Joachim_L Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Burny is correct. Happens for me too. But there is more going wrong: Switch Page Box to Minimum or Maximum Content. ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed
Michail Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 As it seems, it now only works with embedded PSD files. Also double-clicking the image only works with embedded PSD files. For affinity files, both transparency and double-clicking work. But with a linked file the image must be saved after a change. With an embedded file the document is updated ad hoc.

With an embedded file the document is updated ad hoc. That's standard behavior for Linked vs Embedded document files in Publisher. Linked files must be saved back to the original when edited (assuming Publisher allows them to be edited). Embedded files are automatically saved back into the Publisher document when they're edited. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Michail Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I know, @walt.farrell. This was not a bug report, but an explanation for the OP 🙂 But something is wrong with the PSD import!
walt.farrell Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 6 hours ago, Michail said: But something is wrong with the PSD import! Why do you say that? If you're referring to not being able to double-click and edit, that's probably working as intended. I think it is common for some kinds of Linked documents not to be editable in the Affinity applications; only the Replace Document button will be available, not the Edit Document button. I think you'll find that happens with PDF documents, too, for example. When Affinity had converted the Linked document into an internal format, it won't allow you to edit it after that. Editing only works, for those document types, when you've Embedded them. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff AdamW Posted October 29, 2020 Staff Posted October 29, 2020 Hi - Thanks for the feedback. We are aware of this regression with PSD import and have a fix pending. Joachim_L 1
