DM1 reacted to MEB in App crashes
    Hi @DM1,
Well spotted. The report doesn't include it and since there's still no build available for QA I don't know if the fix does cover the reset issue. I'm updating the report and placing a note to be sure this will be tested by QA as soon as we have a build available. Thanks for raising it up.

Thanks for the response Walter. Glad you got it sorted but hopefully mods will check your file as crashing shouldn’t occur with filler text either.

It was totally my fault. I’d added a few images that I forgot were huge files so someone kindly removed them for me. I’ve learnt my lesson that’s for sure.

DM1 reacted to paolo.limoncelli in How do I get a stroke to close on a circle with a textured image brush that I made on Affinity Designer iPad?
    Hi!
You need to make a seamless pattern to make it close perfectly.

No need to deal with open/closed paths.
You could use Symbols in AD or Pattern Layer in AP, but you need to carefully design the geometry of your source.

Also I suggest to clip your symbol inside a rectangle/square to allow pixel perfect positioning.

Once you did this, you can remove the bounding rectangle from symbol and make things overlap, since now you have a "positioning reference"

Be careful not to move the group, but only inside elements, and you can achieve better results

    Hope this helps!
    Paolo

DM1 got a reaction from Affinity Rat in Files not saved, now what, different behavior APho1 and APho2
Hi Affinity rat, response is a little late, sorry. There was an issue in V2 sometimes not auto updating the sandbox. In latest release the Save/Save a Copy has been removed (temporarily?) and rename has been removed from Home Screen. Returning to Home Screen should now reliably update sandbox but I agree wholeheartedl, ALWAYS manually save to be sure your edits are captured and stored safely.🙂

DM1 got a reaction from Affinity Rat in Ipad storage mismanagement
Hi Affinity Rat, I’ve seen this issue reported many times. In some instance devices showed more gb stored than was even available on the iPad. Clearly some sort of miscalculation or files not clearing there caches properly. Developers are aware of these issues but I suspect it’s more an iOS issue.

Hi Omrane, I had had issues with imported text editing and app closing too. It seems to happen more when the font is missing. I found pasting into Pages, recopying and pasting into Publisher stopped the crashes. Not great but maybe worth a try until devs fix it. Does it crash if using finger rather than pencil?
Mods here would probably ask for details of iPad type, iOS version, Pencil version too (the more info the better).

Hi Dawny70, apologies for late reply. Developers are aware of an issue preventing the loading of assets/brushes in certain instances. The workaround is to restart the app and as soon as the splash screen appears tap twice on the screen with one finger. This will open a reset screen. Select the assets/brushes as required and tap ok to restart the app. This fixes the issue (till the next time 🙂).

I think this is the double tap on flash screen and reset brushes issue.

That’s true. Perhaps the requirement to tap on menu should be considered a “workaround” then.🙂

I didn’t see any tap to select in drop-down menu. You have to tap the desired blend. It is not enough to simply scroll.

DM1 got a reaction from Swilk in [SOLVED - Thanks DM1] Photo V2 iPad (where’s brush opacity? what’s accumulation?) *images inside*
Some brush control have a dot this signifies multi function control. Tap either side next to control icon. Accumulation effect opacity. Like thick coat/thin coat. The thinner the coat the less coverage of underlying colours. Opacity control acts on accumulation setting to control its opacity (see through). See example.
1 and 2 are different Accumation settings. 2 and 3 is accumulation setting on 2 made less opaque with opaque adjustment.

This was fixed in last update. Scroll to locate desired blend and tap blend to select. You must tap desired option in drop down menu.🙂

I'd tried one reset, but another one did the trick! I was confused because I also use the Designer app and wasn't having the same issue. Either way, it's resolved now. Thanks!

Good point Walt. It seems the OP has reversed the order of attachments. I,e, “and whenever I press on it it opens the second screenshot that I’ve attached.”
The second screenshot actually shows two files.

It would appear to be a corrupted project folder or corrupted sandboxed file. It would be interesting to see what happened if another file was added to the project folder. If that other file was able to be opened then I would lean toward the first file being corrupted in sandbox.

Yes it available in Project folder to allow changing folder name. So, definitely a Folder. It contains 2 files. Each file has a 3 bar menu too. These allow you to save the file (externally). Files in Project folders are not “saved files” unless you have physically tapped the Save option.
Try Saving the files to an external folder. You should always do this as the internal Home Screen (live Docs/projects) screen was only intended for temporary storage while working on a file, not as a file management area.
To delete a Project folder you will first need to delete or move any file inside the folder. Deleting is achieved by tapping the x icon on the top left of the file/folder icon. Deleting internal files will not delete the version saved externally, so you can always reopen the file again.
Deleting the app shouldn’t be necessary but keep in mind that deleting the app deletes the local app folder and any content you may have saved there.

    Hi @EsseEffe,
It’s still a bug in 2.0.3; it’s still under investigation according to Serif, but as far as I can tell the standalone apps are not affected, only the StudioLink. You can add to the topic bellow if you have new info and you wish to.
    Regards.

Perfectly understandable but the version 2 apps do not replace the version 1 apps, they install alongside them.
