IndigoMoon got a reaction from Snapseed in Affinity products for Linux
For compatibility with MS Office you have to use SoftMaker FreeOffice (or their paid version) or OnlyOffice. Both are available for Linux as well.
The main reason for incompatibility are the different file formats ODF (LibreOffice) and OOXML (MS Office), or rather the double conversion.

I'm lucky enough to fall into that category. If they are smart, they could release a consumer version and make some easy money off Affinity converts wanting to ditch Acrobat.

Unfortunately, Packzview is only for labels/packaging companies for free. I've requested a product key, which has been denied. Well, I've told them it's a bit confusing to advertise it for free. Now they are pointing out on their website that's only for theses kind of companies, too bad...

Since you originally posted, I think they've added "double-click on a layer thumbnail in the Layers panel" as another "zoom to fit" method.

    Hi @IndigoMoon,
When you've opened a PDF you can use Document>Resource Manager to check the the Colour spaces of the images.  Also if you've placed a PDF, using the Resource Manager would give you the colour space of the PDF.

Select the object from which you wish to measure.
Hold down cmd key (probably ctrl key on Windows) and mouseover other objects to get distance measurements. This does not measure to guidelines, though.

That works quite nicely with linked frames too if you don’t use spaces and get the settings right (up to a point).
Nice catch Alan. That might be quite useful in certain circumstances.

Playing around with this one of the problems I came across was the spacing of individual letters and getting them to line up in columns. I went down the power duplicate route with text frames, when I tried linking them spaces an d centering became a problem. If you leave them unlinked and add your letters individually in to each frame it works with power duplicate

Here’s one way using a stepped curve, the Text On Curve functionality, and a massive character tracking setting. (Original curve has been kept for demonstration purposes.)
There may be others. I know I can do it by converting the text to curves and distributing the individual letters but the text doesn’t remain editable so that’s not a great solution.

In my example with the black background all I did was add some black shapes between the foreground layers and the ‘echo’ layers.
In my example with the non-uniform background I converted the text to curves and manually broke the curves that make up the ‘echoes’ into sections using the Node tool so I could remove the parts of the letters I didn’t want. Lots more work than the previous way.
I’ve attached the (quite messy) example document for the black background version (text is in Cocogoose so it might not show nicely if you don’t have that font).
I don’t know where my other document has gone but it was just a bunch of curves so not much to see there anyway.
