It is the imagination she brings to the work table! (Yes, not a typo, I meant "table" not 'tablet.")  :D

You are inspiring her admirably, IMHO.

OK, this is not any pro drawing, but I feel like sharing it with you :)

My little daughter (she'll be 5 the next week) loves My Little Ponnies so she was excited to design something similar by herself. Actually, I did the most of the drawing according to her instructions - she's more used to touch screens and a track pad is still somehow strange to her :)

That takes me back quite a few years! My niece was very fond of My Little Pony when she was about the same age as your daughter is now. ^_^

Lojza got a reaction from Laureen in Request: material icon desing template
OK, I tried to make one myself.

Feel free to use, elaborate, adjust, post a better version ;) Also I don't think I managed to create the best AD material icon out there ;)

Please note that this is 400% (192pt) size. For basic material stroke, you shoud use 8pt width, square caps.

I still see a purple car on every browser I have tried with that page. No problems with the Gary Ballard pages & every other one mentioned here using Safari ... which all of the pages say does a good job of color management.

    So color me confused.

Something is definitely odd (maybe with the page itself?) because I cannot select the image in the normal way to copy it, not with Safari, Chrome, Firefox or with any other browser I have. I have to right click on it & use the browser's 'inspect element' or 'view page source' or some such function to get to it to copy or save it. From what I can tell, the image source is https://petapixel.com/assets/uploads/2012/06/S2fzq.jpg & even if I load that URL directly into any of the browsers I still get a purple car.

According to that, Safari supports all four profiles on the page, yet the pentapixel page still shows a purple car, contrary to what it says about every browser tested in OSX correctly implementing ICC profiles.

    Hi lilmisslondon,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Great work. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Lojza also resized some of the text - "Legend of the Liberator, Book One" group and the author's name -, making them smaller to avoid clashing with the decorative patterns on the corners. As it was in the original, the text was to close to them creating some (disruptive) tension. It also centered "Dead brings Life" as all the other cover elements revolve around a vertical symmetrical axis, to help balance the composition.

Different web browsers running on different OS's may display images using the image's embedded color profile (if they have one) or ignore that & use a default profile for everything. Likewise, there is no guarantee an embedded profile will survive the copy & paste step.

So, while there is no way to guarantee every image seen on a web page will display the same colors for everyone, it is generally better to download the image to a file on your system & open that in AP (or whatever graphics app you are using).

A painting/illustration made entirely in Affinity Designer and a Wacom drawing tablet. I wanted to complete a digital image without first drawing a sketch and scanning it into the PC.

Lojza got a reaction from Aammppaa in Shape stroke blend mode
It would be nice to be able to set a shape's stroke blend mode independently from the shape fill.

Example: a square with "Normal" fill and "Erase" stroke would do great in such designs as this:

    Thanks for considering! :)

Lojza reacted to antonkudin in Option to disable selecting previous tool on pressing tool shortcut twice
Not sure why this exist but pressing a tool shortcut select twice deselects the tool i requested and selects some tool that i had before that.

Usually when working i can press the tool shortcut just to make sure im in the right mode without enabling palettes, looking around and that actually breaks the workflow: I do something that i didn't intend to like create/move layers etc.

Lojza got a reaction from Chris B in Nudged elements leave artboard
Actually, I'd like the element to stay contained within the art board, but beyond the visible area - i.e. the same behaviour as in case of shapes that contain other shapes / texts etc. When for example an art text is being nudged within a rectangle, it gets correctly clipped by rectangle shape and even if it is completely "outside" its boundaries, it still stays contained in it (in the layers panel). I would expect the same behaviour also from art boards.

But thank you, I'll post a feature request :)

Lojza got a reaction from predick in (Nasty) bug: visibility change makes scroll jump in layers
When "Show Selection in Layers Panel" in Preferences is checked and user changes visibility of any layer in the Layers pane, the list of layers scrolls to selected layer.

This is really unpleasant when working with a lot of layers (about two hundreds in my case) and just switching visibility of another layer than the selected one.

Could this be fixed, please, so changing visibility (checking the visibility check-box) won't show selected layer in Layers pane any more..?

    Thanks for considering!

Lojza got a reaction from Philipwhand in Resizing with Shift - inconsistency
    1) When resizing single element, proportions are preserved by default and Shift works as a modifier to change proportions.

    2) When resizing multiple selected elements, proportions are NOT preserved. Shift works as a modifier to preserve proportions.

This feels like inconsistency and it makes learning AD harder. I would prefer behavior described in 1) as default for all resizing. Thanks for considering ;)
