I am very happy that Serif is coming up with a Windows based replacement for PS.  However, I really LOVE my CA2 and am so sad that there will not be any additional releases to it.  I understand that you all are busy with the more popular programs...but is there any possibility that you will revamping and releasing some replacement to CA2 in the future?  It was perfect for everything that I do, I was just hoping for future releases which are now not coming.   It is the perfect cross between paper scrapbooking and graphic design. :)

We currently have no plans to release an alternative to CraftArtist. We're focused on completing our suite of apps before deciding what to do next.

Now is 2020. 4 years after this post to request for CraftArtist 2. I also bought CA2 and lots of paid templates.

Now 2020, i think all the 3 Affinity suites are complete which I also bought all. Photo/Publisher/Designer i bought all.

I also love CA2 because its very useful especially special occations like Birthdays, to name a few. 

Now that the 3 Affinity suites are complete, is there a plan to inclue Affinity CraftArtist?

Seems a lot of these crafting apps are being discontinued, Make The Cut (MTC) hasn’t been updated/graded in a long time, although they are still selling it without telling people development has ceased. It’s a good app but getting old and in dire need of upgrading.

I have friends who have CA2 and they love it and from having used several crafting apps such as the likes of silhouette, MTC and Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL), CA2 was a pleasant user experience.

Now is 2021.   1 year ago from my post and 5 years since someone requested for its return. All of us are waiting. CA2 was a very best software I ever used.

In fact, I have exported more pictures from this than Affinity Photo. The results are very astonishing.

Hi Affinity Devs, may you consider bringing back this wonderful CraftArtist Affinity version in your arsenal.

@interdesigner The reality for CA2 is It ain't going to happen so don't hold your breath for a replacement. The alternative is to storm the Affinity offices Game Of Thrones styli, take the devs hostage and shout from the rooftop, I swear by the old gods and the new I shall have CA3.

Considering that any new app added to the Affinity range needs to be implemented in both Windows & Mac (& maybe even iPad) versions, & should be fully compatible with the native file format, my guess is it will take a lot more than rioters & dragons to make it happen.

CA2 was a very nice application and I loved it also very much. Despite I did not install it on this Windows 10 laptop, has anybody any experience with using CA2 on Windows 10?

If so and the experience is positive, you can maybe use CA2 on Windows 10? Who knows.

CA2 works fine on Windows 10, but it seems that the OP was hoping there might be a replacement for it in the Affinity suite.

ahhaha. I used it in Windows 10. But it seems laggy and slow. Maybe because of imcompatibility of it being an old software used in a newer version of an operating system like windows 10.

I think it’s always had a tendency to behave like that if you have a large number of digikits in your collection. Try moving most of your kits out of the ‘My Digikits’ folder or, if appropriate, removing the names of other folders from the list under ‘Tools > Options... > Options > Digikit Locations’.

Some old software runs well on Windows 10.

I have used Serif ImpactPlus 5 on Windows 10.

ImpactPlus 5 dates from around 2004 or thereabouts.

For some purposes, there is nothing as far as I am aware in the Affinity range that is as good as ImpactPlus 5.

None of the Affinity apps have any 3D features. (Even the ‘cubes’ and ‘cylinders’ in DrawPlus are only fixed 3D parallel projections.)

There is currently no program from the Affinity Suite that is comparable to CA2.

The original version of CraftArtist was based on DrawPlus. The Affinity app which is closest in concept to DrawPlus is Affinity Designer — both are hybrid vector/raster software — but (among other things) there is no Cutout Studio and there are no ‘intelligent’ frames.

Affinity Designer 2 is available for Windows in a 30-day trial version.

Hi, I too have been using Craft Artist 2 for quite some time, especially for making hybrid cards etc. Had to get a new computer, lost everything I has purchased for created.

Sick as a parrot came to mind.

Have taken the 30 day trail........HELP it like a different language. Totally not expecting it to be like Craft Artist but this is confusing & feeling a a complete loss.

It is just me or ??
