  1. I assume it should resemble the Bavarian banner of arms and can be found everywhere at Oktoberfest times. But it really should be a diamond pattern instead of a check design, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Bavaria. Some of the locals are really picky about that and this would be the first and only thing they notice...
  2. Why wasting time with complex astrological calculations, if you can read the same future from a simple cup of tea
  3. In the past I used Aperture extensively to order my photos, develop the raws, do the basic stuff - and create my photobooks. Unfortunately it is discontined by Apple for a longer time now, and whatever they would like us to believe, Fotos is no adequate replacement. I also have Affinity Photos, Designer and Publisher in use, so why not use it for photobooks as well. Unfortunately I still didn't find templates, so I decided to create my own one. It's heavily inspired by my favorite design from Aperture. The measures are designed to fit SaalDigital 28x19 book prints. SaalDigital starts with a left page, which is predefined. They also want to have full spreads as single PDF pages in export - APub can do, fantastic. Attached the template and an example PDF Usage: create as much empty pages as you want assign a the desired master design to the page. drag & drop the pictures write the texts Some points I'm not happy so far though: You can assign a master page spread also to single pages. That's cool and it will also select always the right page design (left/right), when changing the order. Though the content is not moved, it will stay on its side's page. Any idea how to solve it? If you assign i.e. master page A to a single left page and afterwards master page B to the right page of the same spread, you still have all layers of B on the left page. And since it was assigned later, it gets prio when applying i.e. pictures via drag & drop. That's a bit unfortunate. I always get a lot of warnings when exporting. Any idea on how to solve/avoid them? I extended the picture frames and objects into the bleed to prevent white edges to to unclean cuts. Now it seems this bleed is not taken into account for the checks, when master pages are applied. So you get all the times a warning message which asks you to reformat. You can confirm or decline, the result's the same. Any idea on how to prevent this? 4. You mean something like creating an arched path and placing text along it? So something like this?
  5. Cloners Hey, this cloners feature is the one I missed the most, especially the along the path cloner. Started already to write some short user stories by myself to add it as feature request. This would ease some techniques a lot where you have to struggle now with the Power Duplicate feature (it's better than simple Copy&Paste plus moving objects, but still a bigger step away from being really "powerful"). Plus this feature has big potential for further enhancements. You could even start with a small subset of the functionality you describe to give a big benefit to the user and then add the rest step by step. Plus there are already objects and mechanisms you can use for this. Symbols objects appears to have been made for this. So I would fully support this feature request. Layers IMHO this is more a personal style question. In AD you dont have to have any layers at all, just leave them and you have your pure object view. I use layers to group objects and like the small thumbs. Easy the get the right layer then, I would really miss it, if it's gone...
  6. AFAIK point 30 is already possible. You might check layer -> <the point above "rasterize..."> (I don't know the English name, I have a German language version. Should be something like "Expand contour")
  7. Came across Affinity Designer a week ago in an online article (heise.de, German media). It looked very interesting, but I'm not a professional in art, just an ambitious amateur. The price was just below the better-have-second-thought limit, so I just pressed the button ;) And what should I say, I'm completely convinced that it was worth it! The app is powerful, intuitive and really easy to use. Keep up the good work! I finished now the first vector drawing I ever did and I'm almost satisfied with the result. Base was a pencil sketch, the drawing is done completely with shapes and curves - no pixel adjustments needed. The piece is the starting point for bigger personal project I have in mind for a longer time - and maybe I will finish it now that I have the tools ;). I missed there a tool to place a shape or curve along a path. This would've gave much more flexibility when doing the strokes than the power copy. Didn't found it in the Feature Request Index nor on the Feature Roadmap. Is it already there and I just missed it in the app or is not recognized as an "official" Feature Request so far?
