Old Bruce
Kind of counter intuitive in that they snap to guides and margins etc but other objects won't snap to them. They got it half right. Make another object and see if it snaps to the ones with it off. walt.farrell
That is interesting, and it works the same way in Designer, by the way (i.e., it's not an addition, just a well-hidden option that I had never seen). An object that is "excluded from snapping" is not a snapping candidate for other objects. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. A_B_C
Ha! This is hilarious. I have never seen this option before. And given the current functionality, I would suggest that you rename this option to “Snapping target” with a tick mark (default: ticked). As for a bug, the @2x crossed magnet icon is used on non-Retina screens in Publisher.
Staff Chris B Posted October 10, 2018 Staff Share Posted October 10, 2018 I think the wording is what is causing the confusion as it does seem to suggest it is excluding the object from snapping in general but what it is actually doing is excluding it as a snapping candidate.
