    Greetings all,
I quite enjoy using my TourBox with Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher and a few other graphics, video, and audio programs. You can fiddle endlessly with TourBox presets, but I've made a few that work well for me. I've added some Excel files listing the key bindings I'm using at the moment, along with a generic blank template. I hope they help.

    Try this...
    Goto page one
In Layers panel right-click the Master page and select Edit Linked
From the menu select Layer > Arrange > Move to Front
(Do not instead drag the layer to the top of layer stack - does not work for me)
Click the Finish button on orange coloured "Editing Linked" information bar
Check your other pages to see if it worked
Note: The pages thumbnails,  after page 1, do not seem to update to show that the master page content is now on top of other content, that may be a bug.  If I close and reopen the document then the thumbnails are updated correctly.

It's nice to know that the bug is already known and being worked on. Well … is it though?
I'm not sure how much programming and coding is involved, but reading that it works in Studio-Link, as stated by @Paul Mudditt, leads me to believe that it's something that already works and could/should be adapted for the standalone Photo app. (As far as I know, and with my very limited understanding of programming, it works like copy/paste of code snippets – but again, I obviously have no idea).
The problem has been known since December last year, so it's all the more annoying that half a year later there's still no improvement in either the current 2.0.4 release or the latest beta. But I guess adding more and more features instead of fixing existing bugs is the standard now. 😐
Especially when recording macros, I see (and experience) a great potential for error.

    Hi Affinity,
When a single layer / object selected then grouped using either Arrange > Group (or the CMD+G shortcut) or Layers panel > Group, the app creates a new, empty group instead of a new group containing the selected layer / object. This requires the user to manually move the previously selected layer / object into the new group.
This bug is present in the standalone Photo app, not in the Photo persona within Publisher. It's also present on the Photo iPad app.

I'm on a Mac running the latest OS. I'm using Photo 2.0.3.
As you can see in the attached video, I performed six tests:
A1. a single object selected. Layer > New Group: new empty group created, as expected.
B1. a single object selected. Arrange > Group: new empty group created, not as expected.
C1. a single object selected. Layers panel > Group: new empty group created, not as expected.
A2. two objects selected. Layer > New Group: new empty group created, as expected.
B2. two objects selected. Arrange > Group: objects grouped, as expected.
C2. two objects selected. Layers panel > Group objects grouped, as expected.
This is different from V1 for me. Performing actions B1 and C1 would result in the single object being grouped as expected in the previous version.
    Thanks!

randomjames reacted to carl123 in Apply Master Page To Pages with New Layer and Set New Layer on Top of All Other Layers
Master pages are automatically added to the bottom of the layers stack but there is a way to move them to the top on all pages in one operation
    1. On any page that you have the master page applied, right-click the Master Page Layer in the Layers panel and select Edit Linked
    2. With that Master page Layer still selected do Layer > Arrange > Move to Front (do not use the mouse to move the layers)
    3. Click the Finish Button at the top of the screen
Now all pages that have that same Master page will have the Master page at the top of the stack
Note: The thumbnails in the Pages panel may not visually reflect that the Master page has been moved until you save, close and reopen the document

I've always loved how the Affinity apps implement masks. But in v2, I now have to click twice to go from the Mask button to confirm that yes, I want to apply a mask. This is pretty annoying from a usability perspective.
How about one click to mask, as it was in v1, and click and hold to open the new menu? Please improve this.

    Hi Affinity,
Apologies if this has been covered in another thread, or if there's an explanation for the behaviour that I've missed... but I'm somewhat peeved by the new Photo V2 function when a single layer / object is grouped. The app creates a new, empty group instead of a new group containing the selected layer / object. This requires the user to manually move the previously selected layer / object into the new group. Annoying.
This was not a problem in V1, and worked as expected. Please rectify this and reinstate the former grouping function.
    Thanks!

Hey, thanks for this. Unfortunately this fix doesn't really work for me. My workflow typically consists of [copy] a vector graphic from Affinity, then [paste] into Figma. It's so much quicker than having to go through the process of exporting the graphic to a standalone file first.
I will keep this in mind for times that I'm moving exported SVG files created in AD.
In the mean time between now and when (please!) Serif implements a fix, I will continue to manually adjust the dimensions.
    Thanks!

Had a pdf file that normalized, preflighted, trapped and imposed. Proof sent. Couldn't proof or plate. All kinds of shennanigans to fix the file. Export to .eps., Import to InDesign and export to pdf, redistill, nope. Illegal file command. Today I take the file and import it into Affinity Publisher 2, and yes, it finally worked out.

I find V2 on my pc is much more confident. Sometimes V1.1 x x would open and crash.

Great news was it took a couple of pdfs to make it just right, black type is black.

Kudos, you beat a pdf from illustrator to make it work.
