Jon P got a reaction from Alex White in 1.7.0.206 crashes on loading my file
Thanks for that, I've opened it in 1.7.0.167 (which it sounds like worked for you) but it still crashes.
I've logged this for the developers to take a look at further.

The 0 width on the footer on page 7 is interesting, It might be intentional but i'll look into it further.
Thanks

Jon P reacted to MattP in PLEASE READ THIS: Sharing Guidelines
We've had a query about what is viewed as 'acceptable' content, and what our stance on it is.
This topic is one which is typically fairly volatile because everyone is so different and what is acceptable for one person, can be shocking or inflammatory to another. We don't want everyone to feel cautious about what they click, just in case they are faced with something they'd rather not see, but we also don't want to discourage people from sharing the amazing work they've been creating, so... We think the simplest, clearest thing to do is:
If you think your image could in any way be described as controversial...
- Start a new topic with an appropriate title
- Upload your image to a sharing site (Flickr, Behance, Instagram, etc) - you can even use the 'Share' link in the app's File menu
- Write a proper description of your work in the body of your post and add a text link to the image you have shared
Now, if people think they'd be offended, they just don't have to click the link and they won't see it at all.
Thanks,
Matt

Jon P got a reaction from altae in Choosing between GPU or WARP
Hiya,
You should aim to be using your GPU to do the rendering, it will basically be much faster. Which is why it will select your GPU by default.
WARP is more for a fallback, incase for some reason we fail to detect your GPU or there are some issues using the GPU to do the rendering.
You can read more about WARP here.

Jon P got a reaction from SrPx in Reproducible crashes with tif
Well that's a fairly unique recipe, but I can definitely reproduce the crash!

Jon P got a reaction from manroe in feature or bug ??
It would be alot easier to say it is a feature, but it looks like a bug to me! If you have the colour tab visible at the same time you can see it change as soon as the width reaches 0. I'd expect it to remember the colour that was set even if the width is 0. It also behaves this way on the mac version.
I'll get this logged for the developers.
Thanks for taking the time to report it!
Edit: This is actually reproducible on the mac and is already logged, just needs a slight tweak to the recipe

Jon P reacted to AdamW in Affinity Designer Public Beta - 1.5.0.17 (Windows)
Just a quick update on the CorelDRAW issue - I can see that DPX8's PDF-1.7 files will load into Corel so that's useful info. Thanks to everyone who has helped with this so far. I'm going to see if we can tweak the export options to get things moving. :)

Jon P got a reaction from Andy Somerfield in Unicode, UTF-8
I might be missing something but I created a file on OSX using some non latin characters and it displayed alright for me on Windows, so do you mind attaching an example file?
Thanks

Jon P got a reaction from Andy Somerfield in Three minor issues
Hi Lojza,
#1 - I'll check if this is already logged and add it if not, thanks!
#2 - This is already logged with us, it's a bit dangerous as you can end up with corrupted objects.
#3 - I can't reproduce this one, after making a copy and modifying it, are you giving it a new filename or overwriting the file that you opened?
Thanks for taking the time to report these.

Jon P got a reaction from Craig-S in Distribute not working.
Hi Craig,
The wording could have been better, but the issue that was fixed was when un-ticking auto distibute and entering in a number of px it wasn't distributing them evenly by that amount.
There is still an issue with the initial distribute horizontally/veritcally, which isn't spacing them correctly. I've got this logged so thanks for making sure it was brought to our attention :).

Jon P got a reaction from MattP in Blur and SVG file format
Hi Martin,
The developers have looked into this, it is part of the svg spec that a blur can only be 10% larger than the objects size, so even a shadow would only be able to go up to 10% of the objects size without getting clipped.
Unfortunately this is something that should be kept in mind when designing for svg export (unless you are ok with rasterising). I think Inkscape shows you this when designing in the app.

Jon P got a reaction from Martin Mars in Blur and SVG file format
Hiya Martin Mars,
I've tried to set a couple of documents up in similar ways to your attached screenshots but haven't had any luck reproducing this yet, would you be able to attach your document for me to reproduce with? Or dropbox it and PM me the link if you'd prefer to keep it private :).
Did you change the svg export settings away from default?
Thanks

Jon P got a reaction from raheard in Erase tool
Hiya, glad you are enjoying it so far :),
By default you start in the draw persona, the Erase Brush Tool is in the pixel persona.
You can switch personas by going File > Persona or you can click the icons just below where File is.
Thanks
