Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Enrique. :)

There is no need to deactivate anything. The single-user licence permits you to install the software on any computer (using the same platform) that you own or control, so you can simply install the software on your new Mac. You would only need to delete the app from your old Mac if you’re going to sell it or give it away.

And (possibly) the license:

That’s true, Walt, although what I actually meant is that you wouldn’t have to delete the app unless you were passing the computer on to someone else. I didn’t mean to imply that deleting the app is the only thing you would need to do if you were selling or donating the machine.

I need clarification: If you follow Apple’s procedures to reset your iMac before selling, doesn’t that delete all necessary files?

I imagine it would, but I’m not a Mac user! What I was saying in my earlier post is that if you were going to keep your old Mac you could simply leave the app and any associated files in place, since the licence allows concurrent installations on any machines owned or controlled by the licensee.

I’m a Mac user and following Apple’s procedures, the MAC should be a new machine.  Walt had made a comment: “And (possibly) the license:”  Potential problem if data was stored on external device and not formatted to erase any backups or other Application data.  I guess expert hacker could identify potential data.

Probably, but this isn’t about guarding data against potential exploitation by hackers. It’s about complying with a non-transferable licence.

For reference, this is Apple's six step procedure. Among other things, it will delete all license info, making it unrecoverable by anything short of exotic forensic techniques, like those a government agency might use. The chances of anybody doing that just to steal application licensing info is essentially zero.

Quick answer: Affinity v1 licences are not transferable and v1 is no longer available to buy. Affinity v2 is now available and is currently on sale.
