I have the same issue and would love to see a scroll lock feature. Especially with a two pages spread that is zoomed in to fit the width, even just a littel unintented left and right scrolling is an annoyance.
    Thank you!

@thomaso It looks to me that your video demonstrates the very thing. Although not extreme, there is some movement on the X-axis. I counted x-axis movement 11 times in your video. I don't mean that it is a bad thing depending on one's preferences, but that is what Tia Lapis is hoping to avoid with an optional axis lock.

Visit any university library and you'll find that endnotes replaced footnotes long ago, perhaps in the 1950s. In the era before computers, endnotes were far easier to typeset. In todays world, their appearance at the bottom of a page is seen as clutter by most readers.
While this might be true up to a certain point for academic publications in the English-speaking world (and while there is a certain international convergence in recent years), there are also cultural differences. German academic publications are still heavily using footnotes for reference purposes as well as for comments and clarifications. And while footnotes might be perceived as clutter from a typographic point of view (it can be incredibly difficult to typeset certain sorts of academic texts in a visually pleasing way), they are much more practical for readers. Personally, I don’t like reading a book from two ends.

Not everybody works with 2 screens. And not everybody works at such an intense level. I for example have fought at work to get only 1 big screen instead of 2 screens. I hate dual screens because of the borders right in the middle of my vision.
And not to forget: DTP has been done professional for a long time an screens smaller then iPadPro and computers much worse then a iPadPro. So I don't see any technical hurdles.

My iPad Pro has replaced a old MBP. I consider it my mobile computer, so it would be nice to use it for such work, too.
Tablet usage will become the normal computing experience in the future, with a few professional areas staying on expensive desktop workstations.

AD is a drawing application. I'll never get why people expect it to be good at text.

How different opinions are. I don’t see any usage for text in a drawing application…

I was perhaps a little unclear, as far as my english reaches this summer is the summer in the current year and next summer the one in the next year. So you meant summer 18? That's a relief...

I see, so this is rather location dependent and I thought it was a lacking grasp of english

It depends what you mean by "native"! Here in Scotland, "next summer" is generally interpreted the way you originally thought (i.e. the summer of next year, or 2019) because we can say "this summer" if we mean the summer of this year. In England, and quite possibly also in Wales and/or Northern Ireland, "next summer" means the very next summer (which would currently be the one that comes later this year).
