Chris26 Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 Hallo, I can not find a way to achieve this automatically since I have to do a few hundred of them. I want to be able to type the word and with an automatic couple of tabs have these dots in between. Example: Math.............................23 Pi...................................25 Feynman......................48 Thank you Chris Quote Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? Then looking for the dishwasher and finding it stored in the living room where you have to download a water supply from the app store, then you have to buy microsoft compliant soap, remove the carpet only to be told that it is glued to the floor.. Don't forget to make multiple copies of your front door key and post them to all who demand access to all the doors inside your home including the windows and outside shed. Apple - Like entering your home and opening the oak framed Kitchen door and finding the dishwasher right in front you ready to be switched on, soap supplied, and water that comes through a water softener. Ah the front door key is yours and it only needs to open the front door.

Hallo firstdefence, thanks for the reply. I already went here, but as you see in my screenshot there is no option for this. firstdefence 1 Quote Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? walt.farrell Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 You have to add a tab stop. Look at the + icon at the bottom of the box. firstdefence Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I think the add tab stop icon could be made more obvious, it's not as if they have to squeeze it in, they have plenty of space. So, I think I'm going to feedback with a slight amendment to the interface, wadda ya think, too subtle or have I played it just right? jmwellborn, PaulEC, Alfred and 2 others 5 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... Since they are not going to update V1 with anything like this, as for several other less than obvious icons in both V1 & V2, as a workaround of sorts I suggest setting a very short Tooltip delay so briefly hovering the pointer over the icons with less obvious functions will (for most of them) pop up a brief description. like "Add New Tab Stop" for that one. I think most people probably don't see that icon at all. Probably it should be at the top of the box, not hiding in isolation down at the bottom where there's little reason to look. I am not sure where it should be if it was at the top, but regardless I think users need to learn to look everywhere in the UI to see what is available, not just in this window but in all of them. Otherwise, they are likely to miss lots of features. After all, not everything can have a big bold icon & a descriptive label because if it did there would be little room for the document(s) or very many other studio panels. v_kyr Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 That icon could (as some others too) be more pronounced, so it's maybe overall better visable and recognizable by people. On MacOS versions these addtabstop icons (and many more App icons) are part of an App's "Resources/Assets.car" file, which in turn is build for macOS application via Xcode. As in XCode when app's assets are placed in an Assets.xcassets folder, XCode then can compile it to the CAR format, in order to distribute it with the app bundle. However, even there are third party tools to extract CAR file contents, in order to create such CAR files usually XCode is used and needed. - So if at all, I would best let the Affinity UI team update those icons (...as far as it's really needed). Just curious but how should it (& others) be made more pronounced? Made larger, brightly colored, something else? Personally, I think the UI still has contrast issues that if anything are worse in V2 than V1. There are several places in the UI where some users overlook icons, a prime example being the 3 line 'burger' icons on most studio panels that when clicked reveal menus of items with various panel-related options. They are at the top right of the panels, yet they still get overlooked, so I don't think it makes that much difference where the icons are.
