    Hi Felonius, Unfortunately this is not currently possible on either the Windows or Mac version, however I do personally think it is an extremely useful addition. I would suggest you head on over to the Feature Requests section of the forum and post a thread requesting it in there.

    Hi John. Glad you're enjoying the application! Unfortunately this is a font that is supplied with Mac OS X. Therefore we do not install it with Affinity Hi Grey_Master, Would you be able to attach the PDF that is crashing when trying to open with all pages please. What file type doesn't appear in the Open dialog?

    Hi Bill, I've just been forwarded your email - these aren't monitored by us so please reply on the forum post, as opposed to replying to the automated email you get sent. I've attached your screenshot to the post above to aid anyone else. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unfortunately the onboard graphics chipset you are using only supports the DirectX 9 feature set, Affinity requires DirectX 10 features to run. DirectX 10 compatible graphics cards can be purchased relatively cheaply - especially as you say you do not use your PC for gaming. I would advise finding a local computer shop and having a chat with them - they should be able to give you some advice into what you may need. Hope that helps somewhat!

    Hi Actine, This isn't a bug per se. I believe you currently have the View mode set to Pixels (View > View Mode), whilst in this mode Affinity will display your document as it would if it was a raster document. To help keep the smooth edges whilst in raster it will blend them (making them semi transparent). This means that if you have multiple objects occupying the same area it is placing two lots of semi transparent pixels on top of each other darkening the result. Turning off all View Modes will display the objects as native vector objects. Does this make sense?

    Hi Hansjörg I've been able to open a RWL file from a Leica V-Lux (Typ 114) - however the file type is not listed, so I had to first do a *.rwl wildcard search. If you do this you should be able to see your file and open it. (I used the RAW samples from here). If you find that this still doesn't work for you please attach a RWL that is failing and I will look into it. In the meantime I will report the RWL format being missing from the list of file formats. Are you able to attach (or PM a link) to the DNG file that is crashing for you please? Thanks.

    Hi Mindhunter - I agree, this has already been reported and is with the developers! - I cannot reproduce this issue. Pasting text will always paste it as a Frame Text object allowing me to double click it to edit it. How are you pasting the text? - If you have a text object you can double click it with the Move Tool selected to switch to the corresponding Text Tool and edit the text, otherwise you can select the Frame/Artistic Text Tool to edit your text. - You can hold down Ctrl to crop both sides at once. This can also be used with other objects when you want to resize both sides.

    Hi David, With the Public Beta there will be a new build hopefully every week and this will posted in a topic similar to this. Installing it will automatically overwrite the previous build update it to the latest. With regards to reporting issues as it is a public beta with a large amount of users we do not have a publicly accessible database. So we do ask you to start a new thread for any issues you encounter. Don't worry too much about creating a thread about something that has already been reported, if you've found an issue that has already been reported we will generally let you know (or other users will). Unfortunately we aren't able to offer free versions of the software to public beta testers - however the software is sold at a very reasonable price and considerably cheaper than the Plus range of software.     I should also state that any 1.4.2 MAS files that have been opened and saved in 1.5 (Windows or Mac) WILL NOT re-open in 1.4.2 MAS. So if you do want to try your files inside 1.5 I suggest you work from a copy of your original file.

    Thanks for that Pesala, I've tried your keyboard and found for me that pretty much all Dead Keys were failing. The only ones that I could get to work was Ctrl+Alt+6 to display the hachek (but this then failed after 5-6 times). Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce the crash you were getting but hopefully when this gets fixed it will also stop the crashing. I also noticed that symbols from ANSI code pages were also failing so using Alt+169 didn't display as ©. I've also reported this to the developers.

    That's great to to hear! However we do still need to fix the issue that was causing it. Would you be able to post the location where you was originally running the EXE from when it was failing? Thanks!

    Hi Zimny, Can you post the location of where you installed the software to please? If the path contains any special/accented characters Affinity will fail to start in the way you are describing.

    Regarding the snapping if you hold down Shift whilst rotating it will snap to 15degree increments. If you look at the bottom you will see many hints regarding what keyboard modifiers do for each object.

    Hi Victoryus, Where did you save the EXE too? If possible could you try running it from your desktop or failing that from the root of your C:\ Drive.

    Hi Arek, Can you give me the install location that you installed Affinity into please? There is currently a known issue whereby installing to a folder containing special/accented characters will cause the issue you are seeing.

    Once you've selected the preset you can expand the slice name and it will show which sizes will get exported. You should see both a 1x and 2x export listed if using the Retina PNG-24 preset. Click the X to the left of 1x and it will remove that size from the export leaving you with just the 2x. See attached screenshot.

    Hi Dorkboy, I've tried scanning using our Canon CanoScan LiDE 210. I was able to scan successfully at both 300 and 600 DPI using 'Kind: Black and White' and 'Greys: 256 Greys'. Does your scanner use the Apple scanning software or does it use it's own? What options do you have set when you scan?

    Hi Chiunhauyou, It should be the layer order that affects what Artboard is published first. However the order is from the bottom upwards. So the first page on the PDF will be the Artboard at the bottom of the Layers stack and the last page will be the one at the top of the Layers stack.

    It's not a brush, it is the Rounded Rectangle tool - I used it to fill and match the shape of the lightened area. I then used the Gaussian Blur live filter to blur the rectangle to blend the edges into a nice transition to the original picture. You should be able to open the afphoto file attached to my first post and see how it was done. :)
