I saw a story about terraforming another planet for humans to live on. It was a very interesting story, but I think it is not possible in the near future. Because there are too many variables and humans are too weak. This time, I tried to express that kind of thinking.

After being made redundant last year and losing my access to a CC subscription I decided to switch to Affinity Photo and Designer for my personal work. I got to work in Designer immediately using it to put together a new CV & Portfolio which meant I was then employed as soon as my gardening leave ended. The one off payment made much more sense as for personal work as there may be weeks at a time when I don't have the need for image manipulation as I'll still be working on the 3D side of any project.
I've found the switch very easy and have no plans to go back to Adobe for personal work even though I now have CC access again via my new job.
This was my entry for the Automotive CGI Facebook group monthly competition where I tried to focus on a low key lighting setup. The Carrera & Porsche vinyl decals were created in Affinity Designer and all of the post production was finished in Affinity Photo. The base render was achieved in 3DS Max 2023 & Corona 11. I've included screenshots of the raw render and the layer stack so please feel free to critique.

That makes sense to me in terms of the issue itself because exporting the file using the PDF (flatten) preset will also export the file without issue. The file will export to all raster-based file formats, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and so on...
However, It won't export to any vector formats, PDF, SVG, EPS etc...

You could try the Powershell method of installation, which is outlined in this post. But I would just download the more standard MSI installer.  They can be downloaded from this page, just scroll the page down and you'll some text that says 'Looking for Windows MSI installers?'.  Once you've downloaded those, you should find they install straight away.

Thank you, that would help. There was definitely only 1 page showing or printing, but I seem to have tweaked something along the way that has worked because it's ok now. I have no idea what I did and it only took 2 days....🥴

Are you sure the 2nd artboard hasn't been exported in the PDF as the 2nd page?  When i try this, i get a PDF with 2 pages, 1 for each artboard.
If you are trying to get both artboards side by side into a PDF, then switch to the Export Persona and create a Slice that covers both artboards and export from there as PDF and you'll have a PDF with both artboards side by side.  This page in the help file covers using the Export Persona

It does feel like a bug to me because when you run the Data Merge, none of the Merged data is aligned correctly...

To confirm, I am a moderator of the Affinity Forums - however I'm not a Developer or manager of the Affinity apps, therefore this decision is not mine to make.
I can only provide you with the information we are provided with internally, which I will do my best to summarise below:
As far as I understand, we have no current plans for a Linux version, and no current intention for this to change.
We unfortunately cannot comment on your 'what if' scenarios, as not only would this be purely speculative, any such major shifts in the market would likely require a large overhaul of many software companies, including Affinity - and this isn't something that I believe any company would actively plan for or consider, based on the previous market trends.
I am not aware of any current 'goal' or 'criteria' to achieve before the above changes. 
We are currently interested in continuing to improve and update the Affinity apps across Windows, macOS and iPadOS and are not, at this time, looking to develop for the Linux market.

As you may have heard before, "You never know what tomorrow brings" and similar to your hypothetical questions in your original post, no one can ever be truly certain of the future and how the ever changing landscape of software development may move our current ideas.

I believe there is but there's no documented list at this stage.  I'll see if I can get one put together.
This would be an ideal Feature request, as this filter is currently working as designed and i can't see a change here causing issues for anyone else.

Hi Maxine. I think you might be referring to a different issue. This one is just cosmetic, but there is a way to accidentally create a frame or shape on the master page when you're not actually editing the master page. Here's one way it can happen. I agree it's frustrating but if you understand how it happens it's easier to avoid.
 

@stokerg I wish I'd taken a screenshot of it because I can't reproduce it now so it's more complex than I thought. I went through all the notes in the book and couldn't identify which one it might have been, but I think I've found the cause even if I can't reproduce the issue in the same way.
Look at how Publisher hyphenates the word "infant" in test1.afpub (first screenshot). The min suffix is 2 and it's breaking at 1 so I assume the hyphenation code might be considering the period, quotation mark, and reference as part of the word length. You'd have to increase Min Suffix to 7 to stop it from breaking this way, and that makes sense because t."123 is 6 characters.
Likewise, if you reduce the note starting number from 123 to 1, it would break this way until you increase min suffix to 5 because t."1 is 4 characters.
In test2.afpub (second screenshot), the same problem will occur without using quotation marks and min suffix set to 3.
I assume this is the same bug as I was reporting, but I can't find a word that will break at the period instead of before it.

I've replicated this in 2.4 and the behaviour is different to 2.3.1, so I've logged this with the Developers

I was going to say that I am fairly new to the Affinity Suite but thinking back, I guess that I started in 2019. I have used all three extensively since I found them. I am another one who moved away from Adobe after many years, which I started when it was creative suite 3 and I upgraded and subscribed all the way along.
I use Affinity just for fun now, since I have retired, but I still find much joy in being creative. I typically use Affinity to create images and whatnot for use in my 3D projects, as image wraps, and the like. I'll share two projects that share some assets.
The first is my sardine can. I created this after I spent time drawing a clip art fish as a challenge to myself. I did borrow two assets from Pixaby - the tomatoes and the sailing ship.
The second is my three fishes pub sign, also created in Affinity Designer.
I sure am glad that I happened across the Affinity products.
BTW, I am just posting to share my work and sort of introduce myself. I am not looking for critiques.
