In Windows version yes. Presets after starting the application:

Unfortunately, Show Favourites is not sticky.

But since the OP writes "Most of my brochures are", I assume that he always creates the same documents/brochures, and in this case it is already worth creating his own Templates.

Historically, 72 DPI is the standard on Macintosh computers and 96 DPI is the standard on Windows computers. But that all belongs to the days before ‘retina’ displays, and in any case it has no relevance to images for the Web (where everything is just pixels and there are no physical sizes involved).

It's in the isometric grid tool... and you can make other types of grid with this tool... so stop being so damn pedantic.

So far, Designer2 and Photo2 have worked much better for me than Affinity Photo 1, so I don't understand the opinion of some who keep writing Affinity badly. Of course there are things here and there that I don't immediately understand, but I am of the opinion that I am the error in front of the computer and I don't look for the error in the program, as some people like to do again and again.

Of course, as a developer/programmer, I know that testing and detecting bugs and problems is very challenging. And in many cases, when it comes to specific scenarios of operations and configurations, this is not even realistically possible, so the detection coverage will never be 100%.
However, easily "visible" bugs in the UI? - after all, nothing could be easier to detect, because the bug is immediately visible! So these bugs could really be avoided.
P.S. Thank you for your response 🙂

    Flood Select Tool:
I understand that the Mode is important for the Select Tool and therefore comes first - but why isn't the order of the other controls the same as the Flood Fill Tool? Why is the Source before the Tolerance, and in the Fill tool is at the end?
    Flood Erase Tool:
Why Erase doesn't have Contiguous and Antialias options?
I understand that it is possible to use the Flood Select Tool and then press Delete, but if the Erase function is already there, why can't it have the same options and thus the same function?
    Thank you.

I would be quite surprised if small changes like this one will have any significant impact one way or another on those who are deciding if buying and/or using one or more of the Affinity apps is worth it for them.
It is obvious you are frustrated because the developers have not agreed with you & the others who think this is a change for the worse. That's understandable but ranting about it in the forums, which seems like what this is devolving into, is not going to do any good, so I have to wonder why you keep at it.
In short, can you explain what you hope to accomplish that your other posts have failed to do about this change?

One of which is people seldom mention changes they do not find annoying or illogical while those who do are much more likely to complain about them. So there is not much anyone can conclude from these supposedly "numerous" users complaining about the change, which at best represent a tiny fraction of the user base.
Regardless, if you feel so strongly about this, all you can do is make a feature request in the appropriate forum or quit using/recommending the Affinity apps. The rest is just a waste of time.

I had no idea what would follow when I started this topic with that little problem I had with aligning objects with the new v2.4 feature...
Guys, please don’t get that upset with this – effectively – minor issue that actually seems to be more or less subject to personal preference. What counts is that we actually can get ever more things nicely done in Affinity. And comfortably aligning objects is one of those. Now that I know how it's done I personally don't really care if I have to select that alignment icon or another first to access the dropdown for more specific control. Come on, as to this  feature it's just one button to push before getting the desired result!
But yes: there are other things in Affinity which are entirely not there yet and which I (and many others, I guess) dearly miss – like blends, image tracing, real(!) vector brushes and the ability to adjust stroke widths at specific places directly at specific points on the path and not via some abstract curve on/in a detached pallette (to name just a few). Let the devs devote their time and effort to these instead of the minor issue this thread seems to have turned to!

Pšenda got a reaction from Murfee in Request of Functionality: Diagrams in Designer
... just to add - Serif has already stated here many times that he does not consider any method of "voting" when developing and implementing new functions. So it does not take into account the number of Likes, or +1, or +100,000. A far more effective way to attract Serif's attention and emphasize the importance of the request is therefore to mention some critical workflow that cannot be done without the given feature/function, etc. So I would call "+1" posts as a missed opportunity to improve the credit of the respective request 🙂

Pšenda reacted to Magicbean in Changing the stroke style of multiple objects
I have searched for this but can't find an answer:
In a document with cables - say mains cables, signal cables, network cables etc. each is represented by a simple stroke with a width and colour.
The cables are all in different groups - some are straight lines, some are (variously) curved. If I want to change the weight of all signal cables, for example, change all the red 1pt lines to purple 2pt.

If I use a 'style' I can't work out how to edit the style to change all the objects with that style.
If I use a symbol, they all have to be the same shape.
I don't want all the cables of a type in the same group so how do I go about changing the colour / width of related objects in different groups together in a controlled way?

Consider the following two scenarios where, for example, one hundred people request the same <something> over a period of, for example, six months.
    Scenario One – Individual Posting
Person 1 posts a request for <something> in a new thread. Due to the nature of the forums this thread immediately starts to ‘drop to the ocean floor’ because no-one else is posting to it. A little time later, Person 2 posts a request for <something> in a new thread. Due to the nature of the forums this thread immediately starts to ‘drop to the ocean floor’ because no-one else is posting to it. A little time later, Person 3 posts a request for <something> in a new thread. Due to the nature…
Result: After six months we have one hundred threads, each of one post only, each of which is ignored by most people because they cannot easily see those threads because newer threads, and multiply-posted threads, are continually ‘stealing the limelight’ at the top of the thread stack.
    Scenario Two – Collective Posting
Person 1 posts a request for <something> in a new thread. A little time later, Person 2 posts to the same thread which ‘lifts’ it back to the top of the thread stack again. A little time later, Person 3 posts to the same thread which ‘lifts’ it back to the top of the thread stack again. A little time later, Person 4 posts to the same thread which ‘lifts’ it back to the top of the thread stack again. A little time later…
Result: The same thread keeps coming back to the top of the thread stack again and again over a six month period, being noticed by many people, while also accruing one hundred posts, over many pages, which makes it look like a popular request.
    -----
I’ll let you judge which scenario may bring a request to Serif’s attention more effectively, which I would think is the point of posting a request in the first place.
I’m not saying that either scenario guarantees that anything will be done about the request more than the other one, only that one scenario may be a more effective method of communicating a collective need, because of the way the forums work, than the other.
(All of the above makes the reasonable assumption that Serif isn’t employing someone full-time to collate and cross-reference all the thousands of posts that are created each day.)
You can continue to post your requests individually if you wish to, even if that goes against the guidelines of the forums, but I would suggest that you should be aware of, understand, and accept the short-comings of doing so.

Yes, there is no point in allowing some parameters to be set, without specifying the desired operation, when some of the set parameters would make no sense at all.
Why allow the "Align to" parameter to be set when the operation performed will be "Space horizontally/vertically"? Why enable the setting of distribute parameters when the operation will be Align?
