Enrique de Madaria Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Hi, I bought Affinity dessigner for mac, and I have bought a new Mac, I want to migrate the licence to the new Mac and deactivate the licence on the old one, How should I proceed? Best wishes Enrique Quote
Alfred Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Enrique. There is no need to deactivate anything. The single-user licence permits you to install the software on any computer (using the same platform) that you own or control, so you can simply install the software on your new Mac. You would only need to delete the app from your old Mac if you’re going to sell it or give it away. I didn’t mean to imply that deleting the app is the only thing you would need to do if you were selling or donating the machine. walt.farrell 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)

I need clarification: If you follow Apple’s procedures to reset your iMac before selling, doesn’t that delete all necessary files? I imagine it would, but I’m not a Mac user! What I was saying in my earlier post is that if you were going to keep your old Mac you could simply leave the app and any associated files in place, since the licence allows concurrent installations on any machines owned or controlled by the licensee. Probably, but this isn’t about guarding data against potential exploitation by hackers. It’s about complying with a non-transferable licence. Among other things, it will delete all license info, making it unrecoverable by anything short of exotic forensic techniques, like those a government agency might use. The chances of anybody doing that just to steal application licensing info is essentially zero. PaulEC Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Quick answer: Affinity v1 licences are not transferable and v1 is no longer available to buy. Affinity v2 is now available and is currently on sale.
