I don't dare to ask you this: Are the levels in question possibly locked?
Master levels can be locked and unlocked at any time - even without detachment. You can recognize it by the lock symbol on the right edge of a level.

    Hello,
    1/ Grid Calculator Pro Edition
I use this plugin for Adobe Indesign : Grid Calculator Pro Edition. I think it would be interesting to integrate the same kind of tool under Affinity Publisher.
This makes it possible to calculate the columns precisely or to have a baseline with the perfect rhythm. It is also possible to apply different rhythms depending on the size of the typography (because of course, in the same document there are different sizes of typography). Here are some explanatory videos : https://www.designersbookshop.com/grid-calculator-pro-edition-videos.html
By default Indesign does not offer all these features... at least it is much less pushed. I think such a tool would be a good thing for Affinity Publisher.
    2/ Typographic scale
I think it would also be useful to add a tool to calculate a typographic scale : https://www.layoutgridcalculator.com/typographic-scale
    3/ Guides manager
Moreover in the guides manager, when you want a grid, you need to define the number of columns. The worry is that it is impossible to know the exact width of a column and a total width of all columns and all gutters. We need to close the tool to manually measure the width and get information. I think it would be useful to specify the size (width) of a column that the tool generates... or even give the possibility to edit the width. Last, when adding lines, the space between the lines is exactly the same as the space between the columns. It would be interesting to have a different space between rows and columns... and also to be able to have and / or edit this value (the width of the gutters).
    What do you think ?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums
We are thinking of making an Affinity Publisher Workbook, yes. However it will be a while before it is available sorry.
In the meantime please look at the newly released tutorials

Back to the topic: I used Flip PDF for some projects. The software UX is not that great, but the HTML5 export is really good. It works even fine in mobile browsers.
It would be a dream if Affinity Publisher could export such a thing. ^^

QuarkXPress can do that, so it's obviously not an unreasonable request:

InDesign can do it too, but it looks like it creates one that requires Flash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_VCAiRcbdg

Actually right now I would live to have such a export function to share my photo book online without giving the PDF away.
Looking at existing solutions they are all rather expensive for a non-pro and have also a bad UI.
Is there any free / open source solution to convert a PDF or a bunch of JPGs to a HTML5 flip book that I can host on my own server?

After finnishing a book in Publisher it would be nice to have a feature where I can publish the book as a flip book on my web page. Compare how you can brows a book at Blurb an similar print on demand book sites.
Now I can make the book as a pdf, but that will not be as elegant to look at as a flip book.

Ermerlerd—I didn’t even know that was a thing! Today, you are my hero!

I will definitely be coming back in here more often!

You can export & import, but I like to copy the pixel layer & then go to Edit- Paste Special- & then select PNG.. Which pastes it in as an image & you have the full capabilities of the transparency tool.
Feel free to ask, that's how we all learn!

    Absolutely nothing.

Ooooh, and YES—it IS a pixel layer. Created a background w/ noise filter in photo & just opened it in designer to work. So I should export it as a jpeg or png & then import?

You guys are amazing! Thank you—I’m self-teaching at home, so excuse my ignorance, please?

What layer type do you have selected? Experience has taught me that you can't use that tool on a pixel layer.

I experience poor pen pressure performance with my Wacom Intuos Pro (everything is up-to-date), as well. Works perfectly in other programs (Inkscape, Gimp, etc).

SF1 reacted to Karvi in Affinity Designer - Cannot move nodes
I have opened a multi-layer SVG file.  Each layer has the layer name and then the word "Curve" or "Curves" in grey text after the name.  I am trying to move nodes within certain layers.I select the layer, the node tool and the node.  Dragging does nothing.  The nodes will not move.  I can add new nodes along a path, but they won't move either.  I can select a node and then get bezier handles to change curvature of a path, but I can't move the nodes themselves.  The layers are not locked.

I have used other programs that export to HTML but always end up righting it myself which I now prefer. However what I would like is an HTML Blueprint export which would have all widths, heights, spacing hex colors and stuff like that showing on and between objects so as I am writing the HTML and CSS I am not having to click each object and get its dimensions, colors, fonts and so forth. This would also greatly streamline handing a layout off to someone else like an intern who may not have Affinity. I know, thy should get it...trust me I will tell them.

Export as HTML based on styles will be extremely useful and will give an extended dimension to all the Affinity Suite.

Have to concur with this feature request.
I use InDesign to create simple tables which are then exported as html for use on websites. Very useful and very quick.
Would very much like to see this feature added to Publisher.

    Thanks.

    Hi Patrick,
Thanks for such a detailed response. And as I see, I am not alone !
I don't know Affinity a lot yet, I am juste discovering to see if it can suit for my projects. I should say I like it very much but hyperlink is very important for me.
I understand that it can be optional in Designer, but in my point of view it is absolutely essential for Publisher.
Thank you again, I will be looking forward to your update on this subject.
