  1. Hi, Is it somehow possible to import a SVG into an existing AD drawboard, and make the vectors part of the design, without working on it as an imbedded object?
Was mache ich falsch? Muss ich die irgendwie speziell aufbereiten? Bitte um Hilfe!
  3. Hello, new Designer user here. I'm a web developer / designer and am trying to create scriptable SVG for web applications. I think I've encountered a bug when exporting a document containing gradients as SVG: I have a document that features several types of gradients and when I export the document allowing no rasterization allowed, one gradient gets inserted to the SVG document with mismatching tags as follows: <linearGradient>....</radialGradient> Chrome displays the following error output: This page contains the following errors:error on line 2095 at column 737: Opening and ending tag mismatch: linearGradient line 0 and radialGradient Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
  4. Hi There's an error when the image is exported as an SVG. One of the images gets flipped when I export it. See attached screenshots :) slider-navigation.svg
  5. I might be missing something really obvious here, but I can't appear to find any answers. Is it possible to add SVG code around shapes or groups such as animation or href tags via the 'export persona' workspace? If so can anybody guide me to information on how to do so? Cheers.
  6. I'm having an issue opening a specific svg or pdf formatted file. I can display the file fine using other applications but trying to use it as a part of a graphic project is proving impossible. I've attached the pdf, svg and a tiff version of the file so you can see what it should look like. The PDF displays fine using Preview.app and the SVG looks correct in Safari. I note there are a couple other recent reports of issues with pdf and svg file interpretation but not sure if this is related. qrcode-bc-kb.pdf qrcode-bc-kb.svg qrcode-bc-kb.tiff
  7. Hello guys (and affinity designer pros), I tried now 8 hours to fix this bug and it makes me crazy!!! First I have to say, I am not into graphic design, so I am only self-taught and everything I don't know how to do, I don not have any clue where to look for or what to google... I made an image with two colors, black and light green (#8EDB8D). Unfortunately because I don't have any clue about color management, when I save my image as JPG or PNG the colors look pale and sickly. I found out that it has something to do with RGB/CMYK conversion of print views and web views. Anyway I found an article in a forum, that I can save my picture as SVG (no rasterize) and open it again and export from new to JPG and then it should work... actually it did! For lots of small graphics consisting of texts and curves, this was a quite useful and effective workaround for noobs like me. Unfortunately, I made also an important big document with text, curves and pixel layers (I bought a Wacom tablet and drew some sketches, mostly shadows on my (boring) curves to have them look more realistic. I am quite happy with my results, because I started two weeks ago with 'graphic design'. Unfortunately, when I now export to SVG (without rasterize), all pixel layers disappear. If I export to SVG format with rasterize, they appear, but most graphics seem to be placed incorrect and stretched, so it seems to be difficult for lots of small pictures to correct them all by hand after a conversion, which should work automatically. So here's my two questions: 1) Does anyone know the official preferred way to convert my image without workaround (SVG conversion) to have the colors not being shale? 2) If not possible, does anyone know a way, how I can use my workaround with SVG conversion without disappearing all handmade pixel layers or having them stretched? BONUS: Does anyone know something else how to fix this? I'll attach my afdesign file (How to Flyer CMYK4) and a another jpg file (U CMYK) that shows, how the color of the light green should look like after conversion (not that pale, slicky one). Sorry for the probably dumb question... Thanks in advance for your support guys! You can't think how much your help will get me hope again, that it is possible with Affinity Designer to do some basic sketches for my homepage... Best regards, Matthias How to Flyer CMYK4.afdesign
  8. Using Affinity photo 1.5.1., export an image as an svg and if it has, say, a layer which has been flood-filled with a single colour, the resulting svg file has a rasterised element with the single colour split up by the occasional fine horizontal or vertical line. There might be two issues here: Affinity Photo doesn't 'Know' that the flood-filled area could be exported as a vector element - and then, on exporting it as an svg, those lines appear. This doesn't happen if exported in other formats. I've attached an .afphoto file that produces a svg exported file with the fine lines issue (also attached). The exported file has only a single horizontal line. With other files, the problem is happy to cough out vertical lines too though. (Workaround: if you need a single colour layer, draw a rectangle, filling the canvas, and set fill and stroke colours to what you need them to be) Mark svgexport-test.afphoto svgexport-test.svg
  9. I'm using SVG as an exchange format for a project to get data into Affinity Designer. The SVG standard does not support all blend modes that Designer supports, for instance the very useful "Erase" option is not supported. It would be cool if the SVG importer would simply accept the non-standard blend modes that are supported in Designer but not officially part of SVG instead of reverting to "Normal".
  10. I have a grid spaced to my application, which is very sensitive to the positioning of the gridlines (they are positioned with subpixel accuracy, in an svg with a repeating pattern, converted to a PDF). Try placing something under the grid and zoom in Affinity Designer and you will see the gridline positions changing with respect to the background. Another issue I have is that I can't import the patterned SVG, and I can't export this PDF without AD rasterizing it... EDIT: This is using AD version 1.5.4. Greetings, Josef a4l_grid.pdf
  11. Hi Just switched to Affinity Designer this week and love the app. I'm a Web/UI designer and need to able to export svg icons for web. I like the export features in AD, but I'm having an issue with the exported SVGs. The svg tag within the the svg file is exported with height and width set to 100%. (eg. <svg width="100%" height="100%" viewBox="0 0 44 44" … ). This is given me problems with creating svg icons to be used as background img in css, which needs specifically defined height & width in pixels. Right now I would have to open the svgs in a text editor and change them manually, which isn't a fun thing to do. So I'd like to see an export option that would set those dimension based on the slice dimensions, in pixels. Thanks for making such a great app. -Pete
  12. Hello, I am trying to load SVG icons from font-awesome these instructions: https://youtu.be/30eCJHahaLY Designer crashes. SVG file (sprites.svg): https://raw.githubusercontent.com/encharm/Font-Awesome-SVG-PNG/master/sprites.svg or: https://github.com/encharm/Font-Awesome-SVG-PNG The second problem, the designer crashes, I wrote here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28941-designer-crashes-when-switching-between-edit-in-photo-and-edit-in-designer/ I think Designer crashes each if done longer or more challenging activities and Windows waits for a response and unfortunately kills Designer program. Tested on 2 computers: - windows 10 Home - windows 10 PRO Designer version: Affinity Designer for Windows (full version after purchase) I hope it will be resolved soon :( Thank you M. 13. I am having some issues exporting PNGs from the SVGs in this pack from kenney.nl: http://kenney.nl/content/4-assets/41-platformer-art-deluxe/platformer-art-complete-pack-0.zip The SVG file in that pack is in the following location "Base pack/Vector/tiles.svg" An example of a properly exported PNG without weird gaps is here: "Base pack/Tiles/grassCenter.png" Please find the result when I export that part of the SVG attached, it has either white gaps or transparent gaps (this depends on the section of the SVG I try and export). I understand that there isn't any overlapping of the SVG paths and believe this might be the issue. Suggestions on how to workaround this issue would be much appreciated.
  14. Not entirely sure as to what the intended behavior is but it would appear that exporting as SVG after having resized the document with Rescale option will ignore the resize. The resulting SVG root element will have the original dimensions set while I expected the exported image to have the newly set dimensions. If I resize the document using Anchoring option and scale the contents manually, everything works as expected. This occurs only when not adding viewBox. I don't want the exported image to fill the container.
  15. I did an SVG conversion on a jpeg and when I open it in Affinity my machine falls over (memory issue). Machine has 8GB Physical ram and 4GB Video ram. Weirdly, I can open the file and work with it very comfortably in Inkscape Is there anything I can tweak to avoid this issue in future? Are SVG's problematic in Affinity? Is there another format that it might play nicer with? Thanks J memory hog.svg
  16. The attached file was generated using http://www.makercase.com/ When opened in Affinity Designer, objects in the file have incorrect sizes, they are larger than what is expected. The SVG opens with the correct dimensions in Inkscape. raw_spice_rack.svg
  17. It would be very useful for the batch function to be able to save as SVG and to be able to select a whole folder as the input rather than individual files
  18. In Affinity Designer, when exporting the attached file "Rasterized.afdesign" as SVG, the result is rasterized. It does not happen with the other attached file, even though it is completely the same content. It also happens when copying the former file's group layer into another/new file, but not when copying the curve layer within the group. It also doesn't happen when ungrouping and then grouping the curve layer again, so it must be the group that is causing the issue. The only difference I know of, is that the group layer comes from an imported PDF file. Rasterized.afdesign Not Rasterized.afdesign
  19. Does the design loose some of it's effect like gradient/shadows when it is exported to EPS or SVG? I exported a design to EPS and SVG. I had a gradient button. I can't edit the features.
  20. Currently exporting masked objects as SVG causes the objects to become rasterized. Disabling rasterization altogether when exporting will cause the mask object to end up visible in the result. Why is this? SVG supports masking after all. Clipping seems to be supported so why not masking?
  21. Hi SVG export is making a 192 byte file into a 15.7Kb file in v1.5.4 of AD. If you load the attached file - a simple SVG with a rect then export as SVG web it makes a monster file! First time AD has not performed well for SVG export for me. Tried a few times - same result each time. Very odd.
  22. Hi, when i export a Text as SVG from Affinity and then i import it in a 3d Software, all letters are a curve of their own. How can i export a word as ONE curve that can be changed in a 3D-Software. Thank you.
  23. I'm making a set of icons in SVG format, and have them all on their own artboard in 1 document. Exporting an artboard to SVG (with no border or fill) includes a <rect> tag named like the artboard. I'd expect the artboard to just set the width/height & viewbox properties of the export, not to have its own rect path. Maybe this could be just a checkbox in the export options?
  24. Hi , i was wondering if it would be possible to copy and paste content in SVG code or HTML5 from Affinity Designer to any text editor?
  25. Hi, I want to export a slice to an SVG file. That works so far, but I have one problem, see screenshot. I assumed that the slice defines the area what gets exported. Since some elements are now outside this area, these get exported too. Rendering my SVG not useable. I would like to avoid, that I have to design everything fitting my export area etc. Any idea what to do?
