  1. Lazy Nezumi Pro works fine in Affinity Designer. I used it to draw this. You may not see a flashing red rectangle when you hook the AD window (I didn't) but you should see the message 'Window hooked!' in the LNP status bar. As far as I know, LNP is only available for Windows.
  2. The Mac beta of Affinity Publisher isn't due until late this year, or maybe even early next year. As I understand it, we won't see the Windows beta version of the product until after the Mac retail version is released.
  3. I think AD may be failing to make the clear distinction that PP makes between replacement and substitution.
  4. PagePlus reports that the Light and Extra Bold fonts in my test file are embedded in the PDF, but it wants to substitute Arial for Gill Sans Regular. According to my PDF viewer, all three fonts are available as embedded subsets, but one of the objects is CID-keyed (which PP has never handled properly).
  5. It's far from obvious to me how the program chooses its suggested replacements. I don't have any Gill Sans fonts installed here, so when I open a PDF containing fonts from that family, AD wants to replace GillSansDisplay-ExtraBold with Encorpada Pro ExtraBold, GillSans-Light with Accent SF Regular, and GillSans with Sniglet Regular. The suggested fonts are entries on dropdown lists, so you can simply choose whatever other entries you prefer.
  6. You can draw a perfectly horizontal or vertical line with the Pen Tool in 'Line Mode', and having created a copy of that line at the required distance from the original you can 'power duplicate' to create more copies which will automatically be spaced at the same regular intervals. Is there anything else you need to be able to do in order to construct your grids?
  7. Broken link. Try here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=56d_M4__9CQ
  8. That one is here (960 × 600): https://d1x0u4ahgq5hzt.cloudfront.net/teaser-affinity-serif-com/blog-uploads/production/2016/03/affinity-on-windows.jpg If you want more of the background, see this version (1280 × 800): https://cdn.affinity.serif.com/img/home/affinity-windows-010320161137--medium.jpg
  9. The Shape Builder Tool is merely a convenient alternative to using a sequence of the standard Boolean operations. I don't know of a way to do any but the simplest of blend operations manually.
  10. In AD on Windows, if I try to replace Ctrl+X with Shift+Delete, I get one of two useless outcomes. If I press and hold Delete first, nothing happens; if I press and hold Shift first, I see 'Shift+' in the box but my Delete keypress is ignored. In both cases, the box goes back to displaying 'Ctrl+X' when I release the keys. Shift+Insert can be assigned as a shortcut, the only problem being (as I mentioned in my previous post) that it replaces the default Ctrl+V shortcut instead of supplementing it.
  11. Many feature requests are applicable to more than one app. If you have a request which is specific to a particular app, you can (and should!) tag the thread accordingly.
  12. Serif have made it quite clear that they have no plans to add a web development app to the Affinity suite.
  13. Same for me and you have a lot to do, to top your amount of posts in the old Serif forum :) LOL. I'm not even going to try! As you may have noticed, MEB has already made more than ten thousand posts here, and I don't think anyone is going to catch up quickly (if at all).
  14. It sounds as though you're seeing a variant of the Document Setup bug discussed here.
  15. Thanks, Dave. That makes sense, once you know about it! :P
  16. Since you're changing colours, I guess you're using Affinity Designer. But which version, and on what platform?
  17. Another thing you can't do is define alternative keyboard shortcuts without replacing the original ones. For example, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V are standard Windows shortcuts for cut and paste, but Shift+Delete and Shift+Insert are also standard Windows shortcuts for the same functions. Affinity's shortcut customization doesn't allow for this.
  18. Does this option involve a performance hit? Having it turned off by default makes it look as though AD cannot handle PSD text properly.
  19. On the contrary, I'm pleased to be reacquainted. :) MEB's link works fine for me in Firefox. Maybe your FF installation doesn't like MOV files.
  20. Affinity Publisher on OS X was originally supposed to be available for public beta in late 2015, but it now looks as though it may still not be ready for release in late 2016. Even if it is, the commercial version will clearly not be available until early 2017, and Affinity Publisher on Windows will come some time later.
