  1. In Affinity Photo, if I move the pixel, its edge will become smoothed out. (I always draw with brush with 85% hardness above) Regardless it is select all pixel in a layer then move; or select a portion of a layer with selection tool then move, the hardness of the pixel become very soft. Is this a feature? Or simply the pixel too low? lol
  2. Hi guys, so I have been using the Affinity studio bundle for a year now, almost completely migrated from the Adobe products. Anyway, there are a few things that I miss. 1) For instance, is there a way to move document pages/spreads via some kind of a command/tool (move pages 10–15 before/after page 128)? It is quite annoying to drag them in the panel, especially in the extensive document. 2) Being not able to minimize the studio is also a pain. 3) Is there a way to scale an object, text frame etc. by % value? Did not find any tool for this, and I consider it as a basic feature. Sorry for the grammar (I am not a native speaker.) [MAC OS 10.15.6, MacBook Pro Late 2013, 15-inch, 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, 500GB SSD]
  3. I have designer for the iPad. When I use my Apple pencil and try to select/tap objects neither tool works correctly I think. I have to "drag" with my move tool to select object and then select the node tool in order to select nodes. Neither of them work by tapping the object. Is this how it works or am I doing something wrong.
  4. Designer 1.8.5.703 on Windows 10 Home. If you watch the video you can see that: 1. Moving the Transform Origin seems to be fine except when the layer is also moved (maybe because snapping is ‘revoked’?); 2. There are redraw issues when the user presses and releases the right mouse button while moving the Transform Origin. Note: I looked for other reports but couldn’t find any that mentioned these issues. Apologies if this is a duplicate. 2020-08-30 12-49-26.mp4
  5. When clicking blank area, selected layer will be deselected. This makes people confused. I know this behavior is inherited from Designer which is similar to Illustrator or DrawPlus. But would be nice if you could add an option not to deselect on clicking blank area. So former Photoashop/PhotoPlus users will be comfortable.
  6. Is it possible to move a object toward rotated angle with Transform panel? (Without reverting back rotation once)
  7. Would be nice if I could move a object toward rotated angle by numeric input on Transform panel. E.g. activating the option when Alignment Handle is enabled.
  8. Is there a way to nudge a layer on the iPad Pro? When I look under the help files on the open screen it mentions it but it doesn't say how to do it. Since there are no arrow keys is it possible?
  9. Hi there. Not sure if someone else noticed it before. My nudge distance is set to 1 pixel but this doesn't work as it should do. I'm getting decimal values all the time which is very disappointing. Is this a bug or I'm the only person who is experiencing this? Looking forward to your opinion friends.
  10. The desktop version of Affinity Photo has a series of helpful Move tool modifiers available in the toolbar. Which of these are also available in the iPad version either as a button, a menu option, or as a multi-touch modifier? Enable Transform Origin (I'm particularly interested in this one) Hide Selection while Dragging Show Alignment Handles Transform Objects Separately Cycle Selection Box (attached screenshot is from Affinity Photo for Mac 1.7.2.151)
  11. OK, so this is driving me crazy as hell. I use transform panel all the time. And I would expect that when I press Escape key I will return to the workspace. But no - the cursor stays in the field of Transform panel and I have to either click inside the working space to get away. Too cumbersome and strange behaviour. For example I need to change the size of an object - I go to Transform Panel, change the size and then I want to move the object around using keyboard. So after pressing Escape I should be able to go on, but the cursor is still within the transform panel and when I click on keyboard arrows to move the object, its size changes instead... I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right, I hope so. Maybe I can set up this Escape shortcut - but I don't know where exactly... If you can help I will much appreciate it. Thank you.
  12. I have a problem with selecting vector objects in Designer via the Move or Node tool. That is, if I find it difficult to select by clicking on an object. Sometimes it works, others it just doesn't and others yet the selection happens with the tool slightly offset to the object (i.e. by pointing the tool a little away from the object, which can be quite confusing when there are lots of shapes). More often than I'd like, I have to scroll to the layer in the Layer Panel just to go to a desired object. I use a Macbook Pro (still on Mojave) and a Wacom Inutos Pro (no mouse, but the problem stays even if I try to use the Macbook's trackpad).
  13. I’ve just tried to edit some text pasted in from LibreOffice Writer (paste as plain text), and when I type, the editor moves the text cursor to the end of the line. See my attached GIF where I try a few times in different ways and it seems to move the cursor when I press SPACE. Not a massive problem but unexpected.
  14. Hello, I have two lines. From the first, I move point A with the node tool to position B. Now, I want to move the point A from a second line with the same values. How can I do this?
  15. I know, I can move by typing x or y plus …, but if possible, it would be great I can do this in the Transformation Menu like this ...
  16. I have to close the window and open again to move.
  17. When I move documents to a project folder, I can usually move one but when I try to move the second one it crashes.
  18. Updated: Fixed, see last line. Hello, Odd behavior experienced: In a particular file I can no longer move-clone items. To be specific, I mean when using the Move tool and you press Ctrl and then drag an item. The expected behavior is to have the item move-cloned. My resulting behavior is the item is simply moved. The erratic behavior is experienced with many kinds of item: tried with curve, shape and pixel. Only in this document. Affinity Photo 1.7.0.367 on Windows 10 Update: found that I had a document-wide pixel selection ongoing (marching ants). Ctrl-D to deselect and now the Move tool works as expected.
  19. Has hiding the selection line been asked about before? I used this a lot in PS and it was very helpful when tweaking/aligning the image portion to see behind the marching ants. Also, even though I'm impressed with the image adjustment tools, some buttons for moving a single pixel at a time would be useful as well. Thanks
  20. Windows 10 Home 1809, Publisher 1.7.0.227. I'm not sure if this behaviour is correct or not - so I'm not sure if it's a bug or not - but I'll try and explain what's happening. I can create some Artistic Text and use the Transparency Tool to give it a transparent gradient. All well and good. Then I can create another bit of Artistic Text elsewhere the page. However, the transparency gradient of the first bit of text has been copied over to the new text but in exactly the same place as it is in the first text, which means that the transparency gradient no longer covers the second text. Is this expected behaviour? It took me a while to figure out what was happening when I first saw this. I've attached a GIF to show what I mean.
  21. When I have a lot of nodes in a small space, I am finding it very hard to move a specific node. A lot of times i go to drag a node and it catches the smooth tool right next to it instead. It would be nice if I could use the select tool to select the node or nodes I need to move and then (with move selected) drag from anywhere on the canvas to move the nodes in what ever direction I am swiping. I figured this would already be an option since very often there are multiple nodes in a small space and you cant zoom in too far to separate them because while zoomed, you cant move the node very far but I cant seem to find a way. When I try to drag from anywhere, it ends up selecting a different object instead (I have to drag from directly on the node which means I have to be zoomed in too far to move it where I need).
  22. When an object is selected it has the blue transformation handles. When moving an object with the keyboard arrows, or nudging it, is there a way to have those handles disappear so that I can see finer details about where I'm placing the object? I feel like this functionality was working when I first installed Affinity, but now it seems to have disappeared. Thanks!
  23. Hello! Often there can be the situation that you want to move (more exact: translate) selected object(s) by some distance given by other existing objects/snappable targets on the artboard. I'd like to propose a very simple way to achieve this - by being able to use the Center as a handle. See attached image. Maybe holding CTRL while dragging the Center could invoke this 'locked' mode. Most 3d graphics apps have an Axis tripod (= the analogy to the Center here), and in some (Cinema 4D, Rhino, Softimage, ...) the axis can be used in the exact same way. It's called "temporary pivot", or "working pivot". Very useful! Example: imagine a ladder, with equidistant rungs. One rung is missing, and you want to copy the neighbour rung to fill the hole. How would you get the right snapping distance quickly? With this method, it'd be simple. The Center, by now, is used to 'assist' Rotate and Scale. It could easily be utilized to assist with Move, too. Hope it's clear. Thanks for considering!
  24. Affinity Designer version 1.6.5.123: Grouping objects moves them. there is a another post about this problem but there is no fix. Group Bug.afdesign
  25. Two problems that, for use of Affinity Designer in technical illustration, I would like to see resolved: 1) What is the best way to scale (resize) an object, say up or down a certain percentage? Do you have to do the math and enter new values in the width/height edit boxes in the Transform studio panel? 2) What is the best way to move an object a certain distance in a certain direction? Again, do you need to do the addition/subtraction and enter the calculated values in the X/Y boxes of the Transform panel? Thanks for assistance!!
