Joachim_L
I have all three Affinity applications installed. I changed a few shortcuts in Photo, because they were based on an English keyboard. When I now switch to the Photo persona inside Publisher, the shortcuts are not inherited from the Photo application, it rather seems to be, that Publisher has its own sets for all Personas. Could the shortcuts not be shared among all applications? Or maybe I got something wrong. Staff stokerg Posted August 23, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 23, 2019 Hi Joachim_L, If you go into Preferences of Publisher, there is a keyboard shortcut section there where you can set shortcuts for the Photo Persona. Just select Preferences and change the Publisher drop down to Photo and then you can set shortcuts for the Photo Persona Currently we don't import the shortcuts (or brushes) from Photo but may do in a future update. This is what I was hoping for, so that I do not have to define shortcuts more than once. In the meantime I will import the shortcuts. Chris Hawkins
I'm a newbie so not sure this has been answered (looked but couldn't discern!) - but I simply want to have the same tools that are in the Pixel persona shown alongside the Main persona (I assume that's the "Designer" one because that's my free trial?) I need the lasso/marquis stuff all the time, in conjunction with shapes for example... I have to keep switching personas to get them. Seems odd... So, is there a way to see them all at the same time? Those personas and their tools fulfill different purposes, namely strictly vector editing versus pixel/bitmap editing in this case. - People might be more irritated when things are mixed-up there and some bitmap related tools then wont work for/on vector layers and vice versa. Chris Hawkins
Yeah, I use a mix of vectors and bitmaps, marquis is very necessary when grabbing a part of a screen image, used mostly for rough conceptual redesigns in software. I think the constraint is a little artificial - that’s not how FireWorks worked it and it was much more flexible. I’ll try the assets additions, I’m assuming though they won’t be vectors. Not good. R C-R
8 hours ago, Chris Hawkins said: I think the constraint is a little artificial ... Maybe, but there are several things that dividing the UI into separate Personas makes possible. Among them: Each Persona has its own customizable Studio panel configuration. So for example you could have a large undocked Layers panel in the Designer Persona & just a small one in a tab group the Pixel Persona, a long undocked Brushes panel in the Pixel Persona & small docked one in the Designer Persona, etc. Each Persona can have customizable keyboard shortcuts that apply only to that Persona, so for example you could assign the same shortcut to hiding/showing the Layers panel in the Designer Persona to hiding/showing the Brushes panel in the Pixel Persona. Each also Persona has its own set of menubar menu items, its own customizable toolbar, & its own customizable Tools panel. So while you cannot 'mix & match' tools from different Personas that operate only on vector or raster objects, you can set up each Persona to make the best use of the available screen space. Chris Hawkins
While all that’s fine for many, I don’t see why mixing tools has to be partitioned and mutually exclusive.

It's a fundamental design aspect of this software, Chris, and the vision that Serif has of how things should work. If you don't like their vision, there is other software out there you might like better. Chris Hawkins
Interesting reply, so I guess requesting a feature improvement is not encouraged. Thank you.
