Tourmaline got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Affinity Publisher Public Beta - 1.7.0.384 (RC1)
The buttons for Designer and Photo will ONLY work in the release version of Publisher and with officially purchased copies of Designer and Photo and with CUSTOMER beta's. It will NOT work in PUBLIC beta's...
    Quote from Patrick Connor:
"be aware I said customer betas, those released after we launch to preview fixes and more new features. The PUBLIC betas 1.7.0.376 won't ever show those personas, indeed it will stop working."

add affinity publisher and then the .apub extension. It MIGHT show the thumbnails.
Have a look at this thread, it might help.

You also might be able to manually add the formats in xnviewMP

Unfortunately that didn't work, only a placeholder.

You could try to add the Affinity formats into the list of supported formats and the thumbnails might turn up.

People need to learn that you cannot cram in every single option of other software wich took 30 years to evolve in a first edition. It takes time to implement these features and test them.
Of course I want a product that has it all in it's first incarnation but this is not realistic.
In other words, how much is Serif willing to implement in the first version and what will roll over to version 2, wich will take time...

Most posts in this forum are about suggestions and so called necessary features and all think it has priority...Do you see the dilemma?! Wich to implement first....?!

Would certainly welcome support of the Astute Graphics suite of plug-ins.

Tourmaline got a reaction from Steps in Jpeg 9.1 incorporation of Affinity Suite.
I put it in the Affinity Photo forum first but then realized it's needed for the whole suite as well, hence the second request to make it available to the whole suite.

Apperntly it's not a priority. Most bugs are fixed fast...Or it's a very complex one wich takes time...

Splash screen is not important! I don't work with it or can't make pages with it. So, in short: nothing to worry about.

With application sets you can make a set that will be activated for that specific application. So you can make a set of fonts specifaclly for affinity designer for a certain project and activate those fonts in suitcase fusion. It's the next best thing next to auto-activation.

Auto activation only for some Adobe products.
But there is a workaround build in for programs that can't be used with auto activation, so it is still quite simple to activate fonts.

I use it for years now and the latest version is very fast and well designed UI. It's one of the best font managers out there.
I put in a request to support the affinity products for auto activation a long time ago, so, who knows.

The limitation is your memory installed. If I remember correctly, you can set the amount of RAM used by the application.
Under "Preferences"---"Performance" you can set the amount of memory you want to be used by the application. If you set it higher, you are able to load more files simultaniously...Or work with larger files...

Vector packages are heavely used for font design, so Affinity designer is no exception.

I really like the Affinity Spotlight web page.

Interesting reading, especially about the developers.
I hope this way a lot more people can understand that it is not a trivial thing to develop new software and why it takes a little longer sometimes then people want it to take.

Lots of good reading stuff and inspiration!

    Keep it up.

    Thumbs up from me.

Personally I would opt for a stable basic layout program. You can add bells and whistles later.

If you want to make a really good mirror tool then have a look at this one:

This company makes excellent plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator.
I have most of them and they are all excellent.
