Hi, I am having issues with the lasso node selection in Affinity Designer (actually in the Designer Persona of Affinity Publisher, but I guess it's the same thing... right?). The tool is just not selecting anything, as you can see from the video.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Thanks

There is some serious weirdness going on here. Why and how did you get such a huge offset for the node tool dragging a selection area? The selection area should follow the Node tool pointer, not be offset like your video shows.

You could try the advice from Roy in The IT Crowd? "Have you tried turning it off and on again? "

Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Also, there are 3 red nodes in the selection, indicating that there are (at least) 3 different curve objects but in the Layers panel only a single Curve layer shows as selected, so there must be more curves selected at first.

One object is selected. The 'Curve' is one Curves object containing three paths, hence the three red end nodes.

Italian for curve is curva.

Italian for curves is curve.

That's just an artifact from the video recorder, there is no offset in reality.

Hi @tropilio,

Is this an issue you're able to replicate in the Designer Persona with any curve? This is working as expected for me when using the node tool lasso selection.

Hi, thanks for the support. For some reason, restarting the program "solved" the issue. Still, this behaviour is a little worrying...

I have also experienced the lasso selection not working on certain objects, even after a restart.

The objects in question are from a duplicated artboard.

The issue "Lasso node selection fails on duplicated shapes" (REF: AFD-6510) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1769".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
