Surely they will add the ability to have single pages that will butt up to each other, it's such an easy way to work for doing book covers, multifold leaflets, even manually paginating a document which is the usual request from cd manufacturers for a cd booklets - the guides workaround just isn't flexible enough, what happens if a client changes the weight of the paper stock for a book? it's just a couple of clicks away to widen the spine, whereas the single page guide method means moving all the items on the page

Just noticed that I started the trial within 3 days decided to buy it and the price has gone up.  Will the price of both products at the beginning of the trial be afforded to me?

What's happened to the pricing of Affinity Photo?

The normal price has been $49.99 or £39.99.  Today it is $49.99 or £48.99.  Last I checked, Serif is a UK company right?

3Dshark got a reaction from Pixlers in Font scaling by single units
Firstly, thank you again for Affiinty Designer. I'm really loving designing in it and how the features are growing!

One thing which I would find really useful would be able to increase fonts by a single unit. I know that you can already use the up and down arrow keys for that, however you have to click out of the box for the new size to take effect.

So, either please can the font scale as the units increase / decrease, in the same was as it does with the dropdown or can we have little up and down clickers next to the dropdown selector.

    Thanks.

And, yes I created the very rough mockup in AD :D

I think you should be able to use function keys with no modifiers in Affinity only if you have the "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard functions keys" item checked in System Preferences > Keyboards > Keyboard tab ... but even that doesn't seem to be working as it should on my Mac running El Capitan 10.11.6.

What happens for me is with that option checked I can add a function key with no modifier to the Affinity preference, but it just beeps like it does for you. Without the option checked, I can't even add a function key with no modifier to the Affinity preference, except for F5 & F6, which have no "special feature" associated with them.

    Hi 3Dshark,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Expand the masked image layer in the Layers panel (make sure the Move Tool is selected) then check the Lock Children button in the context toolbar. You should now be able to scale/reposition the original image without affecting the mask. Same for raster based masks.

I may be doing something wrong, but consistent shift scaling would be good.

At the moment when I'm scaling vector objects holding down shift scales up/down in proportion, whereas scaling an image has the complete opposite actions (it scales automatically in proportion and when you use shift it's a free scale)

3Dshark got a reaction from macmello in Icons please
I know it's a small request, but it'd be really useful (and liven up my desktop) if the .afphoto and .afdesign documents had a generic icon. I (like a lot of other designers I know) have the icon preview turned off so I can quickly see what the document type is. The standard white one is rather dull, considering how great everything else is!

    Cheers  :)

Honestly, Andy, I can't pretend to speak for the rest of the people who are now Affinity users...but, for one, find the above statement refreshing in that you and Serif have enough integrity to make the aforementioned statement and apologize. I've been around long enough to remember the '90's and how a certain Adobe rival in layout and publishing used to respond to their user base with boldly unapologetic chants of "just buy the next version" when questioned for workarounds and/or troubleshooting techniques. The big red "A" got into it with Apple when they released CS5/5.5 and it crashed on Lion and Mountain Lion. They ultimately offered fixes but nobody actually apologized.

Redmond gets away with it all of the time.

I'd put up my input about the raw files from my cameras to help you guys build a better product, not to browbeat you. It's. A. BETA. Last time I looked, that is the purpose of beta testing. To paraphrase Henry Cabot Henhouse III, we knew the job was dangerous when we took it. We're just grateful that you guys came out with Designer and Photo (excuse me, a little drool spilled out of the corner of my mouth in anticipation of Publisher) when we needed you to...right after the big red "A" abandoned us and decided to put a gun to our heads in the name of corporate greed.

    Wow. You apologized.

The mere fact of your willingness to apologize makes me realize one thing...as long as you guys are making the software, I'll be buying/supporting/using it and urging as many others to take a look at your offerings as much as possible. There would be only one thing we would ask in return.

Never sell to anyone who will not maintain the integrity you have shown us today. And ESPECIALLY NOT to them. And if you have to ask who "they" are, I've mentioned them at least three times in this posting.

"Keep doing it to it." My cameras and I are right here waiting with $50.00.

Tim Cook should be proud. Right now, the Affinity brand is one of the only things keeping me from going completely over to the dark side.

Thank YOU wholeheartedly for your time and immense effort. Now, where'd I leave that 2006 MacBook Pro...
