Reporting Localisation Issues in Mac Publisher beta #305 - #337

The latest Affinity Publisher Mac public beta #337 has all UI locales available.

In the app menu, Preferences > General you can choose any of the 10 languages, restart the application and experience Affinity Publisher in that locale.

We are hoping that the localisation is now basically correct, but if you see any words or phrases that are out of the ordinary, or are clipped/cropped short in the Mac build PLEASE report them in this thread, stating the language and version you are running and what OS you are seeing the problem on.

German: In panel "Kontur" (Stroke) the words "Gehrung" (Mitre) and "Reihenfolge" (Order) don't fit visually. Gehrung overlaps with graphic, Reihenfolge is unneccessary tiny.

Same panel in large UI font: dto., + "Reihenfolge" is cut, "Eigenschaften" (Properties) is larger than its button.

      

Edit:
Since "Properties" is related to brush ("Pinsel") a shorter German term for the button might be "Pinsel..." instead of "Eigenschaften...".
This also would fit to the resulting options window which is titled "Pinsel - Auswahl".

Italian language (beta version 1.7.0.305). I’ve found some missing/wrong translations:

File > Apri recenti > Menu Cancella (better to use “Cancella menu”)

File > Posiziona (better to use “Inserisci”)

Documento > Gestione sezione (sentence left in english “Start page numbering at”, better to use “Iniziare numerazione pagina da”)

Testo > Interattivo > Inserisci ancoraggio (sentence left in english “Insert Anchor”, better to use “Inserisci ancoraggio”)

Testo > Interattivo > Inserisci collegamento ipertestuale (sentence left in english “Hyperlinks Properties”, better to use “Proprietà collegamento”)

Testo > Disposizione testo > Mostra impostazioni disposizione testo, (the texts in the floating menu are really difficult to read, they are big, small, cutted, stricted)

 

Visualizza > Rotate (Better translate in “Rotazione“, also the whole menu is remained in english) 

Visualizza > Modalità di visualizzazione > Split view (better translate in “Visualizzazione divisa”)

Visualizza > Modalità di visualizzazione > Ritaglia nella tela (?????? What's this?? This translation is certainly wrong)

On a text table, right-click on selected cells, opens an english menu (to be translated)

 

Visualizza > Strumenti Ancora (better to reverse the sentence “Ancora strumenti” or “Ancoraggio strumenti”)

German + English: I do appreciate that the Help Search appears somehow language independent, this helps occasionally to find help of not yet linked help articles in a particular language.

But for "pen tool" the result looks weird under German app language ...

... because the 46 articles of Publisher (in German as application language) don't seem related to the search term "pen tool":

When searching in the Help menu for an English term in English application language on my German System the results appear duplicated:

As I reported in another thread the shortcut "ctrl w" for the Preview mode, doesn't work in my environment (italian language).

In keyboard preferences there are no shortcut with the combination "ctrl w".
Also define a "ctrl w" in system preferences for Publisher has no effect.

Then I've tried also change to "ctrl q" in Publisher preference and it works.

For this translation in italian:

Better translation are "Tavolo di montaggio" or "Piano di lavoro".

In the missing links warning window, "Resource Manager" and "Yes" should be translated.

It looks fixed for "Gehrung" in v.312 but still strange for "Reihenfolge".

 

Both is still strange in another stroke panel: Character > Decoration (Zeichen > Verzierung):

small UI text ... / ... and large UI text (a check box is affected, too)

The screenshot shows « Propriétés de la plage ». From my (very rusty!) school French, I seem to remember that « la plage » means “beach”.

Yes you are right  funny translation...

And you are also right with the thin space before colon.

On the Option ""Speichern für das Überschreiben ..." there is at least one word missing, it should be "in dem Dokument verloren"

 

In this panel there are some autocorrection examples initialise e.g. ->, but when you sixth to Deutsch" then it is empty

The first line of that option has a full stop at the end (after „ermöglichen“) but most of the other options don’t end with a full stop.
