Confirmed: Works OK in V1

(Windows 11)

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Also confirmed here on Win 10. Might note it's not fixed in the current Beta.

Here's what's disturbing. I can not find any reference info for the menu command Release. I tried the Help file, both online and from within the app. If Serif documented it, they done a good job of burying it.

Edited

Why is it that after posting, which is after doing a lot of searching I finally come up with an answer...😒

Look at the command that Release is grouped with in the Right-click menu. Mask to Below. It is used to undo or release a Mask.

Serif needs to get on the ball, crack the whip on whomever is responsible for documentation, (help files) and at least document such things somewhere other than in their own minds. ;)

I know Ron, all I can think it might mean is to relocate a mask layer from being nested, perhaps it is a Photoshop expression. If it is this then that can be simply done by dragging the nested layer out from its parent. Seems to work fine on macOS.

Done more research on the Release right-click menu command.

In AP V1 and AD V1, the Release command does work for Releasing nested Group Layers, nested in a Group. In AP V2 AND AD V2, it is greyed out.

Must be a Windows version bug, seems ok on macOS and works as you describe it.

Hi @PierMax, everyone,
There's a couple inconsistencies here between versions (1 & 2) and OS's as well. I'm logging them to be looked at. Thanks for your support.

Was this ever determined to be a bug or by design, @MEB? I see there's no bug tag on the topic.
