walt.farrell Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 No problem for me, using Norton. Most likely a false positive from BitDefender, but potentially a corrupted download. If you right-click on the .exe in File Explorer, and select Properties, do you have a Digital Signature tab in the Properties panel? If not, the download was corrupted in-transit. _Th Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 In case it's of any value ... Designer and Photo both failed to complete the upgrade when they were blocked by Bitdefender. Planning to start over, I uninstalled Publisher. (Both Designer and Photo seemed to be uninstalled after the failed upgrade. Did not check/verify that their folders had been deleted.) For grins, I ran the same .exe installers again; all three installed no problem. One difference, and no clue if it's related, the first time I ran them, I right-clicked and did "Run as administrator." The second time, I ran them normally, e.g., just double clicked. Windows 11, Bitdefender, both up to date, Affinity .exe files downloaded today, 3/1/23 Now, off to check out the updates. Quote
Suetonius Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Like the rest, Bit Defender blocked my .exe install. Downloaded straight from Serif. Digital signitures were present. Simpy disabled Bitdefender and they all installed without a problem. Re-enabled Bitdefender and all is now sweetness and light. I hope Serif wil contact Bitdefender over this false positive. Quote
kenmcd Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Bitdefender users can report false positives here:https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/29358/ Looks like anybody, not just users, can make a report. Quote
AiDon Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 It is a false positive, seems to be an issue with bitdefender as no issues with Windows Security with either the .EXE or, of course, the APP. Staff Chris B Posted March 17, 2023 Staff Posted March 17, 2023 For what it is worth, I have contacted Bitdefender this morning. Hopefully we can get a permanent seat on their white list. Thanks _Th 1 Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
john30 Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 Thanks I did the same yesterday as it blocked the new beta again. Chris B 1 Quote

john30 Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 Great maybe they have fixed the problem now Quote
john30 Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 Bitdefender have now said "The analysis has been completed and the file is no longer detected now. Please update and recheck". I have asked them if this will now the installs of Affinity BETA in future without the problem but haven’t heard back yet Chris B 1 Quote
Staff Chris B Posted March 20, 2023 Staff Posted March 20, 2023 Ah brilliant - I haven't heard back yet but they did say a signature update would be within 72 hours so I'm pretty impressed. I informed them that our builds change on a weekly basis so they cannot just whitelist the one I submitted. I'm hoping all future builds will be fine. Staff Chris B Posted March 23, 2023 Staff Posted March 23, 2023 Thanks. I knew it was familiar. I've updated the report again seeing as it hasn't been updated since we started the beta. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
john30 Posted March 23, 2023 Author Posted March 23, 2023 I have no idea if the DNG for other Samsung are treated the same way or not. But I know the Ultras are selling in approaching Apple numbers now so to not be able to open there DNG correctly could put off any one using a trial Affinity. Chris B 1 Quote
john30 Posted March 29, 2023 Author Posted March 29, 2023 New BETA installed OK so they have done a permanent fix, but Samsung DNG still not fixed. Quote
