  1. I wonder if that's really a bug? The "ghost" handle contains information on how the next segment will behave if the line were to continue from that point. I can reset it of course, but I could also choose to keep it and "recreate" the curve/node I deleted earlier
  2. Excited to try out the new Sates panel, but couldn't figure out how to get to the Query options. Had to do some googling for a walkthrough and found my stumbling block was the often mentioned poor contrast UI. I couldn't see the little expander triangle.
  3. Maybe not quite what the OP is after, but if you "build" your shape with symbols, you can edit the node of one and have it affect all others. Screen Recording 2024-02-16 at 3.28.29 PM.mov
  4. Here's a rough and utterly ridiculous technique… Index as a symbol, placed twice (red dotted outline), blue shape has Text Wrap to force right side index to align left, white shapes (with transparency to show what's happening) cover up the respective words and numbers of the 2 symbols. Cons: insane to try and build and maintain Pros: um…technically does what the OP wants? maybe?
  5. That box is a thumbnail preview of the Layer contents. Can you show us your whole workspace with that Layer selected so we can see what's going on?
  6. Yay! A new XKCD fan! It's one of the 5 tabs that I open first each day.
  7. Would love to be able to right click on a placed resource and have a quick option to get to the Resource Manager. Found an old comment from the v1 forums asking for this, but thought a "relaunch" of the request might be worthwhile.
  8. Well explained @Bit Arts. I should have been a bit more detailed in the first place. And @thomaso as well.
  9. Now that I think about it, I had this exact situation just last week. The cover page of a program I was printing had been designed with a light purple gradient over a b&w image. The choices of paper were between a cream colored parchment and a grey marbled affair. The "warm" cream color made a very unpleasant brown tone, whereas the "cool" grey let the purple "pop" a bit more and resulted in a much more pleasing print.
  10. Technically, yes, but if you've ever printed on non-white paper, you can clearly see the interaction. Most inks have a translucence that makes the colors appear different depending on the color of the paper they are printed on. It can be subtle at times, but for descerning designers (like the OP who has obviously used the setting in InDesign) it's something to be aware of.
  11. It may be subtle, but it would mimic the interaction of the ink on a colored paper. On the right, you can see the color appears a bit darker since it is "printed" on a cream colored "paper"
  12. As would I, but I'd make sure the Master was at the top of the stack and set the rectangle's blend to Multiply to get a more accurate color representation of everything else on the page
  13. As a "Yank", I had to Google "yonks" as I'd never heard it before.
  14. You can drag from the "Sample from Location" icon in the Info Panel onto the canvas to place the pointer where you want.
  15. You'll want to make sure "Transform Objects Separately" is selected in the Context bar
  16. If your "points" are all actual Shape objects, you could use "Select > Select Object > Shapes". Otherwise, you could tag them all and use "Select > Select Same > Tag Color"
  17. A rare treat to find a Time Bandits reference. A childhood favorite of mine.
  18. if you're a Mac user, I can not recommend DefaultFolder enough. Life saver! https://www.stclairsoft.com/DefaultFolderX/
  19. Has someone added a feature request for an easier way to remove the built-in mask?
  20. Looks like sometimes you are pulling the handles used for scaling rather than the object/group itself. Stay away from the corners and edge centers when you just want to move. Tricky when you are dealing with such small objects/groups.
