      Please use the Questions section in the main forum to post any questions you may have. This is the private feed area of an user like you.

      Regarding your question, yes you can insert an image or drawing/sketch you have drawn by hand and paint/draw over it using the software tools. To insert an image in a document go to menu File ▸ Place and select the image/drawing you want to use as a reference then click (or drag a marquee) on canvas to insert it in the document. You can also simply drag the file from a file explorer window (on Windows) or from Finder (on Mac) to the canvas of an opened document in Affinity apps.

      Regarding your question, each platform requires its own license so if you also want to work with the application on your MAc you have to acquire a license for Mac buying it from the Mac App Store.

    I, too, am having an embarrassingly difficult time trying to update Affinity Photo to the latest version 1.6.7.  It shouldn't be this hard to figure out how to update, should it?  (I've been using computers since the 1980's-I'm on a MacBook Pro 2017, using the most current OS).

      Regarding your question: the latest version of Affinity Photo for Mac (desktop) is v1.6.6. We haven't released v1.6.7 for Mac yet. Only for the iPad (iOS).

    when dragging objects and shapes on a document it doesn't allow me to make small adjustments, only allowing me to move them almost in a grid like formation, is anyone able to help, i have checked document setup and couldn't see anything it might be on there - Thank you

      You probably have Snap to grid ticked in the Snapping Manager (menu View ▸ Snapping Manager...). Untick it to disable Snap to grid.

      Let me know if you still have trouble.

    Hi Any, have just stumbled across your forum entries for Official Affinity Designer and Official Photo (Desktop) tutorials. Your listing of all the videos under appropriate headings is great. I've been accessing them one by one in no particular order simply from YouTube (or Vimeo) and having an overview of all the tutorials and seeing them listed by category is really helpful. Two questions: 1. Are the listings in the forum pages current? They have dates of 2015 and I can't tell if newer videos are included in the lists. 2. Can you make the links to these listings more visible on your website? Even in all my searches, I never came across these listing in the forum, and feel lucky to have just stumbled on them when following the link in someone's comment. Thanks, Joan

      Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

      Yes, they are current. Those threads may be from 2015 (when they were created) but the contents are updated regularly.

      There's links to the tutorials on our website (menu from the top right) but they point to YouTube/Vimeo. We do note in the description field that you can See a full list of official tutorials at affin.co/PhotoTuts but i agree it's may not be visible/noticeable enough.

       

      Please use the main forum section(s) for questions like these rather the staff's or user's profile's feeds as they may be missed.

    I am having a problem with the colour wheel. There is a white patch of colour on the wheel which shouldn't be there. When I try to add a colour the actual colour I want does not display properly. I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest version.

      Go to File ▸ Document Setup..., Colour tab and check the Colour Profile dropdown. Change it to sRGB (or other adequate profile if you are working for print) and it should display correctly.

      Hi kidoextrem,

      Just an update to notify you that this issue/error has been fixed in Affinity Designer 1.6.1 Beta. The fix will also be included in the next retail update so the file should then export without the need to rasterise the first layer.

    Hi. I was using Affinity Photo 1.6 on a Mac (10.13.1). The Nik Collection was not functioning, so I uninstalled with the Uninstall. Now My Affinity Photo program crashes when the welcome page appears.

    I called Apple, and we tried a few things to no avail.

    We tried trashing and then reinstall AP, but it still crashes.

    Any help appreciated.

      Hi CMM,

      Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

      Launch the app with ⌃(ctrl) held down until a Clear User Data dialog appears. Remove the ticks for Don't restore window and documents and Reset Studio. Leave only Clear User Defaults checked then press Clear. This should fix the crash issue.

      This is your status/feed area on your profile. For questions, report etc you should use the public forums instead i. this case the Questions section here. Use the Browse tab on the top left of the forum page to explore the main forum sections.

      Regarding your question - the Dock Tools item visible on the menu only applies to the toolbar on the left of the interface (be default) where the tools icons are located. To dock panels like the one you are showing on your screenshot simply drag them to the left of right edge of the application window. The dock-able areas should highlight as you do it. Let me know if you still have trouble.

      Hi kidoextrem,

      Right-click the first layer (Ellipse) in the Layers panel and select Rasterise, then export as PDF for print. It should export correctly.

      There's an issue with the clipped image that's preventing the export to function correctly. I'm passing your file to the development team to be looked at/fix this issue.

      To report issues, ask questions please use the corresponding areas on the forum (Bugs in Affinity Photo and Designer, Questions rather than your feed/status area as you have more chances to get a quick answer there.

    Hello, I would like to ask you when you release Affinity Publisher. I already got message from you minimum two yers ago, "It will be next year in beta version". Next year I read this information again but no Publisher was released... plese give me serious information.

      Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

      Affinity Publisher is still under development. We were a little optimistic regarding its release date and due to adjustments to our plans (Photo and Designer for iPad), Light UI interface and other non-planned additions to Photo and Designer besides the Windows versions it end up delayed a little more. There's no official eta.  At this point if we gave one and missed it again for some reason it would only increase frustration among users -. We will announce the Public Beta here in the forums and on social media as soon as there's news.

    i bought AP a few months ago and have version 1.5.2 on my desktop. it works and boots up but i went to the Apple app store and it says no updates. i am trying to upload the free content and update but need help. thanks

      Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

       

      To update the app go to the Mac App Store app (make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID used to buy the application), go to the Updates section and try the following:

      - press ⌘ (cmd) + R to refresh the Updates page

       

      If the updates still don't appear:

      - sign out of the Mac App Store, then sign-in again and check if the updates are already there

       

      If it also fails:

      - drag the application from the applications folder to the Trash and empty it, then reinstall the app again from the Mac App Store. It will install the latest version.

    Just downloaded Photo and Designer. Tried out the new light GUI on both programs. Now all my icons in Photo have gone greyscale even if i return to Dark GUI. Designer is OK

     I'd like my coloured icons back please. I presume this is not intentional as designer is fine.

      Go to Affinity Designer Preferences, User Interface section and make sure Monochromatic Iconography is not ticked.

    I'm trying to find a way to correct chromatic aberration in a RAW image. I Developed the image and then in the Photo Persona I tried the Chromatic Aberration filter under “Colours” but it does nothing, no impact. Is that it? Or am I missing something? I had previously worked in Adobe Bridge under CS6 and that yielded immediate visible results. What am I doing wrong? I also checked your YouTube videos but could not find any tutorials to address this problem.

      You are posting these questions in your own status profile page. You will get answers more quickly if you post them in the Questions section in the forum. Regarding this question are you using a Mac or Windows?

      On Mac you have to run the  App Store app (make sure you are signed-in with the same Apple ID used to buy the application), go to the Purchased section (on top) and click the install button in front of the application you want to install.

      On Windows, you have to sign-in in the Affinity Store website then click your name on the top right corner of the page and select Downloads & Product Keys. You can download the latest installer and get the e-mail/products key from that page.

    Acabo de recibir un mail, donde me indican que Affinity Photo ya está actualizado para IOS11 en iPad Pro.

    Al intentar abrir la sesión no recuerdo la contraseña, así que le digo que la he olvidado. Me pide que le envíe mi correo y me enviarán un mail para restablecer contraseña.

    He seguido todos los pasos pero no recibo ningún correo.

    Que puedo hacer?

    El Affinity Photo para iPad que tengo instalado en mi iPad Pro, se actualiza automáticamente?

      Bienvenido a los Foros Affinity :)

      Abra la aplicación App Store en iPad, toque en el icono de actualizaciones en la parte inferior y presione el botón de actualización frente a la aplicación Affinity Photo.

      When posting questions please use the main forums rather than a personal profile/status page. You will get answers much faster.

      Regarding your question, do the following: sign out from the Mac App Store then sign-in again again (with the Apple ID used to buy the programs). The OPEN button should then appears below both apps. To update to the latest version still in the Mac App Store app, go to the Updates tab (on top) and Affinity apps should appear there on the list below. Click the update button in front on them to update to the latest version.

    Is there a way to feed back to you on the Affinity supported plugins list?

     

    I am currently running the latest App Store version of Affinity Photo 1.5.2, on the latest MacOS Sierra 10.12.6.

      Thanks for letting me know. I still have to update the whole list for version 1.6, so will have to test these as well. I know there's was a few improvements to the plugin support in v1.6 so it's possible these two also run on the latest Beta but without testing i can't confirm that yet.

      Hi fotis,

      Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

      Download the installer again from the Affinity Store here (you must login into the the Store with the same e-mail/password you used to create your account there when you bought the program). The email/product key combo is there along with the installer in the Downloads & Product Keys section.
