I would think the Find and Replace will still work, use the Paragraph Styles option for each. You need to have nothing in the actual text area of the find and replace.

There are two types of text frames Art Text and Frame Text. The Art text needs to have something typed after you click on the 'page' otherwise it is dimensionless. The Frame text has no outline by default, to move it about and resize (or rescale) it you need to use the Move tool, the black arrowhead.

This is one of the biggest disappointments with this release. It seems so obvious that it is a bug and it needs to be fixed. On Mac and complaining about this and the inability to tab between fields for about a year and a half or more now.

I recall floppies still being a thing back in the 90s. The iMac didn't come out until 98 which effectively killed the 14 or 17 floppies for installation of some software I had.

This is an outlier in the software world. If my memory serves me correctly there was one charge once for an upgrade, but that may have been from 7 to X. Final Cut and Motion are two pieces of software I have used for years and years with no upgrade charge. Consider though how much Apple makes from its phones, they are awash in cash.

No, not INDD files. IDML files will open, but there are some things that InDesign does that don't transfer over 100%. Other things are 'different'.

Seeing as how Apple no longer supports my MacBook's hardware for its newer OSes I doubt that Serif Affinity will either. Could be wrong, but at some point all older software versions get orphaned.

You will need to have the text Caret in the paragraph, or have all the Paragraphs selected. Now the Character panel is the one you want, not the Paragraph panel. there is a spot in the lower left of the top section. It is the part with 13pt in it. If you are in Designer or Publisher you can use Text Styles and have this control in the Paragraph Styles.

Most likely not. Also they may stop working altogether with a Major Operating System update. The current OSes from Microsoft and Apple allow them to work but eventually (years?) you'll get a new OS and they will stop launching. Just a fact of computer life.

Really neat trick. But I think this might be a bug. Seems to me to be utterly unintuitive.

In all fairness it is not pirx124's method but the original person's method who laid out the first part. And way, way back in the day everything was done with manual page numbering. I shudder remembering my time laying out newspapers on flats and getting the page numbers right.

Why not make a single Master/Parent Page for all the Chapters? Is each chapter really that different in its structure? Regardless, you may have to reapply the Master/Parent pages to the selected pages. A lot of work. One thing I do is name each and every element on the Master/Parent pages with descriptive terms and reuse those names on all Master/parent pages which use the same elements. EG: I will have the main text frame on all the Master/Parent pages named either Left Text or Right Text. The frame for the Page Numbers will be named Left Page Number and Right Page Number. Picture frames and graphic elements will be named as well. This naming allows me to apply a different Master/Parent page and the flowing text will be assisted in flowing into the proper frames, the frames can be different sizes on the different pages but it will all flow nicely.
