  1. An old airbrush (the analog type that must be hooked up to a compressor) edited extensively in Affinity Photo, because I became increasingly less pleased with the result as time passed and it currently is no longer in my possession. After much tinkering I think it now looks like it should have looked years ago. More info on this work in my portfolio blog: https://communicats.blogspot.com/2019/11/digitally-edited-freehand-airbrush-of.html
  2. Hi! It'w be a super if Affinity Photo has Ability to use tools Burn, Dodge, Sponge for mask. Using the Dodge and burn on a mask layer is handy when using to affect only shadows, midtones or highlights. Thanks for attention
  3. I am using Affinity Photo and I have exported an image, but the colors are all f'd up on some programs. Attached are some images showing the discrepancy. I have no clue why they won't display correctly on most programs, especially since some are displaying it correctly.
  4. Hey y'all! Let me introduce myself. My name is Rens (Instagram @i.am.rensi). I've made the switch from PS to Affinity Photo since summer 2019 and I absolutely love it. I figured there's quite some of you asking how to create surreal imagery, so I decided to create tutorials about manipulation and photo compositing. You can find them on my YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/2qABVXW I will show you step by step how I created these two fun images. Let me know what you think of them and how I can improve my videos so I can serve you better! Stay creative! Rens van Daalen
  5. Originally published in 1897 as A Mad Song, Wandering Aengus (or The Golden Apples of the Sun) has been popular set to music, and it's haunted my since I first learnt it in the seventies. This image is a composite of two Unsplash photos, woodland by John Westrock and girl by Dylan Nolte. Sparkles, vignette and other fiddly bits by yours truly. I went out to the hazel wood, Because a fire was in my head, And cut and peeled a hazel wand, And hooked a berry to a thread; And when white moths were on the wing, And moth-like stars were flickering out, I dropped the berry in a stream And caught a little silver trout. When I had laid it on the floor I went to blow the fire a-flame, But something rustled on the floor, And someone called me by my name: It had become a glimmering girl With apple blossom in her hair Who called me by my name and ran And faded through the brightening air. Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun. The originals (reduced):--
  6. Hi guys, I've bought the new Canon M50 mirrorless but Canon's new .CR3 RAW file format isn't yet supported by your raw engine. Do you have any plans to add it soon or will I have to do a tedious workaround for the foreseeable future? It's the first time in the eight months since I've joined the Affinity revolution that I've missed Photoshop - Adobe RAW added it somewhere in April already.
  7. Hey CREATIVES ! Let's take you on the journey of how I transformed this normal fox image into something awesome. If you want to follow along with the tutorial, you can find the stocks I've used in the video description on YouTube. BUT FIRST: What are your pain points regarding photo compositing/manipulation? It would be very useful for me to know, so I know where to put my focus on to serve you better. I'm planning on making more tutorials and a complete course on this. Alright, here's the tutorial. I hope you learn something new! Cheers and stay creative ! Rens
  8. I got something really amazing for you in this Video. It's for Affinity Photo and it is the craziest thing i have ever done. Check it out. Black Friday Deal: https://gum.co/ARRKD Winter Wonderland Pack: https://gumroad.com/l/PSRIs/2uxotgl
  9. I use AD for slicing, text and circles and AP for sketching and painting for my 2BTshirt shop on Amazon. My goal is ultimately completely AP, but not there yet. Sometimes I need an assist from Painter 2019.
  10. I have an image of a wax seal. I need to paste into an Affinity Designer document with background. Having done a path using pen tool and Node Tool in Affinity Photo and clicked on mask in layers, I still have a seal in a white box. In Photoshop I saved a selection with path as an eps to get a cut out. How do I get rid of the background in my cut out. See attached my Affinity Photo file of the red seal. 1936_2019 Seal.afphoto
  11. Can someone help with changing the colour of the dust to white and the background in red to black on the picture in the circle on the left?
  12. Hello guys, I’m writing because even though I’ve uploaded the new version of Affinity Photo on my IPad (1.7.3), I’m still not able to upload brushes of any kind. What can I do to solve this problem?
  13. Captured and colorized an image of the nearly full moon, then used the mirror effect to convert the moon into a mandala.
  14. Are you confused by what Dodge & Burn do and how to actually use them? Today i will show you a much easier way to do the same thing, but better. 15. As I've mentioned in this post, Affinity Designer's brush performance isn't all that great, but what's surprising me is that I've found out the issue is not present in Affinity Photo at all! I've recently purchased Affinity Photo while it was on sale, and immediately the brush performance seemed better, but I've tested it and it's a very significant difference! For this I've created an identical document on both Designer and Photo: 2800 x 2800 pixels @ 300DPI CMYK colour space using the same brush on both apps using the same colour, just in case same zoom level only one pixel layer same iPad Pro 9.7" (2016) obviously both apps running simultaneously If you look at the attached video then no further explanation is needed, the brush paints smoothly and fast on Photo, while on Designer it's rendered slower and in blocks of pixels, as if it's struggling to keep up. I think that covers it, but let me know if you need or want more information. Thanks! RPReplay_Final1573724065.mp4
  16. Hi. I want to use this app for raw photo edit. But this app crashed many times. (Infact, I paid just now and this app crashed 10 times all i try) iPad mini 5's performance is capable to edit 20~40mb raw files with this app? My ipad's software version is 13.2. Thanks.
  17. I've noticed that when you resize an image in APhoto, the resized image has a 1-2 pixel 'halo' that's partially transparent. In Photoshop, contrariwise, resizing an image leaves the background layer without any such 'halo'. How can I get Affinity Photo to do a resize without that annoying 'halo' effect?
  18. Recently changed jobs: No longer a "bill collector" for a furniture store, but now an "Internet Manager" for a Toyota Dealership. That means I get to take pics of some really nice vehicles and get paid for it. It also means that, while I'm taking pics for the dealership, I get to take a few pics for my own enjoyment. As a former street racer, and a muscle car enthusiast from back in the 1970's, I'm attracted to street machines. Took this from a series on a Dodge Challenger SRT (also known as a "Hellcat"). I think I'm going to like this job!
  19. I’m interested on buying affinity photo but what bugs me is that both macOS and iOS has affinity photo if i buy the macOS can i use it too on iOS or vice versa?
  20. Hello, Affinity Photo consistently crashes when zooming in. (command +). Very frustrating. Cannot complete my projects. Anyone have similar issues? Help? Running v1.7.3 on macOS. Late 2015 iMac Mojave Thank you.
  21. Time Code Index in Sticky Comment on YT <3 - 3 hours of creating Affinity Photo Projects
  22. Here’s a silly throw-away experiment I put together while playing around. Everything except the background image was created using a mix of the three Affinity applications. Competition Time: First to say who is described in the “classified document” gets a Like.
  23. Hello, I would find it very useful if I was able to freely position the tool pop ups from for example the curve or hsl tool. Especially on the iPad Pro 11 inch the center placement of the tool often makes it harder to judge the impact adjustments have on the image while using the tool as it takes up a lot of screen real estate in the center. A great addition would be if something like being able to undock tool and drag it with two fingers to a different location in the workspace would be implemented. Thanks for considering, Johannes
