I opened a raw image and set Detail Refinement Radius to 20% question is which part of image is affected and how many pixels are affected? Also what is an existing light pixel? What is the relation between Radius and amount?

Would somebody explain what exactly are raw images?

So I am a bit disappointed so I am going to hope really hard that I am just missing something, a work around is available, or this is being addressed by development so to the point: WHY IS THE WINDOWS APP STORE VERSION A LESS FUNCTIONAL VERSION? I paid the exact same price for Affinity Photo via the Windows App Store but I don't get plugins? I don't get simple "Edit In" function from Lightroom? I don't get access to the betas? WTF? I looked at some other threads in the Questions section and found a few people asking the same question but only one that seemed to have any response from Serif. TLDR version of that post is basically "Why would we put the things you can't do on the marketing page of our application?" Thats a bit of a BS response. You don't have to list all the things it can't do but you could make a simple mention that the Windows App version may not have all the same functionality as the version directly from Serif due to limitations on how Windows App Store apps are handled. So again I paid the same price in the Windows Store as I would have directly through Serif but I don't get full functionality. So if anyone has any information on how to circumvent this issue I would be really appreciative. If not there is always the refund route and I'll make sure to move along from Serif. Not because their application is bad but because when asked about these types of things their moderators give pretty shifty responses and it just seems like a bad business model to charge certain groups of people the same amount for a version of a product that is technically inferior without being transparent about it.

Hey, This might sound so imature but there are actually digners that redesign textures in minecraft. I regular use photoshop to create these designs but now i found this tool for only 60 bucks permanent and thaught if this is a good replacedment. I need to know which program i should rather use when im only designing with my mouse on rasters in pixels (16x16, 32x32, 64x64 ....). Siaro~

I use a Canon D6 Mark II which produces a .CR2 RAW file format. When importing using the Serif engine I was getting a purple haze, so using the Assistant Manager I changed the engine to Apple. I closed Affinity Photo and tried the same file again. Now CR2 files open as completely black. My camera is listed as a supported format on the Apple web site: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207972. I will attach an example file here. I am able to view this file in Photos on my iMac. When I make a LUT in affinity photo I will generally compare it to my original edit. But when I make a LUT in Affinity Photo the colors seem to switch. I made an edit to a photo giving it a teal tint and when I applied the LUT to that same image to compare it, it came out as an orange tint. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Thanks

Hi I paid a designer to create a logo for me. They have done it using Adobe Illustrator and esported to .eps and .pdf for me. When I open the pdf file in Adobe Reader or Internet Explorer, the logo loos as expected. However, when I open both the .eps file and the .pdf file in Affinity Photo, there are gaps between the shapes/colours, which should be touching eachother with no gaps. Is this a bug with Affinity Photo? As a result of the issues, the files provided to me are useless because I cannot do anything with them without there being a gap between the colours. I have attached 2 screen captures of the problem - you can see the problem more clearly on the one where I have zoomed in - there are white pixels along the edge of the vector edges, even though the shap has no outline, just a fill. It's almost as if Affinity Photo is not anti-aliasing the edges correctly. One thing I thought it might have been, is when AP tries to 'snap to pixels' so I turned that option off before opening the file but it made no difference. Any thoughts/comments/suggestions appreciated!!!! Thanks, Rob

No matter how soft, hard, change of flow, brush etc. when using the clone stamp tools it clones in a hard circle. It doesn’t blend at all because it has hard edges. Any idea what is going on? Is there a way to reset this tool?

Hi, I've been trying to find an answer to this for a while and haven't figured it out yet, so hopefully someone can help me get to the bottom of this. I've been given a file with a UI that was created in Affinity Photo, not Affinity Designer, and need to bring this into Sketch to continue the rest of the UI. However, I'm not sure of how I can export the file into Sketch and preserve all the layers? This might have been easier if I was from a vector to vector program, but I'm going from a raster to vector program, so I'm not entirely sure how this will work out, or if I'll have to end up recreating the entire thing in Sketch. Please let me know if you have any good workarounds or if someone else has figured this out yet. Thanks!

What are the ways to edit or repair old and damaged Black and White Photos? Where to start?

When creating a selection, it would be great to change its placement (start point) during the creating of the mask, as in Photoshop, perhaps by pressing the Space Alt key. Same function even when cropping.

Hello all, I tried my hand at editing a photo of my wife while we were on vacation and wanted to get some feedback on what I did wrong and what could be better. Also, if you look at her glasses you can see a purple hue from the sun’s reflection—I tried for an hour to figure out a way to isolate the color and remove it to no avail—any idea how I can remove it? Hi, I am thinking of buying Affinity Photo because of:- the price, it is purchase not rent, it has excellent reviews and the online tutorials look very good and are English not American. Looking at the website I cannot see support for Lightroom's DNG file system which all my photos are in. Is this the case and if so does that mean I am going to have to convert every photo I want work on in Affinity, export it to a folder and then import it into Affinity, or am I missing something?

Hi. The Nik Collection was not functioning in my copy of AF Photo 1.6 for Mac. So I uninstalled the Nik Collection thinking I could simply reinstall it. I did this , but AF Photo will only open the welcome page and then it crashes. Please advise. CMM

This year's Kasper Kristmas Kard. I can't claim any credit (kredit?) for the original image, but AP allowed me to do the fiddly bits to make the mouth shapes for lip sync and the eyes. The mouth/eye animation was done with Anime Studio 10, and the final composite in Serif's MoviePlus X6. Have a great Christmas folks!
