You can isolate a particular layer by Alt-clicking the layer’s thumbnail in the Layers Panel.
Alternatively, you can isolate and zoom in to a particular layer by Alt-Double-clicking the layer’s thumbnail in the Layers Panel.

Thanks, exactly the function I wanted!

Triggering it isn't very convenient, tho. Is there a shortcut I can use? Can't seem to find one..

Myself I have always used the double tap on the icon of the selected layer to zoom to that size. This is on Mac OS11.6.2

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Does the suggested keyboard shortcut work for you on mac?

Neither CTRL+Opt+0 nor any other keyboard shortcut I can find or create works for me on my Mac. Only double-clicking on the Layer in the Layers panel does that -- in Affinity Photo for Mac.

With CMD. There is a "Zoom to Selection" shortcut available in AD & APub, but not in AP, which @antonkudin said was the app used on that Mac. The View > Zoom preference options for AD are on the left, followed by those for AP:

In AP, for consistency "Zoom to Selection" should be the item below "Zoom to Width" but it is MIA.

Thanks. Same on Windows. And the function is not present in Preferences / Keyboard Shortcuts, either.

So I wonder if this is an oversight or an intentional omission?

Seem like an important thing to have no matter the platform.

Just so it is clear, on both desktop platforms (Mac  & Windows) there is a Zoom To Selection menu item & an available shortcut for it on 2 of the 3 Affinity apps (in Affinity Designer & in Affinity Publisher) but on both platforms it is missing from Affinity Photo.

That search does not seem to find anything related to the Mac version of Affinity Photo. Please keep in mimd that @antonkudin mentioned here that this is for AP running on a Mac.

Yes, but in the meantime....

On canvas, I've just used spacebar+cmd+option(alt) and dragged out a little marque wherever I wanted to go. Worked pretty well in most cases.

(In layers, of course.. as stated above, it's just a double click on the thumbnail. No modifiers. Just restating...)

Please note that it is only Affinity Photo (on both Mac or Windows) that lack the ability to set a shortcut for Zoom to Selection. Affinity Designer & Affinity Publisher both include that capability. I am not sure if there have been many requests for its inclusion in Affinity Photo.

That works OK for me if I remember to hold down the spacebar first, slightly before pressing the CMD & Option keys. Any other order either produces a system error beep or pops up the Mac Finder search window, I guess because I have set that somewhere in System Preferences. Either way, it is annoying.

Guess (in a week or so) I'll make a feature request to bring this feature into Photo.

You might want to search through the feature requests forum to see if there are already any topics requesting it & if you find one add your post to that.
