Andreas Larsen Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 The icons for break, close and join curves look very similar and you can't really tell from the icons what they do. karim 1 Quote
Staff MEB Posted May 7, 2015 Staff Posted May 7, 2015 Yeah, I always have to check which one is what too. I've tried to redraw some in Designer (cheating a little) and also reorder them (exchanged Join Curves with Close curve) since i believe it makes more sense this way. This is what I end up with: The names could also change to: Break node Join Nodes Smooth path Close path Reverse path MattP, A_B_C and AshTeriyaki 3 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Andreas Larsen Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Better - although that glue icon is a bit unconventional it makes sense. The icons should also grey out when you can't use them - e.g. when I've selected just one curve (path) I can still click join curves which obviously does nothing. Names are wrong though. Should be Break node (or break path) Close path Smooth path Join paths Reverse path and they would probably make more sense if reordered like this Break path Close path Smooth path Reverse path Join paths Quote
Gear maker Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 MEB, I like your suggestions for icons. They are easy to figure out which is which. As long as the user can distinguish which is which the order and name aren't all that important. MattP 1 Quote iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) with macOS Sierra
AshTeriyaki Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I'm sure a lot of people run into this issue. I certainly do. Miguel's icons make a lot more sense. Quote
