The Pixel Persona is missing the Live Filters icon. Will it be added so these pixel specific filters can be accessed the same way as it's done in Photo?

This update is just a small improvement. Patterns are still the big Achilles heel of affinity.  Please include vector patterns or at least the ability to add them to the palette in bitmap format. This is the only reason why I keep using illustrator. Affinity vs Illustrator:

Very good Affinity, I like the idea of not creating new panels like adobe and using the same ones we know. I wish it could be filled with vector symbols. With that we would have solved the vector patterns. It would be an amazing dream.

Vector warp that could warp anything inside, vector or image would be awesome.
However, on the topic of bringing over live filters. I use them all the time from photo. But not in pixel persona. What would be really great is if I could add any of the live filters to my toolbar in designer so I don't have to jump into photo and then jump back.

vector patterns with symbols, that would be great. It would attract more users such as fashion designers. very useful also for any type of design.

To be honest, even though I could also make use of an even more advanced warp tool, I would rather see resources being divested in more pressing features, such as vector patterns, layer appearances or explicit group/ symbol editing. The workarounds for those are more costly to me. If the live filters work as they are supposed to, I would say it's good enough for now.

By the way, Is it possible to apply the Vector Warp that contains pixel layers inside?
Unfortunately, the current Vector warp doesn't move or change the pixels inside.

I'll attach an example, this definitely would make the Vector warp more consistent to work with Paintings.

In V2 we added the new feature of being able to drag an image file, asset or stock item directly into a selected object's fill colour in the context toolbar to quickly create a bitmap fill. This could be slightly fiddly, so as has been suggested by a number of customers we have also now made it so you can drag and drop a bitmap texture onto either the colour or swatch panel too.
 

Thank you for your feedback. The reason why the boolean operations don't work with some fonts is irrelevant to me as a designer. I need a working software to be able to work with it. In Affinity Designer 1.06, the Boolean operations with this letter S work perfectly. Therefore, your reasoning is incomprehensible to me. Just programme Affinity Designer 2.03 as Affinity Designer 1.06.

@BenIn addition, I have reported here several times that the export quality of PNG and JPG is not very good, no matter which settings you choose. Possibly it is also due to this large zoom? Unfortunately, the professional export quality as in Photoshop is not achieved. That is a problem. Perhaps antialiasing settings should be improved so that typography can be exported in awan-free quality.

Thanks for your reply. I created the gradient in Modo but the rendering preserved the transparency so when I opened it in Affinity Designer 1, it looked good. Re. your question: I dragged the file onto Affinity Designer 2 on PC - in other words I 'opened' the file and the issue was present only when 'opening' not 'placing' the bitmap.
I previously used the workaround with 'placing' it into a document which is great after all - thanks for mentioning it as well! Of course it is the quickest solution so far! 
I played with the alpha channel in Affinity Photo but it is a bit tricky! Anyway it would be great to have the funcionality from Affinity Designer 1 brought back in Affinity Designer 2!

Hi! I'm loving AD v2, and thank you very much for making such a great software.
I'm using AD v2.03 on Windows 11. Everything's up-to-date.
I'm trying to use the Contour Tool on Text and use the Warp -> Arc-Horizontal Tool. Whenever I attempt to use this (trying to make multiple border outlines of text) the Contour becomes distorted downwards. I've tried converting the text to curves, curves + grouped, making the contours before or after the warp, and I get the same results. I have attached a .png showing original text, text w/contour, and text with contour and Arc-Horizontal.
Expected behavior: Text with contour to follow warp w/out distortions and be able to adjust the curve of the arc w/out additional distortions.

XARA is not a professional design software. Compare with Adobe illustrator CC or CorelDraw.
And if you are not a professional designer with a degree and work experience, but a hobby user, discussion makes no sense because you have different requirements.

I have never had this issue in V1.
Damn, WARP is quite a lot slower on zooming, because my laptop dates from the time prior to Nvidia Optimus (I believe it was), so I don't have the option to switch between integrated graphics and my GPU. This doesn't seem to be a long-term solution. @Pauls is the team working on a patch to help mediate the freezing?
E: This feels as slow as using Adobe software, I'd rather take the crashes, it's unworkable.

This shows that although the problem is known and has been discussed several times, Affinity Team is not taking care of it. That's a pity.

export quality is bad in Designer and Publisher if you compare it to photoshop or illustrator. And the weight much higher than in those applications. Solution: I have to export it as pdf for printing and import it with Illustrator and export to png. Also a screenshot has more quality than the export. Please, affinity, can you improve this? I also think it is urgent.
I do not think it is very accurate to say that we use another application. Sooner or later all users will have the same problem. 

I like using Affinity Designer. It's a very good app. However, export quality and antialiasing can be improved.

This problem also existed in Affinity Designer 1. Nothing has been improved in terms of export quality in Affinity Designer 2.03. The outlines of the exported font are pixelated and not smooth enough to use for professional client presentation.
Download this example and look at 100% magnification. For example, at 8, contours are pixelated, as well as many other round letters.

How do I get all the styles available in V1 into V2?
V2 has only a few, while V1 has many more.

The same thing happens to me V2 is not intuitive. For example, the export person will not be used. In V1 I use it perfectly. Another example is all the unnecessary information in the layers panel that makes you dizzy, in v1 the layers panel was perfect and very minimalist, don't make me think. Layer styles have disappeared, there are only a few. Double clicking on the magnifying zoom no longer puts it at 100%. Cannot be undone with Ctrl + Z as standard, 5 years using the shortcut and now you have to set it by hand. Modern interface? It's the same but more complicated and you have to do more steps. I am not commenting on the performance because now it is not usable as before with any equipment and it blocks as if the frames per second dropped, it slows down. Affinity, people who use Adobe and others are here because they want a "Don't make me think" interface. We can pay triple but keep it simple. At the moment I continue with V1.

I really, really wanted to like v2. REALLY.
There are so many BAD design decisions, things that are confusing, things that feel half-baked, and things that just don't work.
Normally I would post issues to the forum and wait to see what happens (spoiler: nothing ever happens), but I'm at a bit of a loss as how to proceed.
I was hoping that with the BIG launch of v2 we might see a new, more communicative Serif

In windows 11, unfortunately, it is not possible to select the A0, A1, A2 format either with a new document or as it is already created. This is very annoying, and I don't understand how Serif could intentionally remove it. Who are these Affinity programs for? I work professionally on these programs, I use them every day in my work. And programs instead of swarming are broken on purpose. The Affinity 1 version was already good, you know there were still bugs. But in the version of Affinity 2 there were changes that nobody asked for. Instead of correcting errors, Serif made incomprehensible changes, including the removal of A0, A1 and A2 formats.
Are these programs for preschoolers? For fun on an A4 sheet?

Serif, don't put a log under your feet. I'm willing to pay 10 times more for a program just to get it to work properly.

Such a procedure is cumbersome and incomprehensible. All DIN A formats should already be available when creating a new document.

It doesn't; that's why scale with object would be a better default setting in the software itself than not (as now). There is no way to add the setting to sublayers quickly if scaling for some reason is not activated.

exact. they need to be purchased by adobe. After all, the goal is to make money. and adobe will make them millionaires. but adobe won't pay until the software works well. With v2 affinity you will not be able to sell. They have to make everything work perfectly.
