John Rostron Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 In the Photo Help page for Blend Ranges it says "On the Layers panel, select a layer and then click Blend Ranges". But the Layers Panel does not have an entry for Blend Ranges. John Quote Windows 11, Affinity Photo 2.4.2 Designer 2.4.2 and Publisher 2.4.2 (mainly Photo). CPU: Intel Core i5 8500 @ 3.00GHz. Old Bruce Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Select your layer and click on the little Cog Wheel at the top of the layers panel. It really would be better if the Help referred specifically to the Cog icon so that the user knows where to look! (It’s also less than obvious why the tooltip says ‘Blend Ranges’ but the title of the dialog that pops up is ‘Blend Options’.) carl123 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

R C-R Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 FWIW, there is also a "Blend Ranges" tooltip in the Layers panel that pops up if you hover the pointer over the cog icon. Long ago, when I was still learning where everything is in the app, I set the tooltip delay to about 1 second. For things like this it is really helpful. Maybe they thought that the tooltip name made the button's function clear enough -- it opens the window so at that point there should be no confusion about what the blend options are. Whatever their reasoning, I can’t see them changing it now (cf. the Gradient/Fill Tool naming question).
