  1. Yes same problem for me. Icon development for clean svg Icons is nearly impossible for me. So the whole program is useless for me. Still forced to stay with AI...

    CPU used when sitting idle

same for me on Windows(!). Constantly using around 10% CPU on a Dell m3800 QuadCore 16GB RAM while a larger document is open without working on it. I took the Process Explorer to see which threads are working behind. Eventuelly it may help:
  3. I really would love to completeley change from AI to Affinity but at the moment, the SVG-export has too much overload for me for web usage as you can see here for one simple icon: AI: <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"width="30" height="30" viewBox="0 0 30 30"> <defs><style>.a{fill:#007a53;fill-rule:evenodd;}</style></defs><title>vk4</title> <path class="a" d="M26,7.5h-1.5V27h-5V7.5H18L22,3ZM17.48,25h-5V13.5H11L15,9,19,13.5h-1.5Zm-7-2h-5V11H4L8,6.5,12,11h-1.5Z"/> </svg> Affinity: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <!DOCTYPE svg PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD SVG 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/1.1/DTD/svg11.dtd"> <svgwidth="100%" height="100%" viewBox="0 0 30 30" version="1.1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xml:space="preserve" style="fill-rule:evenodd;clip-rule:evenodd;stroke-linejoin:round;stroke-miterlimit:1.41421;"> <rect id="ArtBoard1" x="-160" y="-760" width="1280" height="800" style="fill:none;"/> <clipPath id="_clip1"> <rect id="ArtBoard11" x="-160" y="-760" width="1280" height="800"/> </clipPath> <g clip-path="url(#_clip1)"> <path d="M10.475,23l-4.95,0l0,-12l-1.5,0l4,-4.5l3.95,4.5l-1.5,0l0,12Zm7,2l-4.95,0l0,-11.5l-1.5,0l4,-4.5l3.95,4.5l-1.5,0l0,11.5Zm8.5,-17.5l-1.5,0l0,19.5l-4.95,0l0,-19.5l-1.5,0l4,-4.5l3.95,4.5Z" style="fill:#007a53;"/> </g> </svg> Could you make an export option for a super minified svg? Especially all the Artboard stuff is unnecessary... or am I'm doing something wrong here? This would be great and I guess many other people would like this feature too...
  4. Ok, cool, but now: Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for the great work and support :-) And best whishes for 2017...
  5. Hm, I just discoverd Firefox has also problems with the printer. The driver ist quite old (2009 Vindows Vista 64bit). There isn't any newer version sadly. But it works flawless in the Adobe-Universe and MS Office stuff... Perhaps you find a solution or I always have to print via PDF...
  6. Ah, I just found out selecting an other default printer (Samsung) in Windows solves the problem to get the printer dialog back. So I discovered that every printer works but the DELL Laser Printer 5100cn PCL6 driver. I now will try to get a newer driver version or reiinstall the existing...
  7. hi pauls, the problem started with a DELL 5100cn printer. I guess Affinity remembers the last printer, so it now crashes on opening the print dialog because it tries to access someting from the printer driver. I don't know what you mean with media types. There is nothing special except there are a view printer drivers installed: Adobe PDF, DEll Laser Printer 5100cn PCL6, EPSON Stylus Pro 4880 (I think to remember this made trouble too), Fax, Microsoft Print to PDF, Microsoft XPS Document Writer, RICOH CLASS Driver, Samsung Universal Print Driver, Send To OneNote 2016 (so, only 3 "real" printers here). Is there any way to reset the default printer in Affinity (some prefs?). So I can try the others? As said before: Affinity crashes immediatly by opening the print dialog...
  8. If I try to open the printing dialog (cmd+P) Affinity 1.5.1.43 crashes completely. At first this happend only if trying to open the printer settings out of the printer dialog, now even opening the printer dialog crashes Affinity. I checked with Process Monitor (Sysinternal tool) and get a lot of BUFFER OVERFLOW messages. I can send you the log in Process Monitors' own log format if it would help you...
  9. Oh, that would mean the order can't be changed by manually resorting? ... No, I just checked that. They can be reordered. OK, I understand your argument, that definitly makes sense that way. I think I will get used to it... all other ideas don't work because the artboard is like graphic object (can lay in front or behind), so appending artboards at the bottom of the list also doesn't work (if they overlap).
  10. Yes, please... vertical text alignment would be great or even better: Allow directly typing into shapes in the way Powerpoint does. Or make it possible to change a shape to a textbox while preserving the visual attributes... by the way: Is there an option to toggle between the two text modes (framed and not framed text)? Thanks
  11. Same for me, please make the export order top-down. Thanks
