... It seems that this setting was overlooked when we last upgraded the forums, and had gone back to the forum default of username only. I have just checked the Admin UI and was pleased to find that "username OR email" is an option (it has annoyed me too, though far less than you clearly). 
     
    Please retry, and keep the personal insults to a minimum or you may find the forum regulars less interested in assisting you. We "fools" who work here have less choice in the matter, but still have some.
