Brian_J Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Several days ago (on or around October 15) the forum was down for a short time... I assume for scheduled maintenance or a software update. Since that time, the 'Unread Content' page loads very slowly on my computer and mobile devices; all other pages on the forum load quickly. Just wanted to mention it in case it's something you can remedy on your end. Quote Windows 10 22H2 | Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 (MSI/EXE)
GarryP Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 It’s loading just as quick for me using Chrome (latest version) on Windows 10 as it was before the maintenance downtime. Have you tried clearing your browser cache(s) to see if that makes a difference? Quote

Have you tried clearing your browser cache(s) to see if that makes a difference? Yes, I’ve cleared browser cache on all my devices and it had no effect. I also tried accepting cookies on the site (I usually reject cookies) and that didn’t affect the page load time. The ‘Unread Content’ page takes about 8 seconds to load, while all other forum pages load in under 1 second. Very strange. I don’t know what could be causing the issue if it’s on my end. I’m in the U.S. My desktop is Crome on Windows 10, and I’ve tried Chrome and Safari on iPad and iPhone. All browsers are latest versions. GarryP Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Displaying the first page of Unread Content is almost instant for me, with subsequent pages taking as much time as they take to retrieve from the web which is usually less than two seconds. Clearing the cache is usually the first thing I try and it normally works for most things of this nature. Shame it didn't work this time. I don’t know what the maintenance was for so I don’t know what, if anything, has changed so I don’t know what to suggest next. It might be, fingers crossed, one of those things that just goes away as mysteriously as it came. Brian_J 1 Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I have not noticed any difference in loading times for Unread Posts, which is the main forum page I use. Bryan Rieger Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Since the forum downtime earlier this week it’s been noticeably slower to load for me. I’m on macOS and iOS using Safari on a 1GB connection and the forum often takes over 10 seconds to load, where before it was usually under 2 seconds. Quote
prophet Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 For me as well. Noticeable load time for "Unread" section. Firefox on MacOS Quote
Catshill Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I’ve noticed a 5-6 second delay in loading new content. Quote
