and, maybe, move the dog slightly down and to the left, so that is isn't hidden by the text.

It looks good in general. The bottom, the text part with the title, the shield and the foot notes), looks a little bit too crowded and diffuse, for my taste. I would at first lighten the foot notes a little bit, for better readability. And I would possibly lift the "IT - Twisted Fates" a bit. Also the red of the "IT" could possibly be a little more saturated or blood like.

How is this new update?

Some things are a little bit better, but I don't like the outlines and shadows around the bottom text. That doesn't really make it better readable. I would simply lighten the text a bit. Don't make it white, but a little bit lighter. But don't overdo. You should see it yourself if you can easily read it.

@v_kyr @AffinityJules @carl123 @firstdefence @iconoclast @Dan C Here is a new version of the cover. Before finalizing the look of the text to a more ST look, I wanted to give the cover that vintage painted poster VHS look. I used a combination of the GMIC filter from GIMP, and a painterly look tutorial from YouTube to create the Art effect. Plus I moved the dog down so she's more visible when the text is visible, I also added a green glow around the edges of the dog and a shadow underneath.

Oh dear.....now everything's wrapped in a plastic film.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

These are not my own words but I sure like this quote.

It doesn't really matter what I like best or dislike the most, this is your composite and anything that looks good to you, or sits well with your own artistic creativity is all that matters. I only commented because the first thing that drew my attention with your latest update was the fact that everything looked as though it was wrapped in a plastic film. If that's the look you really want then go for it, it's not the thing I would do, but hey, don't mind me.

There is one thing you might want to consider - and this is purely from my own point of view and is of no real importance: I would match up the 3 buildings with light, colour, hue, etc, so that they all look like they belong in the same space that they occupy within the picture.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Did a few mods with this one.

1. Moved the left boy to the left.

2. Changed the shrubs and tree.

3. Altered the buildings to a more uniform colour.

4. Added some mist to the bottom of the picture.

5. Did some colour grading.

Just some quick ideas of how I would approach such a picture.

That looks good. But I still have visual issues with the green casting.

Another suggestion I will venture to make, and this is purely my own preference visually speaking. I would not allow the green and yellow casting at the top of the picture to fall on the children. As it's behind them, it looks a little odd that the front of them are green and yellow. To my eyes it would look better if the children were back-lit by the colours as suggested by the picture layout. A small amount of inner glow, or a blurred layer behind the kids, or use a new child layer to highlight the edges (there's hundreds of ways to do it) would give good results. I attempted it but as I was working on a flattened image rather then a layered composite so it was too problematic.

I know who Pennywise is but who is the figure on the left meant to be?

All I can make out is green!! 🤔

The other person in the clouds is a character from Stephen King's novels called Maturin. In my IT fanfiction, I cast the actor Tim Curry in the role cause he played Pennywise/IT in the original IT mini-series from 1990. In the novel, he is described as a turtle in space. That is why I use the color green for him, and orange is the color of Pennywise's Deadlights,

Getting better but now the girl's colour is off when compared to the 2 boys. It looks like she's in a completely different scene.

When making adjustments always check what effect it has had on the rest of the composite and adjust accordingly.

Update: did a quick edit to show what I mean. I used the central boy as the colour model and shifted the colours toward it. Both left and right characters have been slightly modified.

You've completely changed it again.

Why?

I'm not trying to completely change it. Was just making the changes you suggested because I realized that the lighting wouldn't get in front of them. The final coloring was just the result of the 2 psds I used to try to add an overall effect to tie everything together. My final look is supposed to be more of a vintage VHS box look.

That would have been useful to know from the outset.

Sorry if I am being too difficult to work with :(

In order for people/me to assist you or give advice on your composite, then it would help enormously if we knew what it is you're trying to do with the composite.

Each time you change it dramatically confusion sets in and all focus is lost. You need to decide how you want the picture to look and build on that rather than keep changing it on a whim. I'm still not sure how you want it to look when complete? It's not for me to tell you how it should look - that's your choice entirely, but you need to give some kind of guidance so that people can be of real help to you.
