  1. Affinity Publisher on OS X was originally supposed to be available for public beta in late 2015, but it now looks as though it may still not be ready for release in late 2016. Even if it is, the commercial version will clearly not be available until early 2017, and Affinity Publisher on Windows will come some time later.
  2. You're welcome, Modernus. :) Breaking multiple nodes at the same time has certainly been requested before, but I don't know whether it's on the road map yet,
  3. You're welcome, MaryLou! Just as an FYI, this is MattP's preferred method of sharing brush strokes in DrawPlus: instead of messing around with the relevant %AppData% files, you simply put a bunch of brush strokes in a document, save it and then copy 'n' paste to other documents.
  4. If you copy a stroke from one document, you can 'Paste Style' onto a stroke in another document. A bit clunky, perhaps, but better than nothing! :)
  5. On my Windows AD beta (which is all I have) I drilled down to Bloque WALLET > Mockup > *BONUS* ANDROID PHONE > effects and shadows > Shape 2 copy where I found 'Capa 308', which is the image with the BBVA Visa cards. 'Shape 2 copy' has a pale blue fill but no stroke, but whether I use the 'Paste Style' method or simply set the fill directly to "No Fill", the desired image doesn't display. The only way I can get it to show up in the workspace is to drag it up on the Layers panel until it's above 'Shape 2 copy'.
  6. If you want to join the two objects without moving any of the end nodes, you can do it as follows: 1. Select both objects with the Node Tool 2. Press the 'Join curves' button on the Action toolbar 3. Press the 'Close curve' button on the Action toolbar
  7. We can upload *.zip files, and probably also *.rar, but it would be good if 7-Zip archives (*.7z) were also accepted. They're often significantly smaller than standard zip archives.
  8. Thanks, Callum. Until I saw your other post about this a few minutes ago, I wasn't aware that the date had been pushed back yet again.
  9. Yes, I can see how a single modifier might appeal if there were only two options, but I'm so used to Alt/Opt meaning "always subtract" that I'm fine with the way it currently works (the only caveat being that Shift in Affinity Designer does something different from the expected "always add", and Ctrl doesn't seem to do anything at all in the Windows version).
  10. I think they're just incorporated into the preview image. Photoshop Elements reports them as missing. I can see from your screenshots that you managed to fix it, but when I followed your instructions I didn't get the expected result. I thought perhaps I had missed a step, but there aren't exactly a lot of steps!
  11. I'm accustomed to using the modifiers Shift to add to the selection and Alt (Option on a Mac?) to subtract from it, with both of these temporarily overriding whatever primary mode I'm working in. This is how Photoshop Elements (and presumably also the full Photoshop) does it, and Serif's very own PhotoPlus works the same way. I see that Shift is supposed to constrain some aspect of the selection tools in Affinity Designer, and presumably also in Affinity Photo, but I can't see any effect unless I'm using the Rectangular Marquee Tool (constrained to a square) or the Elliptical Marquee Tool (constrained to a circle). I think I would find it quite confusing if a modifier switched to the "opposite" mode. I suppose the opposite of 'New' would be 'Add', but I can't get my head around the outcome of switching to the opposite of 'Intersect'.
  12. If you mean that you want this instead of this you just need to drag the shapes inside the big rectangle in the Layers panel: If you drag an object while you have 'Snapping' turned on, green vertical lines and red horizontal lines will appear as you drag.
  13. Isn't that entirely dependent on how your pointing device is configured, Patrick? My trackball allows simultaneous right and left button presses to be interpreted as a middle click, but there are other options.
  14. If they're linked, why should it matter which one you change?
  15. As discussed here, there's room for improvement!
  16. You're hoping to have the Affinity Publisher Mac beta available later on this year, aren't you, Callum? With the end of the year less than five months away and the Affinity Photo Windows beta expected before then, the APh Win beta must be due to begin pretty soon after the current AD Win beta ends.
  17. It's not what I'm talking about either, JET, as explained below. To do step 4, take the value that you entered into the S field at step 2, negate it and enter the negated value in the R field; for example, if the S field is set to -10.5° then you would enter 10.5° in the R field as well. I agree with you, BTW, that skewing leftward by a positive value and rightward by a negative value feels backward. If there is some obscure option for entering a vertical shear value directly via the S field, then I'm missing it too!
  18. I'm not an artist, and as I'm on Windows I only have the Pixel Persona in Affinity Designer to play with, but I wouldn't call the options limited!
  19. Ctrl-dragging to create a copy is standard Windows functionality (e.g. Ctrl-dragging a file in an Explorer window). The Alt key temporarily disables snapping in Affinity Designer, so it's useful to have an alternative modifier which keeps snapping enabled.
  20. As a side note, changing the larger dimension works correctly. It's only when you reduce the smaller dimension that the other dimension is reduced accordingly; if you increase the smaller dimension, the other dimension is unchanged. The orientation is swapped in both of the latter cases.
  21. I thought the same at first, because clicking on one of the 'released' objects on the Layers panel selected the others at the same time, but then I discovered that you can click on the thumbnail to select an individual component of the mask. This isn't a complete solution, unfortunately, because you can't select multiple components: Shift-clicking disables the clicked object, and Ctrl-clicking creates a selection.
  22. Although there is no dropdown button, the 'Release Compound' command is enabled on the Layer menu.
