And many are just wondering why the thread has such a meaningless Tag.
It is also clear that the view count does not correspond to the real number of users who have actually read the thread. Perhaps most of the counted visits to the thread are from the author himself, who is trying to increase the virtual "reputation" of the thread.

You obviously don't understand forum principles and the meaning of tags, which are used to make it easier to find a thread when searching for a topic.

... but as has been said many times, due to the fact that the Distributing/Space of objects is also set in the same dialog, it is necessary to first select the type of operation (that is why it is placed first in the dialog), and only then the parameters of this operation (that is why the parameters are placed second and made available only after selecting the type of operation).

@Alfred my bad, Clip Studio Paint.  My set-up can be considered typical entry level for my former work in games dev.  I mentioned it to clarify that it shouldn't be a stressing Affinity Photo.
@Pšenda I haven't as yet. I'll try and do that.  Thanks

Realize how many users/consumers Affinity has, how many are here on the forum, and how many of this small percentage of all users/consumers are falling into the panic, frustration and disillusionment you mentioned about the end of development? I doubt that the mentioned silence really undermines the trust of "consumers". If there are some, then there are really only a few of them, and they are mostly distrustful on principle (see their constant negative posts), and it doesn't matter if Serif is silent or inundates us with hundreds proclamation posts.

perhaps, but OP isn't the kind of target driven, detailed post that's inviting help.
what expectations should one have with a slightly smoother version of
"software ALWAYS crashes, EVERYTHING SUCKS, I'm going BROKE because SERIF!!!11" ?
If you're (not somebody in particular) just here to vent you're in the wrong place.

something like "the latest update keeps crashing on my PC (hardware/OS specs),
which already cost me a lot of time and becomes a real problem.
I already tried X, Y and Z and the problem keeps occuring even with new projects,
mostly in situations/processes like ABCDE (example file)"
doesn't take long to put into a post and will get helpful feedback of some sort.

So why are you using a version that doesn't suit you and crashes? So install the version that suits you and don't update something that you don't actually want or need.

Too bad, it's Friday afternoon - the Serif developers were just getting ready for a big discussion and providing detailed information about the text engine and its redesign, but since they're from England/Europe, they're not allowed to post anything here. Oh well, maybe next time.

Of course, in the case of a raster image defined in pixels, DPI is completely irrelevant. It will only make sense if you use length units (cm, inch) as the document unit.

Do you mean, for example, information that you were sitting in your living room in 1974, or that your computer broke down? Do you expect that when the Serif developers read this beneficial discussion, they will have a light in their head and will redesign the entire text manipulation engine within a few days? (The complexity of redesigning the engine is, by the way, the reason explicitly stated by Serif why it is not yet able to solve these problem).

William: Users cannot implement these functions in the Affinity applications, so I don't understand the purpose of your thread. The code in the Affinity applications requires major changes in order to accomplish this, which is why Serif has not provided it thus far.

Pšenda got a reaction from RNKLN in "Save As ..." Where the file came from, please!
I hope you don't take this seriously, because that's completely wrong logic - a bug is simply a bug (if it's really a bug, i.e. a deviation from the declared behavior of the application), which only needs to be reported once (there's no need to report it repeatedly).
You've probably noticed that this was a counterargument to the claim, which was based on the assumption that if "lots of customers" request a modification, then Serif should/had to have done it a long time ago! Although it's obvious that Serif's development capacities are considerably limited, and that a certain prioritization of work is therefore needed when fixing bugs and implementing new features, the argument here is made in the style of "lots of customers" but without taking into account all other customers.

As a developer (for Windows) I used bmp a lot, of course, but I converted everything to png many years ago (so I don't even use Affinity's ability to open these files - I don't need it anymore). There was no reason to stay with bmp, not only because of the file size, but mainly because of the transparency issues.
